Debuff Master - Chapter 1122

Chapter 1122
It was a miracle. A true miracle had taken place. Michael, who had been killed by Lucifer, was now standing right in front of Siegfried with a bright smile tugging at his lips.
“H-How…?” Siegfried muttered, his voice trembling.
Even after performing a miracle, he had never imagined that Michael would come back to life, with all twelve wings fully restored, to boot.
“It’s all thanks to you, Siegfried.”
“Huh? What do you mean by that?”
“The Divine Demonic Vessel Fusion you have achieved possesses power close to that of my Father, the Creator. You were able to perform a miracle that brought me back to life with that power you wielded.”
“Wow…”
“Thank you,” Michael said, bowing his head in gratitude. Then, he added, “Because of you, my brothers and sisters have returned to their original selves. And I’ve been bestowed life once more.”
“No, it’s because of you, Michael,” Siegfried replied, shaking his head. Then, he continued, “If you hadn’t escaped the Celestial Realm and warned us, we wouldn’t have been able to stop any of this.”
That was the truth. There was no way Siegfried, the so-called Savior, could have stopped the destruction of the world if Michael, the Star, hadn’t come to warn him.
What if they had no idea what was about to happen and were caught off guard by the fallen angels?
They would have been wiped out before even putting up a proper resistance. In that sense, Michael was the true hero who had saved the Celestial Realm, the Middle Realm, and the Demon Realm from Lucifer.
“No, I only did what I could do. The ones who truly protected this world were you, Siegfried, and the other beings living in this realm,” Michael said. Then, he glanced at the demons and added, “…And I won’t deny that the demons also played a major role, too.”
“Haha…”
“May I make a request, Siegfried?”
“What is it?”
“Would you allow me to take the angels back to the Celestial Realm?”
“Well…” Siegfried hesitated for a moment, but then nodded in response.
There was no reason to refuse, and he had no plans of refusing either.
As he had just said, Michael was one of the key figures who had helped protect the world from Lucifer. Not only that, he even sacrificed his own life to buy time for Siegfried to complete the Divine Demonic Vessel Fusion.
In addition, Michael had suffered greatly throughout this war, as Siegfried knew just how painful it had been for him every time he had to kill his own brethren. Thus, it was only natural that he would grant this request without any reservation.
“Thank you,” Michael bowed his head once more. Then, he said, “I will take my brothers and sisters back to our home. I will do my utmost to rebuild our home and make sure such a tragedy never repeats again. Of course, there’s no need for concern now that you have cleansed them of the corruption that took hold of their hearts.”
“I believe you,” Siegfried replied with a nod.
With Lucifer dead and Michael reinstated as the Chief Archangel, there was no one left to challenge his leadership. This meant that the likelihood of the angels invading the Middle Realm was as good as zero, at least, for the next few hundred thousand years.
‘This should stabilize both the Celestial Realm and the Demon Realm now,’ Siegfried thought, certain that the era of war between the two realms was finally over.
He was the leader of the demons while Michael was the leader of the angels.
The two of them shared a bond that went beyond any racial animosity, so there was no reason for conflict to exist between the two realms now.
“I will visit from time to time,” Michael said with a smile.
“And you will always be welcome here,” Siegfried replied with a smile, too.
Siegfried was relieved to see that this long, painful war had concluded on a good note. They won the war, but Michael’s death weighed heavily on his heart. But now that Michael was resurrected, all seemed well again.
“Get home safely, Michael.”
“I will, Siegfried.”
Michael gave one last bow before turning to the angels.
“Hear me, my brothers and sisters.”
At his words, every angel across the battlefield turned toward him.
“It is time for us to return home.”
And with that command, every angel spread their wings and took to the sky, flying toward the Celestial Gate.
“Hey! Where do you think you’re going?!”
“They’re running away!”
“Don’t let them get away!”
Some of those in the Allied Forces tried to stop them, fueled by anger, vengeance, or greed for experience points.
However, they were quickly silenced.
“Let them go. There’s no need for more meaningless bloodshed.”
The moment Siegfried spoke, every single one of them fell silent.
Why?
It was all because no one dared to defy him right now.
“Belial,” Siegfried turned to the demon lord.
“Yes, my lord,” Belial replied with a bow.
“Gather the demons and go home,” Siegfried commanded.
Then, he opened the Demonic Gate, which was a massive warp gate leading to the Demon Realm.
In his current state, opening such a warp gate was as easy as breathing now.
“As you command, my lord,” Belial replied with another bow.
And so, the Supreme Commander of the Demonic Forces, Belial, gathered the demons and led them back home.
With that, the invasion of the Middle Realm came to an end, as each faction returned to their respective realms.
Of course, the aftermath was devastating. Hundreds of millions were killed, and half the continent was left in ruins.
But still, the long, devastating war was finally over.
***
The angels returned to the Celestial Realm, and the demons returned to the Demon Realm.
Ding!
At that moment, a notification popped up in front of Siegfried’s eyes.
[Alert: Congratulations!]
[Alert: You have cleared the main scenario of Brave New World – Holy War!]
With that, Siegfried had completed two of the main scenarios of Brave New World, becoming the only one to do so.
[Alert: You are a Great Hero!]
[Alert: Your legendary deeds will be etched into the annals of history and remembered for millennia!]
[Alert: Your name will be immortalized throughout time!]
[Alert: You are now the main protagonist of Brave New World!]
[Alert: All future storylines of the game will revolve around you!]
Siegfried had officially become the main protagonist of the game, Brave New World.
‘Huh? Me? The main character?’ Siegfried thought, overwhelmed with emotion.
Who could blame him for being overwhelmed? Just three years ago, he had been nothing more than an ordinary player, just another random face in the crowd.
Forget about being the main protagonist; he was a complete nobody. But now, he was the main protagonist of a game that hundreds of millions of people played, and its storyline would now revolve around him.
Ding!
Another notification popped up in front of his eyes.
[Alert: Your title has been upgraded!]
[Alert: The title I Am the Protagonist has evolved!]
The details of the evolved title were as follows…
[Main Character]
[A title granted to the main protagonist of the game, Brave New World.]
[Those who possess this title will have entire books of the Nurberg Continent’s historical records dedicated to them.]
[The owner of the title will have the honor of being the protagonist of the official novel adaptation of Brave New World!]
[Type: Title]
[Rating: Epic]
[Effects:]
[Greater Ordeals: The bearer of this title will constantly be swept into endless incidents and suffering!]
[Greater Fortune: Yet in return, they will enjoy fortune and luck on a scale no one else can ever imagine!]
‘A novel adaptation? Is the beehive really planning to publish a game-fantasy novel with me as the main character?’ Siegfried tilted his head in confusion, puzzled by the part about becoming the protagonist of a novel.
It wasn’t unprecedented, as there had been instances of popular game titles such as Starcraft or Diablo being turned into novels before.
Games being adapted into movies, novels, or comics were not uncommon at all. The reverse was true as well, as plenty of novels were adapted into movies, series, and games.
‘I don’t know if such a novel will ever really come out, but I hope the author has fun writing it. Then again, with how long this story’s been… it will probably take years to serialize it. What if the author collapses from stress halfway through…?’ Siegfried wondered.
Chuckling at his own thoughts, he descended from the sky.
Oscar rushed forward, knelt on one knee, and bowed her head before him. “Your Imperial Majesty!”
“Congratulations on this historic victory, my lord!”
Then, the entire Allied Forces followed her lead, dropping to one knee and offering their respects to Siegfried.
Even the Adventurers couldn’t help but be swept up in the atmosphere, as most of them knelt and showed their admiration for Siegfried.
Hamchi came scurrying over and shouted at the top of his lungs, “Kyuuu! You did it, owner punk! Good job!”
Siegfried’s beloved family, Brunhilde and Verdandi, stood behind Hamchi.
“You have suffered so much, my love.”
“Father! You are my hero!”
Even his comrades, Seung-Gu, Cheon Woo-Jin, and Yong Seol-Hwa came up to offer their heartfelt words.
“Congratulations, hyung-nim!”
“Damn, you really did it, Han Tae-Sung! You’re the main character of this war! I always knew you were going places!”
“Congratulations, oppa! You were amazing!”
Surprisingly, even his once bitter nemesis, Chae Hyung-Seok, approached him and offered his sincerest congratulations.
“Hey, good job, Han Tae-Sung.”
Siegfried smiled brightly as he took in the moment.
The game he loved had once been on the verge of shutting down, so it was only natural for this to be a deeply satisfying moment for him.
‘Hold on…’
Just then, he realized that he still had one last thing to take care of. He turned his gaze, and there that person was, standing silently and looking straight at him.
Thud… Thud…
Siegfried began walking in his direction.
That person, Beowulf, greeted Siegfried with a beaming smile.
“Great job, Siegfried.”
***
‘Oh? Look at this bastard.’
Siegfried felt his blood boil after seeing Beowulf act all innocent.
Lucifer was dead, and the angels had returned to the Celestial Realm.
With that, both the Holy Alliance and the Illuminati were as good as finished. The conspiracy that had been in the works for hundreds of thousands of years was finally shattered into pieces.
And yet, here stood Beowulf, the leader of the Illuminati, pretending like he was relieved that the crisis had been averted… that the angels were finally gone.
‘This guy… he’s got nerves of steel,’ Siegfried thought, dumbfounded by the sheer gall and cunning. Even now, Beowulf was keeping up the act and hiding his vile thoughts behind that friendly mask he always put on.
It was honestly pretty impressive how he could keep his act up without breaking character even for a second.
‘Well, I guess it makes sense,’ Siegfried thought, understanding why he looked so unfazed.
Beowulf probably still believed that he had the Rabbit Foot of Regression in his possession. He was likely planning to use that artifact to rewind time and undo all of this.
In other words, he was most likely still confident that he had not lost at all.
Of course, what Beowulf was unaware of was that Siegfried had already stolen the Rabbit Foot of Regression and replaced it with a phony one.
“Mind if we have a little chat, Beowulf?” Siegfried asked.
Beowulf tilted his head and replied, “Hm? What is it about?”
It was then.
“Yes, I think we need to talk,” Cheon Woo-Jin stepped forward, standing right behind Beowulf.
And he was not alone…
Seung-Gu, Yong Seol-Hwa, Daytona, Gosran, and all of Siegfried’s comrades quickly moved to surround Beowulf.
‘This might be shocking, but that bastard is the Leader of the Illuminati. Don’t let him escape, no matter what. We need to take him down.’
Everyone had received Siegfried’s telepathic message and surrounded Beowulf before the latter could make a move.
