Desolate Devouring Art - Chapter 1335 - Alliance

Chapter 1335 – Alliance
A massive black hole opened in the sky, and the surrounding space collapsed.
“Devour!” Liu Wuxie roared.
Mo Hong immediately lost control of his nether beast as the black hole dragged it in by degrees. No one had expected this outcome. They had anticipated a pinnacle battle, yet it became a one-sided massacre.
With that, Mo Hong lost utterly, but he refused to accept it. He remained determined to bite off a chunk of flesh from Liu Wuxie.
“Detonate!” he roared. The nether beast exploded, unleashing a powerful shockwave that swept across the sky and blasted open countless cracks in the black hole.
And yet, so what? Even though Mo Hong’s pill had already vanished, the black hole still stood. Soul Fire gushed out and devoured all the nether energy released by the nether beast, and Mo Hong’s pill dissipated into absolute nothingness.
The black hole slowly faded and condensed into a pill. With that, the alchemy event ended; only Liu Wuxie’s pill lasted to the very end, securing undisputed first place.
Blood trailed from the corner of Mo Hong’s lips. He suffered backlash from detonating his pill, especially when the imprint of his primordial spirit was burned to ashes by Liu Wuxie’s Soul Fire, and the recoil left a hairline fracture in his soul sea.
Cheers erupted from the Heavenly Dragon Sect, and even Zhuge Ming wore a rare smile. Liu Wuxie shattered a million-year record by taking first place in all three events of the Myriad Race Ceremony.
With a wave, Liu Wuxie summoned the black pill to his palm and cast it into the Sky Devouring Divine Cauldron. Most of its energy had been exhausted, and it dissolved into a mass of nether energy that sank into the depths of the desolate world.
Zhuge Ming had already run out of prizes to give. No one had expected anyone to secure first place in all three events. The rewards remained a seventh-grade spiritual pill set, hundreds of thousands of Pure Yang Pills, and millions of astral stones.
He then arranged for Liu Wuxie to enter the cultivation chamber, as the Divine Sun-Shooting Tower would open in three days.
Upon entering the cultivation chamber, Liu Wuxie didn’t hurry to cultivate. He shut his eyes to sense changes in the Ghost Pupil. In the Netherworld, he had lacked time, with danger pressing on him at every moment.
When his divine sense sank into his upper dantian, a black eye appeared in slumber. He felt it would be shocking the moment it awakened.
“So this is the Ghost Pupil, one of the Eight Divine Pupils?” Liu Wuxie murmured. The scene of the Gate of Darkness crushing the Heavenly Primal Wheel remained fresh in his mind, especially since even Avici Hell failed to destroy it.
After researching for half a day, Liu Wuxie found no clues. He also lacked information detailing the Eight Divine Pupils.
Tossing it to the back of his mind, Liu Wuxie circulated the Desolate Devouring Art. Seventh-grade spiritual pills no longer satisfied his needs, and consuming another would only raise his true essence slightly. He kept the seventh-grade spiritual pill to nurture others once he returned to the Heavenly Dragon Sect.
At this moment, discussion still churned above White Moon Valley about the past few months. Everyone from the Grand Unity Sect wore long faces, as Mo Hong’s breakthrough to the Void Realm meant he couldn’t participate in the Divine Sun-Shooting Tower.
As for the mission to kill Liu Wuxie, the Grand Unity Sect could only assign others.
A powerful gust seemed to sweep across the entire Indigo Bamboo Star as Liu Wuxie’s name spread like wildfire. Across the warships above White Moon Valley, everyone prepared for the Divine Sun-Shooting Tower.
“Elder Zhuge, the giant clan’s chieftain and the elven race’s elder, requests an audience with you.” Two unexpected visitors arrived outside the Heavenly Dragon Sect.
“Please, come in!” Zhuge Ming personally stepped out to welcome them.
The giant clan’s chieftain stood nearly fifty meters tall, and the elven race’s elder was an old woman hovering mid-air. When they entered the depths of the warship, a mountain range appeared. They were isolated from the outside world, and the three faced one another.
“On behalf of the Heavenly Dragon Sect, I’m grateful for your help today,” Zhuge Ming said, cupping his fists to the two. Without them, the Heavenly Dragon Sect would have faced greater danger.
“Elder Zhuge, no need for ceremony. The Grand Unity Sect killed our fellow clansmen, and we can’t just sit by and watch,” said the elven race’s elder. She had not acted solely to help the Heavenly Dragon Sect; the Grand Unity Sect had enraged the elven race by abducting their clansmen.
Moreover, Liu Wuxie was acquainted with their ancestor and had taught Vanya the circulation of magical force and two long-lost spells—Wind Erosion Magic and Doom Tempest. That guidance greatly affected the elven race.
The same held for the giants, as Liu Wuxie taught A’Lei and A’Li the pressurizing spiritual arrays, allowing the giant clan’s raw strength to multiply. They remembered his kindness.
“Let’s skip the pleasantries. Since you’ve come to seek me out, there must be important business,” Zhuge Ming said. He didn’t beat around the bush and had led this expedition only because he had no choice. Even so, he hadn’t expected the Myriad Race Ceremony to turn out so brilliantly.
“We’ve come to discuss an alliance,” said the giant chieftain, his thunderous voice making the entire warship tremble. The spiritual array here isolated all sound, so nothing escaped.
Meanwhile, the Grand Unity Sect’s warship also received uninvited guests. The planet lords of Sky Cloud Star and Tranquil Meteor Star arrived, and several other planet lords and representatives from intermediate sects entered the warship, too.
“Oh? Please continue,” Zhuge Ming said, his eyes lighting up. He had planned to visit the giant clan and the elven race to discuss a possible alliance, and their initiative suited him perfectly.
“I believe you know the current situation. The Grand Unity Sect has gathered an alliance to target us in the Divine Sun-Shooting Tower. Our only option is to join forces,” said the giant chieftain.
The Grand Unity Sect’s intentions were plain to see, including to Zhuge Ming. Liu Wuxie’s growth threatened many interests, and forces hostile to the Heavenly Dragon Sect would surely join the Grand Unity Sect to kill him in the Divine Sun-Shooting Tower.
The elven elder nodded, agreeing with the giant clan. Though the giants were powerful, they lacked numbers and a simple fighting style, leaving them with slim odds against humans.
The same applied to the elven race. They had to beware their dark faction in the Divine Sun-Shooting Tower as well as the Grand Unity Sect. The only force capable of contending with the Grand Unity Sect was the Heavenly Dragon Sect.
“That’s exactly my thought. How would you like to cooperate?” Zhuge Ming replied. The chieftain had struck his intent. Only cooperation would lead to victory; now was not the time to fight alone. Without unity, they would fall a step behind, especially when the Grand Unity Sect had gathered many forces on their warship.
“The Divine Sun-Shooting Tower has nine levels, and each level holds a trial. Participants must clear them to advance, and the Grand Unity Sect will surely try to stop us. We will be responsible for holding them off and helping the Heavenly Dragon Sect,” said the giant chieftain.
Zhuge Ming froze. The plan didn’t sound like three-way cooperation but rather unconditional aid to the Heavenly Dragon Sect. If the two races held off the Grand Unity Sect’s forces, they would suffer severe casualties. He couldn’t discern the giant clan’s and the elven race’s objective.
“I believe you must have conditions as well. Why don’t you go ahead and state them?” Zhuge Ming asked. The Heavenly Dragon Sect had little interaction with the two races; this was essentially their first real exchange.
Though they shared a common enemy, Zhuge Ming remained cautious. One must never harm others, but one must guard against them. It wasn’t that he distrusted the two races, but he sensed the matter wasn’t so simple.
“To speak plainly, we both have conditions,” sighed the elven elder, wearing a helpless look.
The giant chieftain nodded; there was a reason behind their offer to aid the Heavenly Dragon Sect.
“Please speak,” Zhuge Ming replied. As long as the terms weren’t excessive, he could accept them. This matter concerned Liu Wuxie’s life and death.
The sect master had already ordered him to protect Liu Wuxie’s life no matter what happened.
“That’s simple. Let Liu Wuxie instruct our clansmen in cultivation,” said the elven elder. Their condition wasn’t harsh; they only needed Liu Wuxie to guide their clansmen.
“That simple?” Zhuge Ming asked.
“That’s right,” the elven elder and the giant chieftain said, nodding.
Zhuge Ming didn’t know that Liu Wuxie had already brought about a drastic transformation in the two races by instructing the elves in their magic and the giants in the pressurizing spiritual array.
If their entire race could learn from him, their status across the Indigo Bamboo Astral Domain would improve by leaps and bounds.
Instructing the two races posed no difficulty, as Vanya, A’Lei, and A’Li had helped him immensely. For the two races, he had pointed out a new path.
“I can’t agree on his behalf; I need his consent,” Zhuge Ming replied. He couldn’t decide for Liu Wuxie and had already sent someone to fetch him.
Roughly fifteen minutes later, Liu Wuxie appeared in the mountain range. When he saw the giant chieftain and the elven elder, a glint of understanding flashed in his eyes. He had guessed why they came.
“Greetings, Chieftain, Elder,” Liu Wuxie said, bowing to the two. He was grateful that their races had intervened at a critical moment.
Zhuge Ming quickly explained the terms from the two races and said, “Liu Wuxie, this is your decision to make.”
“Seniors, you worry too much. I’ll comply with a word, and there’s no need to use a grand word like ‘instruct.’ Let’s consider it a mutual exchange,” Liu Wuxie replied.
Vandore was his friend, and he would not refuse to instruct the descendants of that ancestor. As for the giant clan, A’Lei and A’Li had risked their lives to buy him time, allowing him to make a breakthrough into the Primal Origin Realm.
He would never forget that debt.
“That’s great!” The giant chieftain and the elven elder rose in excitement.
“But…” A hint of helplessness appeared on Liu Wuxie’s face.
“But what?” the elven elder asked, fearing Liu Wuxie might change his mind.
Even the giant chieftain tensed. This was the giants’ chance to rise, and they could not afford to miss it.
Three pairs of eyes fixed on Liu Wuxie, waiting for his next words.
