Desolate Devouring Art - Chapter 1199 - All Killed

Chapter 1199 – All Killed
Everyone now understood the rules. Each segment of the wilderness training lasted ten days, making the entire trial on Avatar Star span roughly a month.
“Enter the green zone!” the Dharma Institute elder finally barked, unable to contain his impatience any longer. With a sweep of his sleeve, the green zone opened. A powerful spiritual array immediately enveloped the area. Once the disciples entered, the formation would seal the mountain range completely, only reopening ten days later when the teleportation activated on its own.
Three thousand disciples surged into the vast mountain range, tens of thousands of miles wide, and dense green vegetation blanketed it. The instant they crossed the boundary, they scattered like sparks, each rushing to hunt for jade tokens. Most traveled in small groups. Liu Wuxie and He Yingwu entered side by side, vanishing swiftly into the dense wilderness.
Not long after, Yan Bei and his companions stepped into the array.
“Yan Bei, should we follow them?” whispered a youth at his right. Besides competing for jade tokens, their purpose here was clear: their patrons had ordered them to kill Liu Wuxie.
“Kill him first. The tokens can wait,” Yan Bei said coldly. “Even if we start late, our strength guarantees a decent placement.”
“Agreed,” another chimed in. “He must be hiding a great secret to defeat cultivators at the pinnacle of the Transcendent Realm.”
The four exchanged grim nods and slipped away in Liu Wuxie’s direction.
……
Liu Wuxie led He Yingwu through a dense forest.
“Wuxie, Yan Bei’s group is on our tail,” He Yingwu muttered.
They hadn’t even tried to conceal their pursuit. The new rules allowing killing had turned this year’s training into something far bloodier.
“Don’t worry about them. Focus on the jade tokens,” Liu Wuxie said evenly. He already tracked their every move but pretended otherwise, leading He Yingwu deeper into the woods.
Activating the Ghost Eye, Liu Wuxie’s vision pierced the forest, sharpening every detail within a hundred meters. He suddenly flickered forward, reappearing at the base of a towering tree. With one firm slap, he peeled away the bark, revealing a jade token no bigger than an infant’s palm.
He Yingwu’s jaw dropped. The token had been fifty meters away. By all logic, they shouldn’t have been able to sense it. How did Liu Wuxie find it so easily?
What He Yingwu didn’t know was that the Ghost Eye captured every detail within its growing radius, granting Liu Wuxie vision no ordinary disciple could rival.
Liu Wuxie stowed the jade token, and the pair continued deeper into the range. All across the mountains, disciples spread further apart with each step. Yan Bei’s group lingered behind, biding their time until there were no witnesses left.
By mid-afternoon, Liu Wuxie had already uncovered five jade tokens, leaving He Yingwu too stunned for words.
……
Outside the sealed array, the elders of the three institutes watched a glowing Memory Stone. The artifact mapped every movement within the green zone, displaying the disciples’ actions like reflections on water.
“Doesn’t Liu Wuxie seem suspicious?” a Dharma Institute elder frowned. There were only ten thousand jade tokens scattered throughout the mountain range, an average of three per person. But Liu Wuxie had found five, which meant there were fewer for others. Some might not even be able to find one.
“I find it bizarre as well,” a War Dragon Institute elder said, disbelief in his tone. “It’s as if he knows exactly where they are.”
“Could someone have leaked the hiding spots?” Huang Shan narrowed his eyes at Ding Yi, suspecting him.
“Impossible,” the War Dragon elder snapped. “Even we don’t know where the sect hid the jade tokens.”
There was only one conclusion: Liu Wuxie possessed a unique ability to sense their locations.
Meanwhile, Yan Bei’s group trudged in sour frustration.
“Yan Bei, what are we waiting for?” one of his companions growled. Watching Liu Wuxie gather five tokens in half a day while they had none gnawed at their pride.
“Don’t you think it’s strange he finds them so easily?” Yan Bei asked coldly.
“It is. But so what?” another shrugged. “We came here to kill him.”
He brushed it off as a coincidence that Liu Wuxie could find five jade tokens in half a day.
“Do you really think it’s luck?” Yan Bei sneered. “He has a way to track them. Let him gather more, then we strike. Every token he collects will be ours.”
Realization dawned on the trio. Using Liu Wuxie as their hunting hound was the most brilliant move.
……
Unaware of their plotting, Liu Wuxie expanded his pace, Ghost Eye sweeping wider. His primordial spirit’s growth expanded its range to 130 meters.
By nightfall, he had gathered ten jade tokens. Outside, over twenty elders grimaced, except Ding Yi. No one had ever collected so many tokens in a single day. Even Mu Heng had found only two, while most disciples were still empty-handed. Exhaustion weighed on the masses, and many chose to rest until dawn.
“Wuxie, they’re closing in,” He Yingwu whispered tensely.
“So, they’ve finally arrived.” Liu Wuxie tucked the ten tokens away, a faint smile curving his lips.
Yan Bei and his companions surged through the trees, making no effort to hide. They fanned out, forming a ring around Liu Wuxie and He Yingwu. Excitement and greed flickered in their eyes; ten tokens in one day was beyond imagination.
“Liu Wuxie, hand over the tokens,” Yan Bei demanded. “Do that, and I might grant you a painless death.”
He had fully recovered from his injuries, and he didn’t want to waste words with Liu Wuxie.
Though Liu Wuxie’s attacks could rival the pinnacle of the Transcendent Realm, four enemies working in unison could match a first-level Origin Conversion Realm.
“I’ve been waiting all day,” Liu Wuxie said calmly. “You people truly have patience. Come, then.” He wanted to end this quickly; he still needed time to rest and attempt to break through to the Transcendent Realm.
“Attack together!” Yan Bei roared. Four blades slashed in from four angles, a net that no ordinary pinnacle Transcendent Realm cultivator could escape.
“Trash! Did you think I spared you at the martial field because I lacked strength?” Liu Wuxie thundered, leaping into the air. With a roar, he unleashed the Nine Heavenly Dragon Forms.
The elders outside froze as the Memory Stone mirrored his movements.
“Impossible! He’s been in the sect for only a few days. How could he already master the Nine Heavenly Dragon Forms?” a Dharma Institute elder exclaimed. When they joined, it took them an entire month to grasp even the first form.
Liu Wuxie soared like a true dragon, boundless dragon aura pouring down from the heavens. Yan Bei and his companions’ expressions turned ashen.
“What mastery! Could this be his first time practicing?” Even the War Dragon Institute elders were dumbstruck. Entering the threshold in days was rare, but Liu Wuxie’s display was on par with decades of practice.
Even Ding Yi, who knew Liu Wuxie’s monstrous talent best, could not mask his shock.
The first form descended, Dragon Subduing Tiger, and a barrage of roaring fists crashed down. Yan Bei’s instincts screamed, and he tried to flee.
“Die!” Liu Wuxie bellowed. Mercy had never been an option.
His fist smashed into the disciple on the right, reducing him to a bloody mist. At once, the Sky Devouring Divine Cauldron manifested, swallowing the scattered laws and energy for later refinement. The fight had become a one-sided massacre, Liu Wuxie baring his terrifying edge.
“Don’t kill us! We were wrong!” the remaining two disciples pleaded in desperation.
“Too late,” Liu Wuxie snarled. His body blurred as he performed the second form, Dragon Slither, leaving behind countless afterimages.
Outside, twelve elders staggered in disbelief. Two forms at once? Unthinkable. Had they known Liu Wuxie could unleash three, they might have collapsed on the spot.
Under Dragon Slither, Dragon Subduing Tiger’s power surged even higher. His fists struck from impossible angles. Yan Bei fought back with all his might, but his defense crumbled before Liu Wuxie’s assault.
Another pair of strikes landed. Now only Yan Bei remained, trembling, barely able to endure. At most, he could last three breaths before Liu Wuxie ended him.
He Yingwu stood to the side, stunned speechless.
“Liu Wuxie, you deceived us!” Yan Bei roared, terror twisting his face.
Liu Wuxie had deceived everyone. Though his cultivation remained at the Heaven Profound Realm, Liu Wuxie’s combat strength had already crossed into the Origin Conversion Realm.
“You can die now,” Liu Wuxie said coldly. He transformed into a divine dragon and surged forward.
Yan Bei’s last sight was the dragon piercing through him, stripping the very energy and laws from his body as though tearing flesh from bone. He closed his eyes and succumbed to the inevitable.
