Child of Destiny - Chapter 2104 - 2104: Child of Poisons (Part 5)

……
“I want REVENGE!”
Hearing this, Tang Hyeon slightly raised his brows before mumbling. “Vengeance, huh?”
This word seemed to have sparked something that he had almost forgotten. It had slowly awakened the slumbering thoughts and hatred that had been buried within his chest after the long passage of time.
A bit of killing intent accidentally leaked out of his body, making the entire place turn dark once again, which was much darker than the previous power that he had released.
This leaked killing intent might be a little drop within the ocean when compared to his true powers, but it was much more powerful and terrifying compared to the ‘little’ pressure that he just used to test Lawrence’s aptitude earlier.
Rumble!
Due to the sudden ‘explosion’ of this killing intent, the entire place suddenly trembles.
“Argh!”
At the same time, Lawrence fell on his knees once again, struggling under the great pressure.
His breathing became much harder, feeling suffocated. He was sweating profusely while supporting his body with both of his arms and preventing himself from fully collapsing.
This time, he truly felt like he was going to die.
However, before he could fully lose himself, a domineering voice suddenly sounded and freed him from his suffering.
[Tang Hyeon! If you don’t calm yourself down, then you will kill the so-called successor that you have chosen!]
Hearing this voice, Tang Hyeon finally snapped out of his rage, instantly keeping his killing intent in full control.
“Cough! Cough! I am sorry about that, Xiao Bai. It has been a while since I was reminded of what happened after all,” he said before turning behind him. “We both know how those outbursts occur out of nowhere when our minds recall something unpleasant.”
“It is quite difficult to be sane in our current state, especially for such a very long time. Even with our current realms and powers, it is not impossible to become crazy,” he added before turning his attention back to Lawrence.
“I must apologize for what happened, young man. Your words somewhat spark something within me that I have long forgotten,” he said before waving his hand and sending a flow of invisible energy toward Lawrence.
Swoosh!
A moment later, Lawrence suddenly felt that all the fatigue and mental trauma that he had just suffered had disappeared within an instant.
He felt very alert and energetic. It was as if he was born once again.
Lawrence quickly stood up, spun, ran in circles, and so on. He was testing his current state, seemingly finding it unbelievable.
Watching the young man for a while, Tang Hyeon suddenly added. “I’ve healed your mind and spirit. This will greatly help you for the future challenges that you are going to face after this event.”
“Ah!?” Lawrence suddenly stopped what he was doing after hearing those words from the old man and quickly turned.
He then gave the old man another deep bow while thanking him. “Thank you for your grace, Elder Dark King.”
Tang Hyeon then waved his hand, treating what he had just did was nothing, before continuing. “You chose the path of vengeance, am I right?”
“It is not a bad choice, especially when it can fuel you with a lot of power in certain situations.” Reaching this point, he purposely paused, letting the young man digest his words.
After a while, he immediately continued. “However, do not get too blinded by it. Having a goal is just one thing, but what’s truly important is what comes after it.”
“What are you going to do once you have achieved that goal? What are you going to do once you have achieved that vengeance?” he repeated before asking. “Will you kill yourself? Or just live a lifeless and meaningless life?”
“Revenge is one of the biggest goals out there, especially when it is something that must be paid for with blood.”
“However, if you make it the sole goal in your life, then what comes after it is emptiness,” he said with a lot of emotion.
Lawrence could even feel that there were a lot of emotions mixed with those words, making it hard for him to explain.
“Remember, whether or not you achieve your revenge with what you are going to inherit from me, you must live your life to the fullest.”
“Enjoying the lessons that you will learn in the process of your vengeance, and enjoy the life even harder after you have achieved.”
“Don’t have too many regrets, or else everything will be meaningless.”
“If you can’t live your life to the fullest because you can’t forget the scars that are in your heart, then at least think of the people who are with you before it happens.”
“Live a good life and a fulfilling life for those who have sacrificed themselves for you to live. Live an eventful and adventurous life in their place, which they can no longer experience.”
“If you can’t live your life for yourself, then at least live it for them,” he added with a tone that seemed to be talking to himself as well.
Lawrence was incredibly young. However, the hard and traumatic experiences that he had experienced were too much for him, especially when they involved the only family that he had left.
He then could not help but recall the other events that happened to him, which he had kept overlooking due to his fear and trauma.
He had almost forgotten that life could be hard, but there were still things that were meant to be treasured – just like those memories.
“Run-… and hide.”
This was the only words that he had remembered during the final moments of his elder brother. He had almost forgotten the others that came after it.
“I hope you forget about revenge and live a good life.”
He had almost forgotten that his elder brother had run away from that hellish place just to live a simple life like ordinary people.
Tears fell from the corner of his eyes, recalling the things that his elder brother did when he returned.
Tang Hyeon gave the young man enough time to reminisce and recover himself.
After a while, he continued. “I hope that you understand it now.”
Hearing this, Lawrence adjusted his stance and gave the old man yet another respectful and grateful bow. “Thank you for enlightening me, Elder Dark King.”
Rumble!
Before Tang Hyeon could even respond, the entire place suddenly started shaking, filling the cave ceiling, floor, and walls with countless cracks.
Seeing this, Tang Hyeon suddenly raised his brows before turning his head up. His eyes also released a jade glow, seemingly giving him the ability to pierce through the ceiling.
A moment later, he squinted his eyes before mumbling. “The time is almost out already!? Tsk! I guess it can’t be helped. After all, dodging its gaze is not that easy.”
He then suddenly lowered his head and looked at Lawrence before continuing. “Listen up, brat. Starting today, you will be my sole successor and will inherit everything that I have left behind.”
“Unfortunately, we do not have much time since ‘it’ has already caught us trespassing on this place.”
“However, I will give you something that will be of great help when you are looking for my legacy in the future.”
He then suddenly recalled something and said. “Ah! There is also this thing called ‘program’ in your era.”
He pursed his mouth before continuing. “There is this certain couple that says that it will perfectly replicate the training knowledge that I have created, meant for my descendants.”
“Follow the instructions there and make sure to train under all the conditions mentioned. It will help you build a suitable foundation to inherit my true methods.”
“When you go back to that place you people called the ‘virtual world’, you will experience a bit-… of pain. However, I hope that you will be able to endure it since it will be something that will help you greatly in the future.”
“Once you are back in the real world, you will feel a few changes to your body as well. Just do everything according to the knowledge I will be passing, and everything will be fine.”
Lawrence was unable to fully comprehend those words when Tang Hyeon suddenly pointed his index finger toward him and fired a beam of light that flew straight at the center of the former’s forehead.
Swoosh!
Lawrence stood still as a flood of knowledge swept through his mind along with the flashes of images that he could not fully comprehend.
He then slowly closed his eyes, trying to digest as much knowledge as he could.
In the meantime, Tang Hyeon watched Lawrence for a while before suddenly waving his hand, that send a invisible force that sent the latter back to where he came from.
Rumble!
At the same time, the ‘cave’ where they were suddenly collapsed, revealing what was beyond it.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
While the entire cave was collapsing, revealing a place that looked like outer space – a void filled with stars.
BOOM!
A massive explosion seemed to have occurred somewhere, making this vast universe tremble.
Despite seeing this happen, Tang Hyeon calmly raised his head and smirked. “Oops! I guess you are a bit late.”
“‘You’ may have successfully cursed us, but you will never be able to stop the wheels of destiny. Even ‘You’ have to follow your own rules,” he added before laughing hysterically.
A moment later, his figure slowly faded, leaving this vast universe.
BOOM!
……
