Dark Magus Returns - Chapter 1733 Your Reason

Chapter 1733 Your Reason
Raze had realised in the fight, that he could somewhat control the large black hole that was on his back. When using the Breakthrough, he had been so focused on how it was able to absorb even attacks coming from the front, he hadn’t even thought there was a need to pass it through his body. In his mind the Black Sphere had simply been a shield, something that devoured whatever came close and left nothing behind, and in the heat of battle that alone had seemed more than enough.
Or if there even was a way to pass it through his body without getting hurt by it, but witnessing what Trubin had been doing with his Breakthrough, it had given Raze the idea to test it out. Trubin had been manipulating his power in ways that weren’t straightforward, stretching it, shaping it, forcing it to react beyond its base function, and that had sparked something in Raze’s mind. If Trubin could push his ability further, then why couldn’t he do the same.
Condensing it down, its effect would be the same but from a small area, and if that touched Trubin’s body then what would it do. The question had come to him only a second before he acted, and there hadn’t been time to calculate every outcome. Well when it touched Trubin, Raze had seen it take away the magic lightning that he used to defend himself. The lightning that had been wrapped around Trubin’s body like a second skin, protecting him from direct harm, had simply vanished the moment it came into contact with the condensed sphere.
Maybe, this was his chance, maybe he should have attacked and pierced Trubin with the sword right there and then, but something was telling him, that he should have gone a step further, and that’s when Raze decided to expand the Black hole instead to cover the two of them. It was a risk, because he didn’t know if expanding it so close would have an effect on himself, but he trusted his control just enough to attempt it.
Right where the two of them were fighting, now there was just a black sphere, but it had only lasted for a second before it started to shrink down, and then Raze was seen standing there with his Breakthrough Black sphere behind his back and Trubin in front of him on his knees. The sudden disappearance of the sphere made it look as if nothing had happened at all, but the state Trubin was in told a different story.
“It’s gone…” were the words that came out from Trubin’s mouth. “My magic, the Black Sphere, it absorbed my Breakthrough and all of it, it’s gone.”
Raze could feel it was true, there was no more Mana left in Trubin’s body, and because he wasn’t a Pagna warrior it wasn’t as if he could escape. The flow that had once been surging inside him was completely empty, like a dried well. That’s when Raze placed both of his swords right up against Trubin’s neck on either side, if he moved even a centimetre it would cut him.
Raze himself was surprised by the result. His god tier robe was also able to absorb things, and it allowed him in turn to keep what had been taken. The issue was, he couldn’t use time magic to reverse this part. Because in doing so, it would also reverse whatever had taken place. If he had the chance to use the robe on Trubin and reversed time then Trubin would reappear, and Raze needed to reverse time to keep his memories.
Not that was even an option anyway, with him currently using his Breakthrough and unlike with Heino, it was almost impossible to be able to get close enough to Trubin to use it. A fight with the Grand Magus was one where Raze had to use all of his power, and there had been no space for him to rely on anything else.
However, there was a large benefit still to Raze using his Breakthrough on Trubin, and that was that he could feel all of the mana taken added to his own. Not in the same way as the extraction technique. He could tell it was just temporary powering his current Breakthrough form, but it was as if he had just used his Breakthrough maybe even more powerful than that. The energy coursing through him felt thicker, denser, as if the Black Sphere had been fed far more than usual.
So he could last quite a bit longer in his Breakthrough form which was unusual. It was a shame though that Raze was unable to use the God tier cloak, or the extraction technique on Trubin, with his magic gone, and just being used as a source of energy using it now would do nothing to him.
Thankfully, his Breakthrough was clearly more impressive than he originally thought, he just didn’t really know how to fully utilise it.
“Trubin, it’s safe to say that I will end your life now regardless of what you have to say.” Raze claimed. “We both know this has been a long time coming. You killed someone that was dear to me? You ruined my entire life, you ruined another person’s whole future and for what?”
“Can you say you have not done the same?” Trubin replied. “Why the lives of those that you have killed to get this far, to get to the goal that you wanted to achieve, why is it so different.”
“It’s not.” Raze replied. “Did I ever claim it to be? What I’m asking you, is why did you ruin my life. This is the consequences of all of the Grand Magus interfering with my life. I have never claimed to be better than anyone else.
“You someone who was so talented, why are you following orders from Trubin? Why would you become a killer for hire?”
Trubin then looked up at Raze.
“Like you said, Sabrina, she was an important person to you, so much that you have killed so many, and it’s the same for me. Sometimes, we don’t understand the things we do, for the family we have.”
Before any more question could be asked, Trubin willingly moved into the sword, but Raze felt the movement. Rather than letting Trubin kill himself, Raze swung the sword slicing off his head.
“I’m not letting you take away this from me as well.” Raze claimed.
