Desolate Devouring Art - Chapter 1343 - Eighth Level

Chapter 1343 – Eighth Level
The giants’ brutal slaughter forced the members of the demon clan and the abyssal race to fall back in fear. They knew the dwarves were no help now, after disastrous losses with hundreds already dead.
“Golden Demon Bear, go hold them back,” the demon clan’s commander ordered, fixing on two colossal Golden Demon Bears. Smaller than the giants but immensely strong, everyone expected them to stall the pair.
The two Golden Demon Bears roared and bounded toward A’Ya and her companion. Each step made the ground shudder as their demonic energy blotted the sky and wrapped the battlefield.
“You two, go as well,” the abyssal race’s commander said, sending two powerful abyssal devils to help the Golden Demon Bears hold off the giants.
“Young Master Liu, be careful!” A’Ya warned. Even after repelling the dwarves, she knew the next clash would be harsher.
“You two stay safe as well,” Liu Wuxie said with a nod.
The gate to the eighth level hadn’t appeared yet; once it did, he’d have a way out. Entering the eighth level would make it far more complicated for the abyssal race and the demon clan to kill him.
With the two giants engaged, the remaining demonic beasts and abyssal devils lunged at Liu Wuxie.
Wielding the Heretic Blade, Liu Wuxie charged into the ranks of the demonic beasts. He moved like a flood dragon; the spatial suppression failed to hinder him. With Ghost Eye active, the demonic beasts slowed and looked sluggish to his eyes.
“Kill!” He lifted the Heretic Blade and unleashed a strange attack before driving straight through. Each impact hurled a demonic beast away; tricky angles and footwork left them unable to defend.
The abyssal devils fared no better; their attacks couldn’t even reach Liu Wuxie. Many Primal Origin Realm foes swarmed, but none of them posed a threat.
Flesh and blood sprayed, dyeing the sky red. The sight sent nearby humans fleeing, stunned by Liu Wuxie’s display of strength.
“Has Liu Wuxie already become this powerful?” Grand Unity Sect disciples who had joined the battle stared with bloodshot eyes. Whatever they threw, he would brush them aside.
“Your turn next,” Liu Wuxie said, turning on the Grand Unity Sect disciples after cutting down dozens of demonic beasts. He cast the Great Spatial Mythical Art, sealing the area and restricting their movement.
“Retreat!” the Grand Unity Sect disciples shouted, sensing danger. They tried to flee, but Liu Wuxie was already among them. They realized their only chance was to gather more people and stronger artifacts.
“Leave? Did I permit you?” Liu Wuxie whistled low and accelerated. He executed the Dragon-Grasping Hand; dozens of dragon claws fell from the sky and tore through the Grand Unity Sect disciples’ defenses.
A claw seized a Grand Unity Sect disciple, lifted him, and crushed him to shreds. The Sky Devouring Divine Cauldron devoured all his energy and laws.
He pocketed the storage ring without a glance and went for the next enemy. The death toll climbed while the demonic beasts and abyssal devils stood by, watching the humans tear at one another.
“Liu Wuxie, may you die a terrible death!” the remaining Grand Unity Sect disciples howled. They tried to break free, but the dragon’s claws kept them caged. Each new claw claimed a life, and within a few breaths, only a handful remained.
As their energy and laws poured into his desolate world, Liu Wuxie’s true essence thickened, but his cultivation stayed the same. Even his casual motions now carried force near the Primal Origin Realm’s pinnacle.
In the distance, a massive gate appeared—the entrance to the eighth level. Nearby competitors sprinted toward it without hesitation.
“Die!” Liu Wuxie knew he had to end this quickly or fall behind. With so many experts present, anyone could take first in the Divine Sun-Shooting Tower.
The dragon claws fell again, and the remaining Grand Unity Sect disciples died where they stood.
“Leave ten great demonic beasts to hold Liu Wuxie here and keep him from reaching the eighth level. The rest, follow me!” the demon clan’s commander ordered. The rearguard only needed to buy a few minutes.
The abyssal race also sent abyssal devils to hold Liu Wuxie back with the sole aim of buying time.
The fight on the giants’ side peaked. Neither side gained the upper hand, and killing the two Golden Demon Bears would not be easy.
“You think trash like you can stop me?” Liu Wuxie sneered as countless Demonic Purgatory Chains shot out and wrapped the abyssal devils and demonic beasts left behind.
When the Demonic Purgatory Chains were pulled back, the abyssal devils and demonic beasts vanished into the Sky Devouring Divine Cauldron. There had been too many demonic beasts earlier, and Liu Wuxie risked backlash by summoning the Demonic Purgatory Chains.
With a flicker, Liu Wuxie appeared before A’Ya and the other giant. He raised the Heretic Blade and unleashed a powerful blade ray that locked onto a Golden Demon Bear.
The blade ray tore through space. After absorbing so many demonic beasts and abyssal devils, Liu Wuxie’s combat strength had grown even more terrifying.
The Golden Demon Bear split in two, blood splashing in all directions.
“Brother Liu, hurry and go! Leave the rest to us!” A’Ya roared. If he fell behind now, catching up wouldn’t be easy.
“Okay!” Liu Wuxie said, and then he vanished after killing the Golden Demon Bears.
The abyssal devils were no match for A’Ya and the other giant. Liu Wuxie was confident they would finish them soon, so he saw no reason to linger.
When Liu Wuxie stepped into the gate to the eighth level, a violent surge of power swept over him. Suppression closed from all directions, and his legs turned heavy.
Space here was terrifyingly firm; every step felt like a great weight. Those ahead struggled, and the weaker coughed blood, faces paling as their chance at first place slipped away.
Even the demonic beasts had trouble keeping pace. When they saw Liu Wuxie, the demonic beasts gritted their teeth. The spatial pressure here was overwhelming; each step drained their strength, leaving little energy to fight.
Liu Wuxie drew a deep breath, and he had to adapt quickly. Circulating the True Dragon Physique, he blunted the suppression. With a physique rivaling the Void Realm, he quickened, caught the demonic beasts, and passed them, drawing frustrated roars.
However, the demonic beasts couldn’t do anything; resisting the suppression took all their focus. To their surprise, dozens of humans led the way—not the demon clan or the abyssal race—and their physiques were no weaker than Liu Wuxie’s.
Many clutched their heads and wailed as pain tore at their soul sea. Those who couldn’t bear it fainted. The demon clan and the abyssal race howled under the same pressure.
Liu Wuxie unfolded the Heavenly Dao Book, which negated the pressure on his primordial spirit. His speed increased as he left the demonic beasts and abyssal devils behind.
“He’s a monster! Doesn’t his primordial spirit feel any suppression at all?” a few humans asked in awe as they moved at the same pace as the demon clan.
Suddenly, a spear streaked toward Liu Wuxie from nowhere. Though the eighth level’s suppression was strong, the spear barely slowed.
“Freeze,” Liu Wuxie murmured, tapping his finger. A cold ray shot out, forming a shield that caught the spear. He tracked its line, eyes burning with murderous intent.
“You’re courting death!” he growled. A disciple of the Grand Unity Sect had attacked. Liu Wuxie didn’t hesitate; he executed Soul Spear—a deadly soul attack.
“ARGH!” the Grand Unity Sect disciple screamed. With his primordial spirit already suppressed, he had no strength to resist. Blood poured from his orifices as he collapsed; no one saw how Liu Wuxie struck.
“A soul attack? He still has spare soul energy to strike?!” the watching humans gasped, horrified. They struggled to protect themselves under the same suppression, let alone launch soul attacks.
“He’s a monster!” many cried out. There was no comparison between Liu Wuxie and the rest.
After killing the disciple, Liu Wuxie pressed on and cast Ghost Eye to search for the gate to the ninth level. Whoever reached it first would hold a significant advantage, and no one knew what treasures lay on the ninth level—only that they would be rare and bountiful.
“Liu Wuxie’s speed seems to be increasing…” someone murmured. They were all slowing down as their true essence drained. They had to rely on pills to keep pushing forward. However, Liu Wuxie increased his pace instead of slowing down.
The demon clan gritted their teeth in anger, left far behind.
Ignoring the voices behind him, Liu Wuxie stopped and cut left. Reading the flow of artifact runes, he calculated the gate to the ninth level lay ahead. Then, he pivoted and set off again.
“Liu Wuxie is changing course. Should we follow him?” the other humans said, quickly shifting direction to stay on his trail.
After all, many had seen Liu Wuxie find the gate to the seventh level with ease back on the sixth.
Ignoring the others, Liu Wuxie pushed forward, sweat streaking with every step. Sweat drenched him; the Heavenly Dao Book could only negate the pressure on his primordial spirit, so he still had to withstand the spatial suppression on him.
