“Will do, Beau.” My client wiped his sweaty face with a towel. We’d just finished a training session. “And thanks. I’ve really improved since I started training with you.”
I nodded. “Happy to hear that.”
Joey was in his mid-twenties and a keen boxer. He had a lot of potential. I watched as his gaze shifted, looking over at Bell. She was folding towels. I stiffened.
“Uh, your new hire, is she single?” Joey asked hopefully.
I frowned. “No.”
My tone made Joey stiffen. “Right.” He gave me a chin lift. “Got it. Night, Beau.”
I watched him walk away. It was almost closing time, and the gym was emptying out. My cellphone rang and I pulled it out. Reath’s name was on the screen.
I pressed it to my ear. “Hey.”
“Hi, Beau. I’ve got an update on my search for Carr.”
His serious tone made me tense.
“He’s slippery,” Reath said. “No credit cards in his name. No rental agreements, property, or cars. He’s a ghost. But our facial recognition picked him up near the French Quarter.”
My hand curled into a fist. I knew Reath’s company, Phoenix Security Services, had invested a lot in cyber technology, including a state-of-the-art facial recognition system. “He’s definitely in New Orleans, then.”
“He is.”
My knuckles turned white. “I won’t let him get close to her again.”
“I know. I’ve got my team hunting him, and I made a call to Simon. We’ll find him, Beau.”
“She needs new locks at her place. And an alarm she can press if there’s trouble. I want to be the first one alerted.” I pulled in a deep breath. I’d keep Bell safe.
“I’ll have it taken care of.”
“Thanks, Reath.” I knew I could always trust my brothers.
Over the next few minutes, the last of the gym goers left, as did Gio. I locked the front door and turned the lights down.
“Everyone gone?” Bell smiled at me.
She looked relaxed. In my mind, I kept seeing her out on the bayou today, riding me in that chair.
My cock stirred.
“Yes. It’s training time.”
“I’m ready.” She held up her already wrapped hands.
As we headed to the back boxing ring, I moved to the music system and put some music on. The steady beat filled the air.
When I turned, Bell was in the ring. She’d taken her Hard Burn shirt off and was just wearing her leggings and a sports bra top. She bounced on her feet. “Come on, tough guy. I’m not afraid of you.”
I liked seeing her smiling and playful.
I climbed in. “Don’t get cocky.”
She shifted from side to side. “I’m missing the appendage that usually leads to that. I think you’re scared.”
I wasn’t scared of fighting her, but she did make me afraid of other things.
