Desolate Devouring Art - Chapter 1433 - Demon-Suppressing Artifact

Chapter 1433 – Demon-Suppressing Artifact
Liu Wuxie released Luo Hai and A’Lei from within the Sky Devouring Divine Cauldron. From inside the cauldron, they had watched the entire battle between him and Shen Tian unfold.
“Wuxie, who was that?” Luo Hai asked, unable to suppress his curiosity about Gong Gong’s identity.
“A divine avatar. Don’t mention his existence to anyone,” Liu Wuxie said, giving the two a strict gag order.
After all, Gong Gong was his greatest hidden trump card; with him around, Liu Wuxie still had a chance of survival even if he ended up running into experts at the high levels of the Earth Immortal Realm. Gong Gong was also one of the reasons he had dared to bring Luo Hai and A’Lei to Tranquil Meteor Star in the first place.
A’Lei nodded immediately, accepting Liu Wuxie’s instruction without a single question. As for Luo Hai, since he had already chosen to follow Liu Wuxie, he naturally obeyed the order without the slightest hesitation.
“Let’s head out,” Liu Wuxie said as he opened the cultivation chamber’s door. He hadn’t fully refined the Universal Gourd yet, but he felt no need to rush.
Shen Tian had spent centuries refining only one-third of the gourd, which showed just how difficult it would be to refine the Universal Gourd in its entirety.
The instant Liu Wuxie stepped out of the cultivation chamber, the nearby cultivators all froze in stunned silence.
“I-It’s Liu Wuxie!” someone stammered. When the rumor had spread that the planet lord had killed Liu Wuxie, those who fled earlier had all returned to rebuild the planet lord’s residence.
When they saw that Liu Wuxie was still alive, panic erupted as chaos swept through the crowd. Everyone scattered for their lives, as his appearance could only mean one thing—the planet lord was dead.
Liu Wuxie made no move to massacre them, as most of them were ordinary cultivators. With Shen Tian already dead, the Tranquil Meteor Star became an ownerless planet. He even found himself wondering how things would be if he gained the Tranquil Meteor Star’s acknowledgement and could borrow its world force in battle.
The Tranquil Meteor Star was a second-tier planet, however, and with his current cultivation, the planet itself couldn’t recognize him.
“Liu Wuxie, where’s my father?” Shen Yue demanded as she rushed over and planted herself in front of him.
She had personally watched her father capture Liu Wuxie into the gourd, so in her mind, there was no way he ought to be standing here alive.
“Shen Yue, this all began because of you, but I don’t want to kill you. You can destroy your own cultivation,” Liu Wuxie said. It was finally time to settle their feud.
They had joined the Heavenly Dragon Sect together, yet Shen Yue and Mu Ye had repeatedly targeted him simply because he had stolen their limelight.
With Liu Wuxie’s current cultivation, he could crush the couple as easily as pinching an ant, but he had never lowered himself to their level from the very beginning.
The Tranquil Meteor Star had sent assassins after him, worked with the Grand Unity Sect to trap him at the Myriad Race Ceremony, and even sent people to abduct his sworn brother. Those were sins Liu Wuxie could never forgive.
If the Tranquil Meteor Star hadn’t gone after his sworn brother, he might not have bothered to come for Shen Tian and Mu Ye at all.
“Liu Wuxie, I’ll kill you!” Shen Yue screamed, charging at him like a madwoman. From his words alone, she had already guessed that her father was dead.
Luo Hai stepped forward in a flash and struck her with a palm, sending her flying and shattering her dantian. A single instant was all it took for a crushing blow to destroy her cultivation.
When the three left the main hall, they immediately began their journey to the Sky Cloud Star to prevent Mu Ye from escaping.
A few days earlier, Mu Ye had received a transmission from Shen Tian claiming that he had already captured Liu Wuxie. Upon hearing the news, Mu Ye’s mood lifted instantly, as he was just about to pack up and flee the Sky Cloud Star.
……
“Liu Wuxie, I curse that you’ll die a horrible death!” Shen Yue roared in the main hall, her hair disheveled. With her cultivation crippled, it would only be a matter of time before she fell prey to Shen Tian’s enemies. Over the years, Shen Tian wielded his status as planet lord wantonly, offending countless people as a result.
The Sky Cloud Star lay not far from the Tranquil Meteor Star; the two planets were practically neighbors. Even without teleportation arrays, someone could travel from one to the other within a day.
To save time, Liu Wuxie’s group of three used the teleportation array and arrived on the Sky Cloud Star in just an hour. News of Shen Tian’s death had yet to reach this planet.
When the three emerged from the teleportation array, they shot out like lightning bolts, moving at extreme speeds. To move faster, Liu Wuxie even put A’Lei into the Universal Gourd during the journey.
The Sky Cloud Star was roughly the same size as the Tranquil Meteor Star. However, by tearing through space, Liu Wuxie took only an hour to reach Planet Lord City.
Unlike the Tranquil Meteor Star, the Sky Cloud Star’s planet lord’s residence was an enormous complex known as the Planet Lord City itself. Mu Ye served as both the planet lord of the Sky Cloud Star and the lord of this city.
Upon entering the city, Liu Wuxie’s group didn’t even need to ask directions; the tallest structure in the entire city was definitely Mu Ye’s residence.
Liu Wuxie and Luo Hai crossed the ten thousand meters of distance between them and the manor in the blink of an eye, arriving directly before the City Lord Manor.
“Who are you?” the guards demanded as soon as Liu Wuxie and Luo Hai appeared.
“Die!” Luo Hai struck without wasting a word, killing both guards before they had time to react.
The gates of the City Lord Manor swung open, and Liu Wuxie strode straight inside.
In an instant, the entire City Lord Manor was thrown into an uproar as experts poured out from all directions. The manor sprawled across tens of thousands of square meters and could accommodate thousands of residents.
Without exception, these gathered cultivators were the elite experts of the Sky Cloud Star whom Mu Ye had recruited over the years.
Liu Wuxie opened the Universal Gourd and released A’Lei, who let loose a terrifying aura that rolled outward.
“It’s Liu Wuxie!” the arriving cultivators cried out, recognizing him at a glance.
Mu Ye had been leisurely sipping his tea when he trembled at the sound of Liu Wuxie’s name and shot to his feet. Shen Tian had sent him a message a few days ago saying that Liu Wuxie was dead, so why was he here now?
A wave of dread surged through Mu Ye’s heart, but he had no time to dwell on it. He rushed out of the main hall immediately.
“I don’t want to start a needless massacre. This is between Mu Ye and me. Get lost if you don’t want to die here,” Liu Wuxie said, sweeping his gaze over the crowd. He gave everyone one final chance to leave. Aside from a few low-level Earth Immortal Realm cultivators who could probably pose a threat to him, he could wipe everyone else out with a single strike.
“What arrogance!” the surrounding experts shouted. Although they all knew Liu Wuxie’s name, they didn’t feel much fear. In their eyes, Liu Wuxie’s current achievements existed only because he was Hua Feiyu’s disciple.
The moment those words fell, several experts at the low levels of the Earth Immortal Realm launched attacks at Liu Wuxie and Luo Hai. As for the Void Realm cultivators, they all charged at A’Lei, and a fierce battle erupted on the spot.
“You’re all courting death,” Liu Wuxie said coldly. He didn’t even bother to use the Universal Gourd and instead unleashed the Dragon-Grasping Hand, manifesting thousands of dragon claws. Though he hadn’t broken through again, his strength had soared after killing Shen Tian.
Rumbling echoed across the manor as every descending dragon claw claimed a life. Whether at the high levels of the Void Realm, the Primal Origin Realm, or even the low levels of the Earth Immortal Realm, no one could withstand the onslaught.
“What terrifying power…” Those watching from afar turned pale and retreated frantically, not daring to approach. They had just witnessed Liu Wuxie slaughter more than a hundred people in a single attack.
Corpses soon carpeted the ground, and blood pooled into streams, dyeing over half of the City Lord Manor in crimson.
The heavy stench of blood filled the air and alarmed the entire Planet Lord City. Countless gazes turned toward the City Lord Manor, but most had no idea what was happening.
“I heard someone shout ‘Liu Wuxie,'” one cultivator said as more people gathered outside the manor’s gates. None of them dared to enter; they could only listen from a distance and faintly make out Liu Wuxie’s name.
“Could it be that Liu Wuxie really killed his way over here?” Many people already knew about the grudge between Liu Wuxie and the Sky Cloud Star. They just hadn’t expected Liu Wuxie to actually have the courage to attack the planet lord’s residence.
“This is strange. The Grand Unity Sect must have sent their expert here days ago, but where are they?” another asked suspiciously.
The Grand Unity Sect indeed had dispatched an expert to this place a few days earlier, yet that expert was nowhere to be seen. More and more cultivators gathered outside the City Lord Manor, trying to figure out what was going on.
In truth, the Grand Unity Sect had sent an expert, but that person was currently too occupied to lend any help.
As the slaughter continued, one expert after another fell beneath Liu Wuxie’s hand. This was his style. Once he attacked, he held nothing back.
“Liu Wuxie, stop this at once!” Mu Ye’s voice thundered like a raging dragon as he flew out from the main hall, with Mu Heng right behind him.
Mu Heng couldn’t put his feelings into words when he saw Liu Wuxie. He couldn’t help wondering how things would look now if he had chosen to befriend Liu Wuxie instead of making an enemy of him.
When Mu Ye finally appeared, Liu Wuxie halted his attacks. The surrounding cultivators retreated quickly, their hearts pounding as they stared at the corpses of their fallen companions.
If the planet lord had come out a few minutes later, everyone present would have died at Liu Wuxie’s hands. In just a few moves, Liu Wuxie slew more than seventy experts, including six cultivators at the first-level Earth Immortal Realm.
“Mu Ye, I bet you didn’t expect me to show up, did you?” Liu Wuxie said with a grin, his gaze carrying a faint mockery.
Looking at Liu Wuxie, Mu Ye’s heart twisted with a mix of emotions. He had personally watched Liu Wuxie grow stronger step by step, and every expert he had sent to kill him had died instead.
Back at the Myriad Race Ceremony, he had a chance to finish Liu Wuxie off, but the latter had escaped.
When they chose to cooperate with the Lingqiong Clan, they had believed their scheme to be flawless, yet no one had anticipated that Liu Wuxie would crack the Undying Chessboard.
It felt as though Liu Wuxie could walk out alive from any deathtrap set against him.
“So even Shen Tian failed to kill you,” Mu Ye said, taking a deep breath to steady himself. He knew exactly how terrifying Shen Tian’s Universal Gourd was, and for Liu Wuxie to break free from it was no simple feat.
Likewise, Mu Ye possessed extraordinary means of his own, which was how he had become the Sky Cloud Star’s planet lord.
“Make your move,” Liu Wuxie said. He had no interest in further chatter. Once Mu Ye died, the two planets would fall neatly into the Heavenly Dao Society’s hands.
He began silently communicating with the Universal Gourd. If he couldn’t defeat Mu Ye head-on, he would immediately use the gourd to capture him.
As for Gong Gong, Liu Wuxie didn’t even consider summoning him. He could clearly sense that the divine avatar had entered a true deep slumber this time; Gong Gong had only awakened earlier because of the True Samadhi Fire.
Besides, waking Gong Gong now would be pointless. His cultivation was unstable, and he had already attacked once, burning through most of his witcher energy.
“Planet Lord, kill this ignorant brat! How dare he cause trouble in the Sky Cloud Star!” the cultivators of the City Lord Manor shouted, all turning to Mu Ye with hope in their eyes.
By now, they had more or less guessed that the Heavenly Dragon Sect’s expert was holding back the Grand Unity Sect’s expert.
However, as long as the Heavenly Dragon Sect did not intervene directly, they believed Liu Wuxie wouldn’t be a match for their planet lord.
As the tension mounted, thunderclouds gathered above the City Lord Manor, and a heavy storm loomed overhead.
A scarlet blade appeared in Mu Ye’s hand, letting out a sinister keening the moment it emerged, sounding like wailing ghosts in the dead of night.
Liu Wuxie’s eyes narrowed. He instantly recognized that Mu Ye’s blade was no ordinary weapon; its power was no weaker than Shen Tian’s Universal Gourd.
In response, he summoned the Heretic Blade, which released a dragon’s roar as though it wanted to shatter the very heavens.
When several pale ghostly claws extended from Mu Ye’s blade, Liu Wuxie narrowed his eyes even further.
“A Demon-Suppressing Artifact!” Liu Wuxie murmured.
This time, the sudden reversal caught Mu Ye completely off guard. He clearly hadn’t expected Liu Wuxie to recognize the origin of the crimson blade.
