Death Guns In Another World - Chapter 2031 - 2031: Hidden Room

As Alex stepped through the radiant portal, he expected the familiar glow of the exit room, perhaps a moment of respite after the brutal showdown against the twin-headed ogre.
But instead—
A cold silence.
The light faded behind him, revealing a hidden chamber, vast and circular, carved of black stone veined with glowing red lava lines. The ceiling shimmered with ancient runes, and the air itself seemed heavier, vibrating with magical tension.
At the center of the room, resting atop a molten platform, was another beast—a Twin-Headed Salamander, nearly four meters long, with obsidian-red scales that shimmered like molten metal. Its twin heads hissed in perfect sync, tongues flicking out as it locked eyes with Alex.
Its tails writhed like whips. Its four muscular legs dug into the ground.
“Tch… a secret boss?” Alex muttered, narrowing his eyes.
Without warning, the salamander lunged forward, a blur of crimson and flame.
BOOM!
Alex sidestepped just in time—the beast zipped past like a fireball. But it pivoted mid-air, tail whipping around like a hammer.
WHAM!
Alex raised his right arm, catching the impact directly. Flames burst on contact, but his reinforced arm held steady. He gritted his teeth, his feet dragging several meters from the force.
Then—
“HRAAAAH!”
He twisted and hurled the salamander over his shoulder.
The twin-headed monster flipped, but landed perfectly on all fours with an inhuman hiss, eyes blazing with rage.
“Not bad.”
Alex raised his magic gun. Flames crackled at the muzzle, frost gathered along the chamber floor.
“Try this—Fire Bullet. Ice Bullet. Lightning Bullet. Scatter Shot!”
He pulled the trigger.
The bullets burst from the barrel in rapid succession—one after another, then all at once. A brilliant display of multicolored destruction.
BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!
The salamander weaved between them with inhuman grace, though several bullets clipped its armor-like scales. One of the heads shrieked and spewed a jet of fire, intercepting a lightning shot mid-air and causing a chain explosion that lit up the chamber.
Alex shielded his eyes—then leapt high as the ground below erupted.
From above, he flipped mid-air and pointed the gun downward.
“Mana-Enhanced Bullet: Freezing Lance!”
A concentrated ice projectile burst forth—a spiraling spear of frost aimed at the twin-headed monster.
One of the heads reacted immediately, breathing a counter-flame to melt the ice mid-air.
The two elements collided—
Sssssshhhh!!!
Steam erupted like a geyser.
Alex landed on the edge of the platform. His eyes narrowed. “It can react to magic fast. I’ll need to close the distance.”
He sheathed the gun in a fluid motion and drew his sword—a sleek, silver blade engraved with dual-elemental runes.
With a breath, he dashed forward, sword trailing sparks behind him.
The salamander snapped both heads toward him—one unleashing fire, the other spewing corrosive acid.
Alex spun sideways, flame rippling just past his cloak, the acid sizzling on stone behind him. His blade danced—slicing through a wave of fire and crashing against the salamander’s claw.
CLANG!
The shockwave split the lava platform.
He ducked under the follow-up bite, then drove the sword into the creature’s leg—but it bounced off its armored scales.
“It’s tougher than it looks…” Alex grunted.
The twin heads lunged again—fangs bared.
He backflipped, then slashed upward mid-air.
“Twin Arc—Heaven and Hell Cut!”
His blade surged with ice and fire as he carved a twin arc—one of fire, one of frost—that slammed into the salamander, staggering it for the first time.
SCREEEEEEEE!!!
Both heads shrieked in pain, flames bursting from its wounds.
It recoiled, eyes filled with fury.
“Overheat Mode: Molten Rage!”
Its body glowed red-hot—veins pulsing like lava tubes. The entire floor began to crack as its magic surged.
“Oh no.”
The twin-headed salamander detonated into flame, disappearing in a burst of speed. Alex barely caught the movement before it was already behind him.
“Too fast—!”
A massive tail smashed into his side, launching him across the chamber. He slammed into a rune pillar, coughing blood.
He stood slowly, wiping his mouth.
“This thing… is stronger than the ogre.”
The salamander launched forward again, but Alex stepped into a fighting stance.
His aura pulsed.
“Then I’ll go all out too.”
Alex’s body shimmered—runes crawling up his skin like divine tattoos. His eyes lit up with twin colors—ice-blue and flame-gold.
“Sword Style: Frostfire Devastation Form.”
He gripped his blade tight. His magic surged like a tidal wave.
The salamander snarled, heads syncing again. It released a massive dual breath attack, one side molten fire, the other putrid acid.
Alex ran forward through the twin attack.
The floor beneath him froze and ignited with each step.
He ducked under the acid, slid across the ground with his sword out, carving a glowing rune into the floor.
The moment he passed beneath the monster—
“Seal Slash!”
The rune activated, and chains of light burst from the ground, wrapping around the monster’s legs.
“NOW!”
Alex leapt into the air. Mana exploded behind him, launching him like a missile.
“Final Technique—Elemental Spiral Execution!”
He spun mid-air, his sword glowing with a vortex of flame and frost, spiraling together like a drill.
He descended in a flash.
“HAAAAAAAH!!!”
SHING!!!!
He struck.
The salamander screamed—one head severed cleanly, the other staggered, disoriented. Blood and flames erupted like a geyser.
Alex flipped mid-air, then landed behind it—kneeling, sword planted in the ground.
BOOM.
The salamander convulsed.
And then—
Silence.
It collapsed. Flames died. The chamber’s runes dimmed.
A soft glow enveloped the room.
Alex stood amidst the ruins, steam rising from the slain monster. The platform beneath him still glowed faintly. He exhaled, the adrenaline slowly fading.
In the center of the chamber, a pedestal rose.
Upon it—a glowing orb.
A Soul Core. Rare. Pulsating with twin elements. He could sell, it was used to craft powerful weapon.
He approached and picked it up.
“A reward fit for a king.” He smirked. “Guess this trip was worth the pain.”
As the chamber rumbled and a new portal opened, Alex looked back at the battlefield—scorched, shattered, scarred.
And smiled.
“Bring on the next one.”
Shaking his head he decided to leave, it was the time to head back to the guild now that he had finished completing the given mission.
