“Are you sure we can be away from Hard Burn for three weeks?” I asked.
“Yes. Gio will be in charge, and my brothers will look in and help out.” He squeezed my ass. “Stop worrying. Your work will still be there when we get back.”
I’d taken on a little more of the business side of things, which freed Beau up to train more clients. He had zero complaints. I was currently setting up an online store to sell Beauden Fury approved merchandise and boxing gear. I already had hugeinterest from the gym’s clients. I felt a tingle of excitement. After our honeymoon, I was also going back to college at the University of New Orleans. I couldn’t wait to finish my degree.
I tipped my head back. I had everything I wanted. My life was night and day from where it had been a few months ago. I’d gone from having nothing, to having a life I’d never let myself dream about.
I looked up at the stars overhead. One blinked, then another, and I smiled. My thoughts turned to Karina and Allie. I’d attended Karina’s funeral, and cried my eyes out against Beau’s chest, and then with Karina’s mother. The older woman hadn’t blamed me for her daughter’s death.
My girl had a big heart. I know she was looking over you when you took down the man who stole her away from us.
I knew Karina and Allie would be happy for me today. I vowed to make every day count, for all of us.
Wish you could have had your own Fury brother, Allie.
“Happy?” Beau asked.
“I blew way past happy ages ago.” I cupped his face. “Now, what do I have to do to get a kiss from my husband?”
“Just ask.”
“Kiss me, Mr. Fury.”
His mouth covered mine as we danced on the bayou, surrounded by everyone we loved.
