Child of Destiny - Chapter 2092 - 2092: The Final Trial (Part 2)

……
Looking at the massive horde of jiangshi surrounding them, Ryoto could not help but gulp hard, especially when he could also see that there were much stronger ones waiting for them at the far end of the horde.
The ones at the forefront of the horde were already quite powerful, especially when godly experts such as the ones from these groups could sense an immense threat coming from them.
If the ones that were considered to be the weakest among them were already this powerful, then what more the ones at the far end of the horde?
Even Leonard, who had already faced quite a lot of powerful jiangshi from the second round, could already sense the difference between these jiangshi and the ones that he had encountered.
“These guys are much more powerful than the ones from the second trial,” said Leonard after having a good look at them.
“Is that Dark King high or something when he is preparing these trials? Who will be able to survive this kind of absurdity and earn his legacy?” complained Ryoto, fully understanding that this trial was impossible to clear.
“Moreover, there are also the four General Kings of the Ancient Tang Clan waiting to make their move,” added Riko with an extremely grim tone.
Hearing her words, everyone could not help but turn at the four figures standing at the highest step of the ziggurat in the distance.
They could not help but feel immense pressure just by looking at them from a distance.
Boom!
Right at the same time, the peak of the ziggurat suddenly erupted with intense and blinding light, illuminating the entire hall.
This light lasted for dozens of seconds before its color turned jade.
Swoosh!
At the same time, it summoned a towering pillar of light that seemed to have pierced through the dark abyss above them and connected itself to the heavens.
Despite the distance they had away from it, everyone could vaguely see an outline of a thick book floating above the ziggurat and bathing itself with the pillar of light.
“The Legacy of the Dark King!”
This was the thought that entered everyone’s mind when they saw it, which was also the thing they were after from this dungeon.
“It should be in the form of a Martial Manual within the game,” mumbled Aoki, understanding why there was only a single book there.
“Given the overall system of the game, there is also a high chance that the Martial Manuals of the four General Kings will drop once those four are defeated,” added Ryoto.
The others were about to nod their head when Luminous Dragon poured cold water on them. “Unfortunately, it is impossible to defeat them with our current progress within the game.”
“The goal of this trial is to survive for a reason,” he added along with a sneer.
While everyone was focusing on all these details, Arthur was thinking about something else.
Due to the mysterious veil that was originally hiding everyone’s appearance, he could not confirm most of his earlier suspicions.
However, now that everything had already been cleared, he could see the appearances of the other parties much more clearly.
“Lawrence!? So, it is truly him!” he mumbled before furrowing his brows. “Why is he with the Black Market? Where is his Big Brother? And where are the others from his original adventurer team?”
Unable to suppress his curiosity, Arthur could not help but send a private message to Lawrence.
Only contact with the outside world was being blocked by the restrictions within this dungeon, so contacting each other through private messages was still fine.
It was the same thing he was doing with Leonard previously when they had to hide something from Aoki and the others.
…
Lawrence could not help but feel a bit overjoyed when he realized that the ones from the side of the Heavenly Resto-Bar were with Arthur.
‘It is really Big Brother Arthur! This is a great chance!’ he was overjoyed at first, but he later felt a bit troubled because he did not know how to tell Arthur about his circumstances without arousing any suspicion from Gunner.
*Ding*
While he was agonizing about this problem, he suddenly received a notification that he had received a private message from someone.
“Eh!” he was taken aback at first since he knew that it was impossible to get any message from someone else when he was within this dungeon.
But he later realized that it was only the chase for those who were outside the dungeon, especially after seeing the name of the sender.
“Eh!? Siegfried!? Isn’t that the in-game name of-…” he mumbled before swiftly opening the messaging and secretly reading it.
Siegfried: Hey, Brat! What are you doing there? I first thought that it was someone with similar abilities and class as yours, but I guess I was wrong.
Siegfried: Why are you with those people, and where is your big brother?
Seeing the contents of the message, Lawrence could not help but clench his fist, especially after remembering his big brother.
He then tried his best to calm himself before reorganizing his thoughts.
He then explained everything to Arthur before asking for some help to escape his current predicament.
…
It took a while for Lawrence to explain everything to Arthur, who did not say that much and read everything that the other party had to say in silence.
Fortunately for Lawrence, Gunner was too focused on observing the opposing parties and the jiangshi surrounding everyone to pay him any attention.
This gave Lawrence enough time to explain everything to Arthur as much as he could, and within such a short time.
After telling Arthur everything, Lawrence could not help but heave a sigh of relief, feeling that a huge weight was suddenly taken off his shoulders.
There were very few people he could share his burdens with and ask for help without worrying about being betrayed. Arthur just happened to be one of them.
“Let’s hope that Big Brother Arthur will find a way,” he mumbled, hoping for the best.
…
In the meantime, Arthur, who just finished reading everything, could not help but clench his fists tightly while wearing an extremely cold look on his face.
“The Black Serpent Mafia again, huh?” he mumbled before subconsciously turning toward the members of the Hydra Guild.
His cold look was so intense that Boa and Cobra could not help but turn their heads toward his direction.
The two then realized that the latter was looking at them with intense killing intent that seemed to be capable of freezing the blood within their veins.
Seeing this, Cobra could not help but ask. “Did you do something to piss off that guy? It is going to be a bit troublesome if he sticks with us later.”
“I don’t know either,” replied Boa while rolling his eyes at the other.
“But we must be careful later,” he added while turning his gaze back to Arthur and throwing a cold look of his own.
…
In the meantime, Leonard, who was standing right beside Arthur, could not help but turn toward his good brother, especially when he sensed that immense killing intent.
Leaning a bit closer, Leonard could not help but ask. “What’s wrong?”
Arthur finally snapped out of his state when he heard those words.
“We have a bit of a situation,” he answered truthfully, without removing his gaze from Boa and Cobra.
Without any intention of hiding anything from Leonard, Arthur forwarded the messages that he had gotten from Lawrence and gave the latter enough time to let the conversation sink in.
It did not take long for Leonard to have a similar reaction to Arthur.
However, he managed to quickly regain his composure and swiftly hide his intent.
After a while sent a private message to Arthur.
Simba: We have to find a way to help Lawrence in reality first before making any move.
Arthur nodded, completely agreeing with those words.
Siegfried: I have to report this to Uncle as well. This can be a good opportunity to catch those snakes off guard.
Leonard also agreed as well. But he still added.
Simba: What about the organization behind the Black Market?
Arthur shrugged his shoulders before answering nonchalantly.
Siegfried: It is for the adults to deal with.
…
At the same time, the trio of Aoki, Riko, and Ryoto naturally sensed the sudden yet brief burst of killing intent coming from their juniors.
However, they chose to ignore it, especially when they could sense that it was directed to the members of the Hydra Guild.
“I don’t know what those two from the Hydra Guild have done to provoke our juniors, but it seems like it is something a bit serious,” commented Aoki while preparing himself for more trouble later.
“I guess I can’t afford to be that laidback on this one, huh?” he mumbled before turning his gaze toward the slowly closing horde of jiangshi, then looking far ahead where the ziggurat was located.
“The hidden puzzle left by the Dark King is a bit complicated. I wonder if there is anyone who will solve it here,” he added while raising his lips.
