Cheat Cultivator's Ascension - Chapter 529 - 529: Attracting Attention

“Look here, Liliana, what do you think is the greatest problem when a powerful force mobilizes a lot of their personnel to do just one thing?” looking at the horizon as he enjoys the pastries made by the lady in front of him, Su Xiaotian asked, his eyes glowing a pure white tinged with gold as he speaks, said glow piquing the lady’s attention as she replies.
“Is it resources? It’s hard to manage resources for a lot of people after all…” despite the curiosity as to why the immortal-like young man’s eyes are glowing like that, Liliana decides to push the thoughts to the back of her mind as she seriously contemplates her answer to the young man’s question, her answer, earning a nod from him.
“A great answer, not what I am thinking about though…” as he nods at her words, Su Xiaotian affirms his agreement to her answer with a nod, before telling her that despite her great answer, the two of them still differ in their thoughts.
Removing his attention from the horizon as he closes his eyes, he then directs his gaze to the lady once again before he continues with his words, his answer, making the lady wonder whether he is telling her something.
“Attention, my lady, it’s all attention, a massive amount of mobilization attracts too much attention, no matter how covert a force tries to move…” he points out as he took a sip of the tea in front of him, something that he began to enjoy as he spends his time in this estate for a considerable amount of time now.
“…” Feeling quite confused as to why this young man is asking her such question, Liliana stays silent as she contemplates whether it is just one of those mundane talks with him, or there is something that he wants her to figure out herself, her instinct pointing her to the latter, prompting him to think about it for a good, long while.
“!!!” after spending some moments of silence to herself, she finally gets a semblance of conclusion, causing her to feel alarmed as she looks into the young man’s immortal-like face, his gaze, now glowing of the pure white and gold once more, making her feel like everything she has laid bare in front of him, like there’s no sort of mask of deceit that she can use to hide anything from him.
‘Is this one of his abilities as well?’ she wonders in helplessness as she opens her lips to ask a question, her face turning serious as her voice escapes from her mouth.
“They’re coming?” she asked, her hands clenched into a fist in a show of a mixture of wrath and anticipation, her lips curling into a twisted, excited smile, almost like she’s waiting for something like this for a long, long time.
“I’m not really familiar with these Great Ones, so I wouldn’t know, but these people sure are enthusiastic” he replies as the pure white glow in his eyes directs itself onto the horizons once again, and in his vision, specks of mana dance all around him.
While they are nearby, the mana merely sways according to the rule of nature, yet from a farther distance, a large amount of mana converges over the horizon, the center of this mass approaching their distance, signifying the movement of whoever it is that is causing the mana to behave like that.
“That must be them, they love their faces quite a bit after all…” Liliana replies with a smile on her face as she also directs her attention towards the direction Su Xiaotian is facing, wondering what he is seeing in his own world. This thought further increases the fascination she has towards this young man, who appears out of nowhere and just proceeds to shake her entire life.
“You’re quite brave, aren’t you?” hearing the words coming out of Liliana’s mouth, Su Xiaotian couldn’t help but smile in an amused manner as she never expected that this lady, who he assumed is quite afraid of trouble when he first met her, is quite the complete opposite like this, first, how she dealt with the enforcers sent by these approaching ‘Great Ones’ and now, how she talks trash about these very same people behind their back, possibly in front of them as well later.
“Fufufu~~~ I have quite the backing after all~~” seeing the amused smile on the immortal-like young man’s face, Liliana couldn’t help but break into an elegant laughter as she reaches out one of her fair, dainty hands towards her luscious lips, covering them as she continues to laugh her heart out for a good while before she directs her eyes at Su Xiaotian again.
“That’s true” were the only words he can reply with as he saw the light in her eyes, not really full, but nevertheless an unconditional kind of trust directed at him causing him to smile, making him feel like he should at the very least, work a little bit hard for today in order to meet the expectation of this student of his.
“You know I will deal with them if you can just call me master or teacher.”
“W-who would want to be your disciple or student!!??”
“Probably the one who mooched off and received all sorts of teachings for nothing for an entire month.”
“T-that’s what teachers are for, right?”
“You just told me I’m not your teacher, though.”
“T-that…”
Awaiting the inevitable arrival of the ‘Great Ones’ in her domain, Liliana remains quite calm as she banters with the immortal-like young man enjoying the pastries and drinks with her, an unprecedented peace of mind striking her being as she begins to appreciate being around him more and more, bringing her back the feeling when she still has her elders with her, the feeling of someone holding everything up for her even when the heavens collapse.
———-
Far, far north of the Western Continent lies a cold land that never knows of warmth even when the sun shines upon its expanse, a true mystery, as even in the thickness of the pure, clean white of snow, there are still trees and greenery that bloom and grow, almost as if the lack of warmth doesn’t bother them at all.
Should one travel following the gradual thickening of these flora, they might just find themselves in a domain where even the sun itself disappears, and that’s when it will be known to them that they are in the place that serves as the center of military and politics of the vampire’s domain.
The Eternal Moon City, home to the noblest of the night, the territory of the royalty that reigns above all masters of blood for as long as they recall their existence, a land of dreams for any vampire, and the location where their most powerful masters reside, the true royal blood.
“They made such a bold move within the reaches of my land?” Sitting on an ebony throne with crimson engravings like blossoming flowers and raging flame around it, a feminine voice, filled with anger, asked, her words echoing across the throne room, her tone sending shivers down every single witness’s spine.
“Y-yes, your majesty.”
