Debuff Master - Chapter 1115

Chapter 1115
The sight of the armed fallen angels lined up in perfect formation was simply overwhelming. There were so many of them that they had to number in the millions at least.
“Ah…” Siegfried muttered.
He couldn’t bring himself to believe that the sight before his eyes was real. Verdandi had poured everything into dispelling the barrier using alchemy, and she had succeeded. Unfortunately, her efforts were all for nothing.
The Celestial Gate was already open, and the fallen angels were lying in wait for them.
Everything Siegfried had worked so hard for, all of it had been in vain.
He had bled, sweated, and nearly died trying to stop the opening of the Celestial Gate, only to find out that he was too late.
‘Ah, I swear… Should I just Alt + F4 this whole damn game?’
The sheer fury, the disbelief, and the crushing helplessness he felt made him feel like quitting the game right then and there. Everything he had gone through flashed through his mind like a montage clip, and the realization that he had only delayed the inevitable made his blood boil.
“Foolish mortals.”
Just then, a voice rang out from the very front of the lines of fallen angels.
It was Archangel Jeremiel, the one who always led the Celestial Forces into battle.
“To think you went and opened the barrier for us. How truly grateful we are.”
Siegfried stepped forward and responded, “What the hell is that supposed to mean?”
“It is exactly as I said. We opened the Celestial Gate, yes… but even we couldn’t get rid of that barrier,” Jeremiel replied with a grin.
“…What?”
“The barrier was beyond our reach. We, angels, could not destroy it.”
“What the hell are you talking about?”
“That barrier couldn’t be broken from the inside. It had to be undone from the outside. So we waited, waited, and waited until one of you mortals from the Middle Realm did it for us. And now, you have done exactly that.”
At those words, Siegfried’s face stiffened.
Jeremiel grinned once again and continued, “You mortals call yourselves the guardians of this world, yet you have paved the way for us into your world.”
Rage surged through Siegfried as he listened to Jeremiel’s words.
He was bamboozled. He thought he was protecting the world, but in truth, he had unknowingly opened the door that would lead to the destruction of the world.
In other words, he had basically brought about the destruction of the world with his own two hands. No wonder his blood was boiling. It was no wonder he was overcome with bitterness and rage.
“So, how does it feel to bring about your own demise with your own hands?” Jeremiel sneered, his voice laced with mockery. Then, he asked, “Do you feel proud? Well, you should be, as this is the greatest feat you lowly creatures have achieved in your short, pathetic history—no, perhaps this is the greatest feat anyone has ever achieved since the dawn of creation. Hahaha!”
“You…” Siegfried growled low. Then, he flashed a smirk and said, “Why don’t you shut the hell up?”
“Hm? What did you just say?”
“Don’t try me, you smug son of a bitch. I’m already pissed off enough right now.”
Jeremiel chuckled and replied, “Haha… Such rage from a mortal fool. Very well, you will have a—”
“I’ll handle Jeremiel,” someone interrupted and stepped forward.
It was Michael.
Siegfried was already a Grandmaster, but he was still not a match for an archangel. He could handle fallen angels, but going against someone like Jeremiel was out of the question.
Thus, it was the right call for Michael to face the archangel instead.
“M-Michael! You traitor!” Jeremiel roared, flinching at the sight of him.
The former Chief Archangel appeared with ten wings sprouting out of his back. Naturally, the sight of Michael rattled Jeremiel.
They both had ten wings, but the difference between Michael and Jeremiel was vast, as the gap between an archangel and the chief of all archangels was simply too great.
“If we must fight… then so be it,” Michael muttered with bitterness.
Right after, he shot forward at terrifying speed, flying straight toward Jeremiel like an arrow.
“S-Stop him! Kill the traitors of our kin!” Jeremiel shouted at the fallen angels in panic.
And with that, the battle officially began.
WAAAAAAAH!
A deafening roar rang out as countless fallen angels took flight, unleashing war cries filled with bloodlust.
Siegfried was not about to sit still and just watch. At this point, there was no turning back. It was do or die.
“All forces, charge.”
As soon as he gave the command, the Allied Forces responded in kind, unleashing a full-scale assault against the Celestial Forces.
The fallen angels had descended upon the Middle Realm, and now, the mortals of the realm were fighting to protect their world. The clash between these two forces was soon to be the greatest war the world had ever seen since the dawn of creation.
***
At the same time, the Demon Realm was in full battle readiness, closely monitoring every change occurring in the Middle Realm.
Under the command of the Demon King, Siegfried von Proa, they had been preparing to execute the secret operation titled “Operation: Total Annihilation of the Celestial Realm.”
They waited and waited until their endless wait was finally brought to an end by the arrival of a messenger.
“The fallen angels have descended upon the Middle Realm.”
The report was soon delivered to the council chambers, where the demon lords had gathered.
“Finally!”
“Ah!”
Belial, the second most powerful demon in the Demon Realm, and Metatron, the third most powerful demon, shot up to their feet. This was the worst-case scenario, but it was also the long-awaited first full-scale demon invasion of the Celestial Realm.
“Vice Commander Metatron!” Belial called out.
“Yes, Supreme Commander!” Metatron responded promptly to the call.
“Activate the warp gate to the Celestial Realm at once.”
“As you command, Supreme Commander!”
Carrying Belial’s command, Metatron turned and rushed toward the warp gate.
‘It’s finally time!’
His feet barely stayed on the ground as he practically flew toward the warp gate.
‘Please watch over me, Father!’
Metatron burned with determination. He longed to distinguish himself in this operation to decimate the Celestial Realm and become a son his father could be proud of.
If he could prove himself in this historical battle… if he could crush the fallen angels with his own hands, then perhaps he could redeem the past mistakes that had brought shame upon himself and disappointment to his father.
Meanwhile, Belial turned his gaze upon the Demon Lords gathered before him and addressed them, “From this moment on, we shall begin Operation: Total Annihilation of the Celestial Realm. Everyone should remain composed and hold their positions.
“This is a once-in-an-eternity opportunity to burn the stronghold of those cursed bastards to ashes. I will not tolerate any mistakes.”
“Yes, Supreme Commander!”
Normally, the demon lords were an ungovernable bunch, as their chaotic natures obeyed no one’s command, but that was not the case today. Each and every one of these demon lords knew that there was no room for ego or defiance at this moment.
For once, they willingly obeyed and followed the commands of another demon.
Why?
It was all because if they failed to unite now, the fallen angels would invade the Demon Realm next. Even these chaotic demons had to fall in line when faced with a fight for their very survival.
“Move out!” Belial commanded and strode out of the council chamber.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Heavy footsteps echoed behind him as the demon lords followed closely behind in formation. What started as a war between the Celestial Realm and the Middle Realm now involved the Demon Realm as well.
The flames of war had spread to all three realms.
***
The battle was intense.
Millions of creatures from both sides clashed, and the collision of these two forces looked powerful enough to bring down the heavens and shatter the earth.
With both sides numbering in the tens of millions, the sheer scale of it all was nothing short of apocalyptic.
In fact, this war would end up becoming the largest recorded since the dawn of creation, one bigger than the first war when the mortals of the Middle Realm rebelled against the Creator.
And at the very center of it all was none other than Siegfried von Proa.
“Wipe them out! Kill every last one of them!”
Standing right in the center of the battlefield, Siegfried activated both Karma Flare and Embrace of Despair as he tore through the fallen angels without mercy.
The fallen angels were helpless before his overwhelming power.
None of the Low-Ranking, Mid-Ranking, and High-Ranking Fallen Angels could do anything against him.
Siegfried was now a Grandmaster, and he was a living catastrophe sweeping through the enemy lines, a walking weapon of mass destruction. With every swing of his +16 Vanquisher’s Grasp, dozens of fallen angels would fall to the ground.
At this very moment, he undeniably ruled over the entire battlefield.
“How much more of a monster is he going to become…?” Cheon Woo-Jin muttered, shaking his head in disbelief as he watched Siegfried fight.
Seeing him obliterate the fallen angels after becoming a Grandmaster made Cheon Woo-Jin feel bad about himself. Siegfried had reached a level where Cheon Woo-Jin could no longer reach him, and he was so far ahead that it was hopeless to even try catching up to him.
‘Damn it… We’re getting pushed back.’
Despite carving through the enemy lines and wreaking havoc, Siegfried was not optimistic about their situation.
The Allied Forces were losing ground.
It was only natural that the tide of the battle was turning against them, as the base stats of the fallen angels were simply too high.
However, that was not the only problem the Allied Forces were facing.
The real problem was none other than the archangels.
Yes, Siegfried had taken out several archangels so far, but there were still many who had yet to reveal themselves. Also, the most powerful archangel in the Celestial Realm, the Chief Archangel, Lucifer, had yet to make his appearance.
What if all of the archangels, including Lucifer, showed up?
That would be the end of this war. The power balance between the two forces would be instantly tipped, and reversing it would be near-impossible.
‘But why haven’t they appeared yet…?’
Siegfried was suspicious of why the archangels, and especially Lucifer, were absent from the battlefield.
However, he did not have the luxury to ponder it.
“Die, lowly mortal!”
“How long do you think you can hold out against us?!”
Dozens of Top-Tier Fallen Angels charged at Siegfried all at once.
However, he did not retreat, not this time. Now that he was a Grandmaster, even these once-powerful fallen angels no longer posed a threat to him.
Wooong…!
His +16 Vanquisher’s Grasp, now in its saber form, emitted a low, chilling hum.
“Get lost,” he muttered.
In the blink of an eye, he became a flash of light, blitzing toward the swarm of fallen angels charging at him.
Flash!
Siegfried vanished and reappeared behind the swarm of fallen angels.
Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud…!
The fallen angels collapsed one after another, their bodies bursting into fountains of blood.
Siegfried cut through all of them in a single blinding strike, his movements at a speed rivaling the speed of light itself.
“Thank you for your souls.”
He activated the Dark Abyss: Necklace of Greed and Betrayal to harvest the souls of the fallen angels he had slain before dashing straight into the heart of the enemy lines once again.
There, he cast Infernal Hellscape, unleashing hell itself upon the fallen angels.
C-Craaack! Chwaaak!
The ground itself split open.
Chwaaaaak!
Molten lava erupted from the cracks, swallowing up the fallen angels in its wake.
Fwoosh! Fwoosh!
Within seconds, a sea of lava had spread across the battlefield.
“Aaaargh!”
“Aaaack!”
“Kyaaaah!”
The fallen angels caught in the lava screamed in agony as they were consumed and incinerated into nothing but ashes.
The scene looked as if the fallen angels were being cast into hell to atone for their sins.
“M-Monster…! He’s a monster!”
“How can a mere mortal from the Middle Realm wield such immense power…?”
Even the fallen angels began to tremble and were unable to take a step toward Siegfried, as his mere presence alone gripped their bodies with fear.
Siegfried’s overwhelming strength instilled fear in the hearts of even the fallen angels.
He was now on a whole new level, incomparably beyond what he used to be as a Master.
‘Can I destroy it? Or is it too late?’ he wondered, turning his gaze upward to the Celestial Gate floating ominously in the sky.
If the remaining archangels and Lucifer had yet to descend, then maybe, just maybe, destroying the gate could turn the tide of the battle.
In fact, it could be the key to victory.
‘Let’s try it.’
Without hesitation, Siegfried spread out all ten of his wings and soared into the air.
If the archangels and Lucifer were to descend now, then it would be the end of everything. If he could just destroy the Celestial Gate before they descended, then perhaps he could still stop the destruction of the world he so loved.
