Child of Destiny - Chapter 2174 - 2174: Lesser True Demon Contracts

…
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The battle between the members of the Titan Guild and the demonic players from the Pandemonium Descendants reached the most intense stage, where both sides started to lose more people as time went by.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Most of the members of the Titan Guild were able to hold their ground against the demonic players that they were fighting within the flood, but they started to lose their footing as well when these demonic players were able to showcase their demonic powers.
They all transformed into powerful demons, activating their respective demonic contract, where they gained a massive boost in their combat prowess.
Even though these lesser demon contracts were not as powerful as those of the elite members of the Demonic Churches, it was still enough to overpower most of the players, who only relied on Berserk Skills at most.
Adding the buffs that Leviathan provided with his puppeteer skill, the members of the Titan Guild struggled quite hard to keep themselves alive.
These members of the Titan Guild all had classes meant for aquatic battles, given that they were subordinates of the guild’s Gods of the Sea. Unfortunately, even that was far from being enough to deal with their current situation.
The Demon Contracts were just too powerful for most of the players of the game, particularly the ones who were still unable to figure out the combat states that were suitable for them.
After all, almost all the players at the Aurora Continent were still figuring out how to gain the combat state that could propel their strength to a higher level.
Big guilds might have figured out that the Mysterious Instructors were the main factor for this, particularly the trials that they provided the players.
Unfortunately, these top guilds and huge organizations were still trying to figure out the most efficient way to clear them while also gaining enough insight to unlock their potential and figure out the most suitable type of combat state for their fighting style.
On the other hand, Demonic Players had it quite easy for their side. All they had to do was form a contract with a decent demon from the Hell Realms, which would provide them enough power that could rival those combat states.
Most of them could only form contracts with Lesser True Demons due to the lesser demon contracts that they had, but they could just change contracted demons with higher-ranking ones or even Noble True Demons once they had gotten a much stronger contract and found a suitable demon to contract with.
Unfortunately, meeting those two conditions was much harder to achieve since they not only had to gain enough merit to exchange with such high-level contracts, but finding a suitable demon for that contract was quite a challenge as well.
Even with the help of the Demonic Churches, finding a suitable demon was quite hard.
That was, unless they were like those high-ranking members of the church or had some special means to communicate with the demons of the Hell Realms.
None of the high-ranking members of the Demonic Churches knew how Lucifer managed to find that many Great Demons to form a contract with the members of the Pandemonium Descendants or how they were able to get their hands on that many demon contracts, which made the organization the strongest even within the demonic churches.
Moreover, Lucifer even produced an inferior version of these demon contracts, which were distributed to all members of the organization, gaining them a strong combat prowess that far exceeded that of the other members of the demonic churches.
Demon Contracts were supposed to be for contracting Ancient Demons or similarly strong Demons from the Hell Realms after finding a suitable contractee that could match their features, needs, or desires.
These extremely powerful demons could grant these players a portion of their powers, which they could use against their enemies or targets.
In a sense, it was even a counterpart of the Elemental Contracts that the players of the Atlas World could have with suitable Elemental Spirits, particularly those from Transcendent Races.
These contracts were only meant for powerful demonic players and the Great Demons from the Hell Realms.
However, for some reason, Lucifer and his organization had managed to find a way to let their members form a contract with any decently strong demons from those realms, giving them a great advantage over everyone.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Seeing the current situation, Njord, who was watching the ongoing battle from a distance, could not help but frown quite deeply.
“These guys from the Pandemonium Descendants are getting more ridiculous as more time passes,” he mumbled while wearing a heavy expression on his face.
From the information that they had gotten, the top guilds were also aware of these so-called Demon Contracts, which were one of the trump cards that the Demonic Players had aside from their Demonic Transformation.
The former was meant to borrow some powers from an extremely powerful demon, while the latter was to use the potency of their demonic bloodline to increase their overall powers, particularly their physical strength and magic control.
Either one was extremely hard to deal with, much less having both of them.
Originally, the only ones who could have both of these powers were those high-ranking members of the Demonic Churches or extremely powerful Demonic Players like the members of the Pandemonium Troupe.
However, it seemed like the Pandemonium Descendants had found a way to provide even their regular members with such powers as well.
“This is going to be a bit more troublesome,” he added, understanding the significance of this problem.
Felix and Felicia might not be very familiar with the Demonic Players’ methods, but they somehow understood the gravity of the situation.
“Should we lend them a hand?” asked Felix after seeing the expression that Njord was wearing.
“Hmph! Since they refuse our initial offer, then they can forget about it altogether,” said Felicia quite stubbornly before adding. “However, they should be fine given that Poseidon guy is still holding up quite well.”
“From what I can see, it is another matter that bothers this guy,” she added while squinting her eyes and using her ocular skill to observe those Demonic Players fighting within the flood waters closely.
…
In the meantime, Diablo and Alucard, who were watching the battle from quite far, were also currently having a serious expression.
“It seems like those old friends of yours have gained something troublesome again,” said Alucard while watching the battle along with his Sanguine Eyes.
“Those Lesser True Demon Contracts are something that I have never heard before,” said Diablo with a quite heavy tone before continuing. “I don’t know how Lucifer have done it, but it seems like they have gained something extremely troublesome after relocating their base to the Hell Realm.”
“That guy sure knows how to get his hands on things that others are unable to do,” he added.
“Have you recorded everything?” he asked.
“Tsk! Tsk! Do you think that I am some sort of amateur?” complained Alucard a little. “Of course, I have already released all the spying stones since earlier and recorded everything even before they started fighting.”
“I’ve also sent them to others and our intelligence network so that they can handle the rest,” he added before saying. “However, I think it is better to send Guild Leader Snow White.”
“Given our current relationship with the Hand of Midas, the Pandemonium Descendants will most likely target them, especially when it is easier to cause trouble with them than us,” he then turned to Diablo and asked. “What do you?”
“Just send it to Commander Cloe and the Vice Commanders. Let them decide what to do with it,” responded Diablo quite nonchalantly.
In the meantime, Alucard saw that the situation was getting worse for the side of the Titan Guild, making him frown quite deeply. “It does not look good with our friends over there. Should we lend a hand a little?”
He knew that Njord and the twin beside him were quite powerful, but he still felt that there was something wrong with the situation.
He was not sure what exactly it was, but he was having a bad feeling about it, which was why he wanted to deal with Leviathan and his people before the situation could even get any worse than it already was.
Diablo was more familiar with the Pandemonium Descendants and how they operate, so Alucard wanted to hear his thoughts about this.
Diablo was focusing on Leviathan the entire time, almost ignoring everyone else. He squinted his eyes a little, seemingly trying to figure out something as well.
After a while, he suddenly spoke. “All the members of the Pandemonium Troupe are independent from one another, aside from that lustful pair.”
“They always do things according to their wishes unless Lucifer has given them any direct order or assigned a special assignment.”
“The current situation indicates that Leviathan is here for personal reasons, so there shouldn’t be any accomplice around,” he then paused for a moment before continuing. “Every Troupe Member is quite prideful, so they rarely team up when doing any kind of operation.”
“However, there are still certain instances where they require some outside help, especially when their partner has a unique ability that can make their job much easier and more convenient.”
Hearing this, Alucard could not help but ask. “Are you telling me that other people are hiding out there?”
Diablo was silent for a moment before answering. “That-… or they are already within their ranks.”
Alucard seemed to have figured out something and could not help but say. “Eh!? Are you telling me that-…”
BOOM!
However, before he could even complete his words, an unexpected development suddenly occurred on the battlefield.
