Child of Destiny - Chapter 2175 - 2175: Leviathan's Plot (Part 1)

…
Boom!
While Poseidon was continuously throwing spells at the Ice Puppets that Leviathan was controlling, an ominous feeling suddenly overwhelmed him.
Swoosh!
In response, Poseidon immediately raised his defenses to maximum level, not daring to be overconfident.
He was trusting his instincts since he had been saved by them multiple times already.
However, he later realized that this ominous feeling might not be targeting him at all.
Swoosh!
He swiftly turned and looked in the direction where Njord was, along with Felix and Felicia. He was about to warn them when he was suddenly bombarded by a series of explosions that the ice puppets had produced.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Each Ice Puppet charged him without regard for anything, just wanting to pounce at him before exploding one after another.
Due to this, he was unable to do anything other than protect himself. He also did not have the time to warn Njord because of the continuous bombardment.
It was only at this moment that Njord had also sensed something wrong.
Unfortunately, it was already too late at that time.
Puchi!
Njord felt that his entire body was suddenly paralyzed, unable to move despite his strong urges. He then slowly turned his head down, looking at the ice spike sword that was piercing through his chest and spreading a frost energy all over his body.
Cough! Cough!
He could only cough while watching his entire body slowly turn into an ice statue due to the overwhelming ice energy.
It was only at this moment that Felix and Felicia realized that something was wrong. The moment that they heard Njord’s coughs, they saw Leviathan standing behind the latter and plunging an ice sword at Njord’s back.
As they were about to respond, this ‘Leviathan’ suddenly unleashed a powerful, violent burst of energy, making the two’s expressions drop.
Swoosh! Swoosh!
Felicia swiftly grabbed her twin brother’s shoulder and used a teleportation spell to get away from this place.
BOOM!
Right after, ‘Leviathan’ exploded, producing a series of overlapping shockwaves that destroyed all the trees in the surroundings before turning everything into ice within the range of the explosion.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
Poseidon wore an extremely solemn expression when he saw this, especially after seeing that Njord’s name from the party panel grayed out.
This indicated that Njord was instantly killed by that massive explosion.
Even the portion of the flood waters that he summoned had turned into solid ice after being caught by the explosion.
Both his people and some of the demonic players that they were fighting were also caught in the explosions, either being blasted into smithereens by the explosion or turned into ice statues by the icy current that the explosion had produced.
Poseidon, who was a bit far from the epicenter of the explosion, emerged from the icy mist that was produced by the series of explosions that bombarded him.
He then glared fiercely at Leviathan, who was still standing quite leisurely in the same spot since the start of the battle.
Seeing his expression, Leviathan could not help but enjoy the current sight before saying. “What’s with that look? It is not like he will be dead forever. He will respawn anyway.”
“It is just a pity that I cannot capture him due to his quick responses, forcing me to let my clone explode. He should be a perfect material for the creation of my Glacial Knight Puppet,” he sighed a little.
He sensed that Njord wanted to use some sort of mystic magic to counter kill him earlier, which forced him to abandon that ice clone and let it explode.
“Well, I must say that capturing a god-level expert is quite hard,” he mumbled before turning his gaze back at Poseidon.
Then he saw the continuous flow of water gushing from the divine trident slow somewhat.
“You are running out of mana, aren’t you?” he smirked, seeing that the current situation was slowly turning to his favor.
“Hmph! Do you think that I will just randomly use a sealed legendary weapon without thinking about its consequences?” responded Poseidon.
Legendary equipment was powerful, but some restrictions on them discouraged most of the players from actively using them, such as huge mana consumption, a great toll on the mind, or extremely harsh requirements when it came to stats.
Even in their sealed state, these sets of Legendary Equipment were extremely demanding for most players. That was, unless they had certain tricks or methods that could nullify these restrictions, or if they were too monstrous to meet the initial requirements to wield them.
The Divine Trident in Poseidon’s hands was among the sealed legendary weapons that required its wielder to have a strong mentality and an overwhelming amount of mana, since the continuous usage of it could put a heavy burden on both mind and mana pool.
The Divine Trident was more suitable for classes like Battle Mages to use since they could fight in both areas that concerned physique and mana pool.
To nullify most of the restrictions of this legendary weapon, the most basic trick was to use an item that could negate its negative effects.
Swoosh!
Not long after, Poseidon summoned an orb with an aquamarine color, which was constantly releasing a pulsing light.
Right after this orb was summoned, Poseidon’s entire being seemed to have undergone some changes, particularly with the aura that he was releasing.
His mind seemed to have become serene while a mist of mana was continuously pulsing in and out of his body.
The mind fatigue that he was suffering earlier due to the continuous usage of the Divine Trident was greatly eased while his mana pool rose and filled at an incredible speed.
Sensing all these changes, Leviathan could not help but wear a serious expression, especially after seeing the aquamarine orb in Poseidon’s other hand.
“The [Heart of the Ocean Depths],” he mumbled in a heavy tone before saying. “I do not expect that you muscleheads in the Titan Guild will get your hands on that thing.”
“Even if it is just one of the main parts of that Godly Legendary Item, it is still the main core,” he commented along with a somewhat serious expression. “It seems like we have underestimated the resourcefulness of a Powerhouse Guild, huh?”
“Using the unique features of the [Heart of the Ocean Depths] to counter the restrictions of the [Divine Trident], it may be quite exaggerated, but it is highly effective.”
“Moreover, the [Heart of the Ocean Depths] is just an Obsidian Rank item, not even reaching a Meteor Grade, but it is quite a unique secondary weapon for mage classes due to its special features. It does not have any restrictions as well, so it is a perfect fit to use with the [Divine Trident],” he added, acknowledging that the methods that Poseidon was using were quite effective to cover his weaknesses.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
Poseidon did not respond and just summoned an even stronger flood of waters that almost reached dozens of meters.
The raging current had also grown stronger, even pushing some of the less sturdy trees down.
Seeing this, Leviathan understood that the other party was really made after he took down Njord. “Now that I have taken out one of the most troublesome variables present, I guess it is time to get a bit serious as well.”
He then took out a bunch of figurines, threw them in the air, which then turned into a group of giant ice golems that stood on par with the surrounding trees.
The violent flood that Poseidon had summoned had barely reached their knees while their foot stood firmly on the ground.
Along with the ice mists that their bodies were emitting, the raging currents of the flood somewhat slowed down whenever they got near these ice golems.
Leviathan was currently standing at the most colossal ice golem that seemed to have somewhat dwarfed the others.
He looked at Poseidon, who was riding a giant tide in the distance. “Show me what you’ve got, Sea God!”
“Hmph!” Poseidon did not respond and immediately used a large-scale magic, which also changed the weather.
Boom!
Along with a thunderous roar from heaven, the clouds had suddenly turned dark before a heavy rain had started pouring down.
‘Ocean King Skill (High Tier 3: Pseudo Tier 4 Domain) – Calamity Rain’
Boom!
Along with the heavy rain, the level of the flood that Poseidon had summoned grew even higher, while the violent current that they carried had become even stronger, making it harder even for the members of the Titan Guild, who were still fighting within it.
“Heh!” Leviathan scoffed when he saw this before waving his hand and controlling all the ice golems to initiate their attacks. “Go!”
Boom! Boom! Boom!
They dragged their feet up from the raging flood and started charging toward Poseidon with their heavy footsteps.
It seemed to be a violent earthquake due to their rapid and forceful steps, while also creating giant splashes during their charge.
…
In the meantime, Felix and Felicia, who were now standing at the tallest tree, were watching the battle with great interest.
“It seems like we have been forgotten completely,” Felix chuckled after seeing the intense battle between the two.
Felicia, on the other hand, wore a more serious expression while saying. “Be careful, Brother. We do not know when that guy will use the same trick earlier.”
“Even I did not sense anything wrong until that Njord guy was stabbed. I do not know what kind of trick he has used, but this only proves that he is extremely dangerous,” she added with a heavy tone.
Felix then nodded his head, acknowledging her warnings, especially when he, too, was unable to sense that earlier ambush.
