Desolate Devouring Art - Chapter 1209 - Dont Hit Me!

Chapter 1209 – Don’t Hit Me!
The faces of the fifty-odd disciples turned pale with despair as the horde of astral beasts closed in. The demonic aura emanating from the beasts caused their bodies to tremble uncontrollably.
“Liu Wuxie, I was wrong! Please spare me! I only came to watch—I never intended to take your life!” Several disciples dropped to their knees, kowtowing desperately before him.
One after another followed, slamming their foreheads against the ground until blood ran, begging for mercy.
“Whether you live or die isn’t up to me,” Liu Wuxie said with a devilish smile. “That depends on the astral beasts. After all, those two summoned them.”
No one had seen how he had executed the Beast-Taming Art to turn the beasts against them.
“Liu Wuxie is right! The brothers’ beast taming must have failed! That’s why the beasts trapped us!” someone shouted.
The fifty disciples instantly cast their fury on Zhao Zhen and Zhao Hai, their faces twisted with rage. They were convinced that the brothers’ attempt at taming the beasts had failed, resulting in this disaster. If killing the brothers would drive the beasts away, then they would gladly tear them apart.
……
“Too vicious,” a War Dragon Institute elder muttered, fear flashing in his eyes. “With just a few words, he’s turned them against each other.”
At this point, even he felt afraid of Liu Wuxie.
……
“Don’t listen to him! He deceived us! He wants us to kill each other!” the two brothers screamed.
No one heard their pleas. They stood no chance against fifty-odd disciples, including two at the Origin Conversion Realm.
In less than three breaths, the mob ripped them apart, nothing left but scraps of blood and flesh. The thick stench of gore only stirred the beasts further. Low growls rumbled as the horde pressed in on the fifty disciples.
“What’s happening? Why aren’t the beasts retreating now that the brothers are dead?” Panic spread like wildfire.
Logic dictated that the beasts should have broken free without their masters. Only a few realized the truth that Liu Wuxie had seized control all along.
“He tricked us!” an Origin Conversion Realm expert sighed. “He used us to kill them.”
He had endured countless trials to join the Heavenly Dragon Sect, and to meet such an end was truly unbearable. The disciples who had retreated a hundred meters watched in horror. Many of those who had mocked Liu Wuxie earlier collapsed to the ground, shaking with fear.
Liu Wuxie hadn’t just subdued the horde—he commanded it.
“Could it be true? Can he really control this many beasts?” some whispered. Even with their own eyes, they struggled to accept the truth.
“He’s too strange. He mastered the Nine Heavenly Dragon Forms in mere days, and his true essence is terrifying,” others murmured. Words could no longer capture their awe.
“Thank the heavens I didn’t join them,” sighed many who had arrived late and missed Mu Heng’s recruitment. Their delay saved their lives.
Mu Heng’s face darkened. With the brothers dead, yet the horde still obedient, it was clear Liu Wuxie had taken command.
“Liu Wuxie, we’ve killed the brothers already. Can’t you let us go now?” one Origin Conversion Realm cultivator pleaded.
Others fell to their knees, voices cracking with desperation. None wanted to die. Some even cursed Mu Heng in regret—for without him, his scheme would never have dragged them into this.
“Let you go?” Liu Wuxie’s eyes grew cold. “Did any of you think of letting me go? You were eager to watch me trampled.”
Murderous intent surged from him and spread like wildfire. Since joining the Heavenly Dragon Sect, he had shown nothing but ruthlessness, never mercy. He intended to carve his name into their hearts, even if it meant overturning the world.
“Liu Wuxie, curse you! May you die a wretched death!” the disciples howled, their curses bitter.
The horde answered for Liu Wuxie. With thunderous roars, the astral beasts charged, tearing the fifty disciples to pieces. The slaughter was so brutal that even the twelve elders outside the mountain range turned their heads away, unwilling to watch.
In the distance, the onlookers scattered, fleeing as though Liu Wuxie might turn the beasts on them next. Fear had already taken root in their hearts.
Liu Wuxie had entered the sect as a mere Heaven Profound Realm cultivator, yet in these few days, he had shaken the world again and again.
The massacre lasted less than half a minute before the beasts dispersed. The valley reeked of blood, but not a single corpse remained.
When silence fell, Liu Wuxie calmly collected the interspatial rings, his face unchanged, as if he had done nothing significant. He Yingwu, however, could barely stand, his legs numb with shock.
From that day, Liu Wuxie’s notorious name spread like wildfire. No one dared to provoke him again. Even Mu Heng vanished from sight.
The mountain range fell eerily quiet in the following days. No one hunted astral beasts; none dared, for they couldn’t tell which ones Liu Wuxie controlled.
When the ten days ended, the disciples poured out of the yellow mountain range.
Shen Yue’s mind had been foggy throughout. Every time she regained consciousness, someone would hit her on the neck, knocking her out. As soon as her eyes fluttered open again, she whimpered, “Don’t hit me! I won’t lose control again!”
Endless fear had reduced the once-proud daughter of a planet lord to a scaredy cat.
As disciples began to pour out of the mountain range, many submitted their results, yet most hadn’t slain a single beast. Mu Heng had killed ten, enough to pass, but his face was haggard, and the ordeal broke his spirit.
“Big Brother Mu Heng, let’s go home. I don’t want to stay here any longer,” Shen Yue sobbed, throwing herself into his arms.
When the foul stench of her ruined body hit him, Mu Heng reflexively slapped her aside. Days of torment had turned Shen Yue into a wreck, making her lose control of her bowels. All twelve elders were male, and it was inconvenient for them to assist her with the change. Just like that, Mu Heng’s mortification began.
“I didn’t mean it, Young Sister Shen Yue,” Mu Heng stammered as he rushed toward her.
Shen Yue, tormented beyond bearing, wished for death. She knew Liu Wuxie was the cause of it all. The elders arranged for female disciples to care for her and provide her with fresh clothes.
When Liu Wuxie and He Yingwu emerged, the crowd hissed and drew back, unwilling to come near them. Fear of him now lingered in their heart.
In this wilderness training, Liu Wuxie had etched his name in blood. He had slain disciples in droves and even toyed with those at the Origin Conversion Realm.
If the others knew he had once toyed with Primal Origin experts back on Ancient Orchid Star, their terror would only deepen.
When the elders tallied the beast cores, Liu Wuxie ranked first, followed by He Yingwu in second and Mu Heng in third.
“Next is the blue region,” Elder Ding announced. “You must find Wisdom Stones. Find three to complete the task, but more is always better.” His gaze swept across the crowd before resting briefly on Liu Wuxie. His smile was bitter. He couldn’t decide whether to scold or praise this disciple.
Of the thousands who had begun, only a little over a thousand qualified for the third segment.
As the chosen disciples entered the blue region, those who failed could only beat their chests in regret.
“It’s all because of Liu Wuxie,” they lamented. “We didn’t dare hunt, so we lost our chance at the Wisdom Stones. With just one, I could have expanded my soul sea.”
For many with weak or flawed soul seas, this was an opportunity they would never see again.
However, they had lost their chance. After seeing Liu Wuxie command hundreds of beasts, no one dared hunt in the final three days.
“Elders, shouldn’t you punish Liu Wuxie for being so overbearing?” some of the failures demanded.
“Overbearing?” scoffed a Heavenly Martial Institute elder, stepping forward to glare at them. “Explain. How is he overbearing?”
Silence followed. Every disciple and elder had seen the truth with their own eyes. Liu Wuxie had never once started trouble; he had only retaliated when provoked.
Qin Ming led a hunt, and Liu Wuxie annihilated him. Mu Heng besieged him, and Shen Yue struck from the shadows, which resulted in her sustaining damage to her primordial spirit. In the second segment, the Zhao brothers and Mu Heng provoked him, and they died as a result of it.
How could any of those be Liu Wuxie’s fault?
From beginning to end, Liu Wuxie had never sought conflict. He had only defended himself.
……
When Liu Wuxie stepped into the blue region, he immediately executed the Ghost Eye. The stronger his soul sea, the stronger this technique would become. If it were to evolve into a mythical art one day, its potential would be limitless.
Even if it couldn’t evolve into a mythical art, strengthening it would still allow him to wield the Soul Capturing Art in the Astral Domain.
The world before him shifted. Every rock turned transparent under his gaze. Wisdom Stones were challenging to find, and even Primal Origin Realm elders relied only on luck. However, Liu Wuxie’s Ghost Eye could pierce the earth itself.
