Desolate Devouring Art - Chapter 1534 - Divine Devouring Pythonbeast

Chapter 1534 – Divine Devouring Pythonbeast
Converting a powerhouse at the Heaven Gaze Realm meant a great deal to Liu Wuxie. It proved that he finally had someone he could command within the Spirit Martial Astral Domain.
“Master, what are your orders?” Zhen Yiming respectfully waited for Liu Wuxie’s instructions.
“A batch of counterfeit Soul Pills has appeared in the Spirit Martial Astral Domain, and your task is to investigate the source,” Liu Wuxie replied. He still had to head to the Spirit Clan, so he had no time to investigate it personally.
The Skyward Gate had also been digging into the matter, yet they had made little progress. The mastermind stayed too discreet, as if they knew everything about the Skyward Gate inside and out, slipping past every watchful eye.
If Zhen Yiming joined the investigation, he could deliver a surprise. After all, who would ever suspect a powerhouse at the Heaven Gaze Realm?
“Understood!” Zhen Yiming said with a nod, then vanished from where he stood.
Silence settled back over the area. Two of the three Heaven Gaze Realm powerhouses lay dead, and Liu Wuxie had converted the last one into a devotee. As for the other Earth Immortal Realm experts present, every last one of them had died.
Liu Wuxie released Achiel, who had witnessed the earlier fight. Shock still flickered in his gaze, along with a deep respect for Liu Wuxie.
“Feathered Emperor, your soul techniques are too powerful! There won’t be many who can surpass you in the entire Spirit Martial Astral Domain,” Achiel said. He wasn’t flattering Liu Wuxie. It was true that only a handful of people in the Spirit Martial Astral Domain could kill two powerhouses at the Heaven Gaze Realm at the same time.
“Let’s not waste time and continue,” Liu Wuxie said. He offered no further explanation because the Nether Deity Harvest still held tremendous room for growth.
Ever since he had refined the Sacred Soul Flower, the Soul Forge Art had undergone a drastic transformation as well. The Soul Spear could now split into two, and that change shocked Liu Wuxie because it meant his soul attacks could strike two targets at once.
More patterns had surfaced on the Soul Shield, and they seemed to be soul runes. Yet those soul runes differed from the Loulan Race’s runes, and as for Soul Fire, its growth had turned even more terrifying, like a fireball that shot out and ignited even space itself.
Liu Wuxie remained in the probing stage. Afterall, the Soul Forge Art belonged to the Spirit Clan, and as a human, he had only scratched its surface.
According to Achiel’s description, the Soul Spear could manifest hundreds of spears when unleashed, and each one carried terrifying power. As for Soul Shield, it not only protected one’s own soul sea, but also could shield the soul sea of others as well.
As for Soul Fire, even Achiel couldn’t describe it clearly, since even the Feathered Emperor hadn’t reached the highest level of mastery back then. They crossed the mountain ranges on foot, skipping teleportation arrays.
Ten days slipped by in the blink of an eye, and news of the Sacred Soul Flower’s appearance gradually spread. Yet what shocked countless people even more was that not a single expert who had gone searching for the Sacred Soul Flower had returned alive, leaving the entire hunt shrouded in mystery.
“Feathered Emperor, we’re about to enter the Limitless Sea,” Achiel said.
After ten days, the duo crossed several planets and mountain ranges and entered the Limitless Sea. The Limitless Sea wasn’t water at all, but a boundless expanse of white clouds with many floating, abandoned planets, rising and falling.
“No wonder there’s no trace of the Spirit Clan on the map,” Liu Wuxie murmured.
Achiel told him that the Spirit Clan lived so deeply hidden that ordinary people couldn’t find them. The only threat the Spirit Clan faced came from the Black Crow Clan, and the grudges between the two races had stretched across generations.
Along the way, Achiel shared many things he knew about the Spirit Clan and the Black Crow Clan.
Liu Wuxie had seen the Black Crow Clan before, back in Nightmare City. Black feathers coated their bodies, and that was exactly why Liu Wuxie had mistaken them for the Spirit Clan back then.
“Once we enter the Limitless Sea, we have to be careful of the Divine Devouring Pythonbeast. They are fond of hiding in the clouds, devouring cultivators who pass by,” Achiel said. Even he would have avoided this route if he could.
The Divine Devouring Pythonbeast was far too terrifying, and its body was enormous. Its bloody maw could easily devour a cultivator at the Earth Immortal Realm.
Liu Wuxie’s eyes lit up at once. The Divine Devouring Pythonbeast was a rare species, and he hadn’t expected to encounter one here. It had been a long time since the Sky Devouring Divine Cauldron had advanced, and if he could refine the Divine Devouring Pythonbeast, he could raise the cauldron’s quality.
“Let’s go in,” Liu Wuxie said calmly, then flew straight into the Limitless Sea.
Achiel hurried after him, spreading his wings and overtaking Liu Wuxie to lead the way. Clouds streamed backward on both sides as they accelerated. The Limitless Sea held countless planets, each one with its own creatures, and they would need about five days of travel to reach the Spirit Clan’s territory.
The first day passed swiftly, and nothing happened. On the second day, the Limitless Sea turned violent as astral winds surged in from every direction.
“We’ve run into the Limitless Storm,” Achiel said nervously, his face drawn tight with tension. The Limitless Storm appeared only once a year, and they had flown straight into it.
“I’ll lead the way. Stay behind me,” Liu Wuxie said.
He moved ahead, activated the Divine Heavenly Feather Robe, and resisted part of the astral wind.
In Liu Wuxie’s view, Achiel should have stayed obediently inside the Sky Devouring Divine Cauldron and only come out when he needed him to guide him. But Achiel had stubbornly refused because he didn’t want to be with Gong Gong.
The aura leaking from Gong Gong made Achiel uncomfortable, and when he stayed inside the Sky Devouring Divine Cauldron, he could feel his soul trembling. The cauldron made him feel like he was sitting on pins and needles.
The duo increased their speed, and their true essence formed into a barrier that eased the pressure on Achiel. Airflow churned faster and faster around them, and when Liu Wuxie tried to release his divine sense, it felt as if the storm shredded it into pieces.
“What a powerful Limitless Storm,” Liu Wuxie muttered.
Clouds churned ahead, and the planets floating within them shook violently, as if the storm might sweep them away at any moment.
“Feathered Emperor, be careful. We’re about to enter the eye of the storm,” Achiel said, warning Liu Wuxie from behind. The Limitless Storm carried a core at its center, and once someone entered it, escaping became difficult.
The raging gale whipped through Liu Wuxie’s hair as the duo shot forward like two arrows, piercing the violent wind.
A loud buzz rang out, and silence swallowed everything as they entered the storm’s eye, where the tearing force vanished in an instant. From afar, the storm would look like a massive ring binding them within, leaving them without a sense of direction.
The storm raged on, and no one could tell where it would carry them. Their only choice was to break free of the Limitless Storm as quickly as possible.
The Limitless Storm stretched too vast, spanning tens of thousands of meters. Something dragged a planet over and hurled it straight at them, and if it hit, it would probably smash the two of them to pieces.
The planet wasn’t large, but it slammed toward them at lightning speed, generating sparks that wrapped it entirely in blazing flames.
The storm’s eye might have felt calm, but undercurrents still surged, and thin streams of gale disrupted their balance.
“Let’s go!” Liu Wuxie said as he seized Achiel and shot upward.
The higher they flew, the stronger the tearing force became. A terrifying beast appeared in front of Liu Wuxie, and it had been swept into the storm as well. The planet skimmed past the duo. Their backs were drenched in cold sweat from the narrow escape. Before they could steady themselves, a bloody stench overpowered their senses.
“It’s the Divine Devouring Pythonbeast!” Achiel cried out in alarm and froze in place, too frightened to move. Even as an expert at the eighth-level Earth Immortal Realm, he forgot how to resist in front of the Divine Devouring Pythonbeast.
Liu Wuxie narrowed his eyes. The Divine Devouring Pythonbeast looked even larger than he had imagined, and stone runes covered its body. The Divine Devouring Pythonbeast came from the same era as the Golem Race, so it made sense that stone runes sprawled across its surface.
Those stone runes wrapped around it so tightly that ordinary weapons couldn’t harm it at all. That meant anyone who wanted to kill it had to find its weakness.
Liu Wuxie turned around, and the full outline of the Divine Devouring Pythonbeast finally came into view.
He drew a deep breath. He had encountered spatial beasts and even fought an Azure Nether Crocodile before, and both had been massive, yet they looked tiny next to the Divine Devouring Pythonbeast.
At that very moment, a small planet drifted over, and the Divine Devouring Pythonbeast swallowed it. It devoured an entire planet with a single bite, so it was no wonder Achiel looked terrified.
As the suction force grew stronger, the two immediately lost control and were dragged toward the Divine Devouring Pythonbeast. Once the beast devoured them, escaping would become nearly impossible. The Divine Devouring Pythonbeast wasn’t a spatial beast, yet even powerhouses at the Heaven Gaze Realm couldn’t break through its defenses.
Liu Wuxie didn’t hesitate and kept Achiel inside, because the upcoming battle wasn’t something Achiel could intervene in.
The Divine Devouring Pythonbeast’s entire body counted as a treasure, and the Sky Devouring Divine Cauldron could barely hold back.
Liu Wuxie circulated his true essence and broke free of the suction force, regaining control in an instant.
However, the suction force surged again, stronger than before. The Divine Devouring Pythonbeast grew enraged when it saw Liu Wuxie breaking free.
“Hmph. You’re only relying on your massive size. Since I can’t tear through your body, I’ll shatter your soul sea!” Liu Wuxie said. He had no intention of clashing head-on with the Divine Devouring Pythonbeast.
Even with his powerful physique, a gap remained between him and the Divine Devouring Pythonbeast.
Although Liu Wuxie broke free of the suction force, he couldn’t easily escape the beast’s range. He drifted closer little by little as he searched for the location of the beast’s primordial spirit.
Once he moved close enough, Liu Wuxie finally caught a clear look at the Divine Devouring Pythonbeast’s face. Its head was enormous, and its gaping maw could blot out the sky when it opened. Its eyes looked like two planets hanging in the sky as it glared at Liu Wuxie.
If an ordinary person stood there, they would already be trembling in fear under the Divine Devouring Pythonbeast’s gaze.
Liu Wuxie activated Ghost Pupil, pierced through the Divine Devouring Pythonbeast’s hide, and located its primordial spirit. Its head looked gigantic, but strangely, the primordial spirit wasn’t in the brain.
As Ghost Pupil pushed deeper, Liu Wuxie finally found a primordial spirit the size of a washbasin lodged in the Divine Devouring Pythonbeast’s neck, miniature compared to the beast itself.
“So, you’re here!” Liu Wuxie murmured with a faint smile once he located it.
Two Soul Spears shot out at once and locked onto the Divine Devouring Pythonbeast’s eyes. With only one spear, landing an ambush wouldn’t be easy.
Next, he cast the Nether Deity Harvest and conjured a grim reaper that closed in slowly. Yet for some reason, fear flashed in the Divine Devouring Pythonbeast’s eyes the moment it saw the scythe, because the Nether Deity Clan’s scythe brimmed with deathly energy that made the beast deeply uncomfortable.
With a thunderous roar, the suction force swelled again, and Liu Wuxie flew straight toward the Divine Devouring Pythonbeast’s mouth.
