Desolate Devouring Art - Chapter 1594 - Converting the Three Elders

Chapter 1594 – Converting the Three Elders
The instant the three elders learned Liu Wuxie had come to break their curses, thunderous cries of excitement rolled through the palace and resounded along its corridors.
“Kid, you’re not lying to us, are you?” Tian Can asked, keeping the clearest head among the three. The last time Liu Wuxie had visited, he had promised to undo their curses within ten years, yet only half a year had passed before he had returned.
“The world is unpredictable, and I urgently need all three of your help,” Liu Wuxie said, making no effort to hide his intent. He had come to Death Mountain to take these three under his command.
“Don’t worry about it. As long as you help us undo our curses, we will fulfill our promise of following you for three centuries,” Tian Can assured, a crafty smile flickering in his eyes.
They had agreed to follow Liu Wuxie for three centuries, but they had never clarified how they would “follow” him.
With Liu Wuxie’s intelligence, how could he not see through their deception? These three had been trapped here for too long, and they would never follow him obediently without safeguards.
“Since that’s the case, let’s begin with one at a time,” Liu Wuxie said, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. With his current means, restoring all three wouldn’t be difficult, but he chose to do it one by one for a reason.
“Big Brother, let me go first,” Ren Can said as he floated forward, volunteering to be first. Even if something went wrong, at least his elder brothers could still avenge him.
“Very well,” Tian Can and Di Can agreed with a nod, allowing the youngest to go first.
With a wave of Liu Wuxie’s hand, a wooden tub appeared in the center of the hall. He sliced a small gash across his arm and filled the tub with his blood. The Three Thousand Weakwater had become his blood, fused into his body, and that meant his blood naturally carried the power of the Three Thousand Weakwater.
The last time he had visited to borrow astral crystals, he already possessed the ability to undo their curses. However, he was only in the Void Realm, and controlling three quasi-immortals was impossible. Hence, he had chosen to wait.
Now everything had changed. The Nether Deity Harvest had formed his soul energy, the Soul Forge Art had shaped his primordial spirit, his physique had condensed from laws, and even his faith energy had become a spring within him. He poured golden liquid from the Spring of Faith into the tub as well.
The Three Thousand Weakwater could cleanse all substances in the world, including the curses on all three elders.
Tian Can narrowed his eyes. “It’s the Three Thousand Weakwater’s aura!” He hadn’t expected Liu Wuxie to possess Three Thousand Weakwater, and it finally made sense how Liu Wuxie intended to undo their curses.
Liu Wuxie instructed, flicking his hand, “Go in.”
He didn’t pour much blood into the tub; the Spring of Faith made up the majority. He didn’t dare forcibly convert quasi-immortals into devotees, as a backlash could erupt. The safest route was to mix the Spring of Faith with the Three Thousand Weakwater and let it enter their bodies to cleanse the curse from within.
With the Three Thousand Weakwater blended into the Spring of Faith, even a quasi-immortal wouldn’t be able to distinguish it. The Spring of Faith was no longer mere faith energy now; it had become several times more potent.
Ren Can hesitated for only a breath before stepping into the wooden tub. The instant he entered, searing pain tore through him, as if countless silver needles stabbed into his flesh.
“ARGH!” Ren Can screamed as new flesh budded and the missing parts of his body began to regrow.
Tian Can and Di Can noticed at once, and certainty surged through them. Three Thousand Weakwater truly could cleanse the curse from their bodies. They weren’t like Tian Wucang, who possessed the Curse Physique and suffered cursed-energy torment. These three had likely committed too many sins in their previous life and incurred heaven and earth’s curse.
The Three Thousand Weakwater could wash away those sins and restore them to normal. As it did, the Spring of Faith slipped into Ren Can through his pores, flowed into his meridians, and finally reached his soul sea.
Ren Can felt nothing about the intrusion, like a frog simmering in warm water, unaware. By the time he realized something was wrong, the faith energy would have already taken root in his primordial spirit.
Without him noticing, the Spring of Faith wrapped around Ren Can’s primordial spirit, and even he didn’t realize how dramatically his attitude toward Liu Wuxie was changing.
“It feels so comfortable!” Ren Can said, bliss spreading across his face. The pain vanished, replaced by the sensation of his lifespan steadily returning.
The three elders had been bleeding their lifespans away for years, and now that the curse had loosened, that stolen time began to flow back.
The process lasted a full hour before Ren Can climbed out of the tub with four limbs intact. His appearance also changed drastically; he now looked like a middle-aged man, even fairly handsome, instead of the monster he had been.
“Third Brother!” Tian Can and Di Can wept at the sight of their youngest sibling. After spending so many years in this lightless hellhole, they had almost forgotten how they looked before.
“Brothers, what are you two waiting for?” Ren Can urged them forward, waving them on. “Hurry up and get in!”
“Big Brother, let me go next!” Di Can said, and he stepped into the wooden tub without hesitation. Ren Can’s eyes already carried devotion, but Di Can didn’t notice. He and Tian Can were so overwhelmed by the joy of Ren Can’s recovery that they did not suspect anything.
An hour later, Di Can climbed out fully restored, his features mirroring Ren Can’s so closely that the truth felt obvious—they were likely triplets.
The moment Di Can emerged, he urged Tian Can to enter as well, warning him not to miss the best chance.
Tian Can hesitated and turned his gaze toward Liu Wuxie.
“What have you done to my two brothers?” Tian Can asked. He had finally caught the devotion in their eyes whenever they looked at Liu Wuxie.
“Nothing much. I only ensured that the three of you will never betray me,” Liu Wuxie replied bluntly.
“You’re courting death!” Tian Can roared, and he struck at Liu Wuxie without hesitation, aiming to kill.
Di Can and Ren Can moved at the same time, blocking their eldest brother.
“Big Brother, what are you trying to do?” Ren Can yelled.
“Second Brother, Third Brother, what are you two doing? I have to kill him so you two can regain your freedom,” Tian Can roared. He couldn’t believe his own brothers stood in his way.
“We are already free,” Di Can said, his tone firm. They had regained their limbs, their cultivation, and their lifespan. To them, that was freedom.
“Liu Wuxie, undo your control over my brothers, or I won’t show you any mercy! Even if I die, I’ll kill you today!” Tian Can snarled, and an immense aura radiated from him and made the entire palace tremble.
“You can give it a try, and in the worst scenario, I can drag those two down with me,” Liu Wuxie replied with a faint smirk. He flashed out of the palace in an instant, leaving the brothers inside to settle it themselves.
The three brothers turned against each other exactly as the Spring of Faith intended.
“Big Brother, if you dare to show disrespect to the master again, don’t blame me for being ruthless,” Di Can said coldly. In his mind, Liu Wuxie had become everything.
Ren Can didn’t speak, but his stance made his intent unmistakable.
With their bodies restored, their combat strength rose as well. With Di Can and Ren Can standing together, Tian Can had no chance in a fight.
The trio fell into a standoff. Tian Can didn’t dare strike, afraid he might harm his brothers. They had only just recovered, and he didn’t want to fall out with them again.
“Take them and leave,” Tian Can said, forcing the words out. He wanted Liu Wuxie gone with his brothers, and he never wanted to see him again.
However, Liu Wuxie had no intention of leaving. Tian Can held the highest cultivation among the three, and subduing him was the true prize.
“Senior Tian Can, I promise that I will return your freedom in three hundred years. I have only changed your faith toward me, but you all still retain your memories. You should be able to tell that Di Can and Ren Can still acknowledge you as their big brother,” Liu Wuxie said.
He could withdraw the Spring of Faith after three centuries and return their freedom then.
Tian Can wavered. They had already sworn to follow Liu Wuxie for three centuries in the first place, and Liu Wuxie’s action wasn’t unjust as a safeguard against betrayal. All Liu Wuxie had done was ensure they wouldn’t betray him.
“Big Brother, what are you still waiting for?” Di Can pressed. If Tian Can stayed there, he would never see the sun again. If he missed this chance, Liu Wuxie would never step into Death Mountain again.
Tian Can stared at his two brothers, envy twisting across his face. He still had only a head left—how could he not crave a full body?
“Forget it. I had had enough of this wretched life. I hope that you will keep your word,” Tian Can said with a long sigh, and he stepped into the wooden tub.
Three centuries meant nothing to them. It would pass like a snap of the fingers.
An hour later, Tian Can climbed out with his limbs restored. He resembled his brothers, but he looked more mature. The moment he emerged, a trace of devotion flickered in his eyes.
Liu Wuxie flicked his hand, and the wooden tub vanished. There was hardly any Three Thousand Weakwater or Spring of Faith left inside it.
“Young Master, what should we do now?” Tian Can asked. His attitude had changed completely, and he even began addressing Liu Wuxie with an honorific.
“You come with me to the Laman Astral Domain. As for Di Can and Ren Can, you two head to the Heavenly Dao Society with this letter. Someone will arrange everything for you two,” Liu Wuxie said, pulling out a prepared letter and handing it over.
With that, the four left Death Mountain together. When the Undead Race sensed the three elders departing Undead Star, joy spread through them like wildfire.
They split quickly. Liu Wuxie didn’t return to the Heavenly Dao Society; he chose speed and left with Tian Can for the Laman Astral Domain.
Tian Can disguised himself as Liu Wuxie’s servant and restricted his cultivation to the Void Realm. A quasi-immortal would draw too much attention, especially since Liu Wuxie intended to sneak into the Laman Astral Domain without alerting anyone.
This time, he planned to catch the Immortal Slaughter Palace by surprise.
Liu Wuxie and Tian Can stepped into the teleportation array. The last time Liu Wuxie had been here, his cultivation had only been at the Heaven Profound Realm. Now he was at the Earth Immortal Realm. He had fled the Laman Astral Domain before, but he returned to kill this time.
The teleportation array flashed. Everyone using it possessed high cultivation, with the weakest at the Primal Origin Realm. Back then, if Liu Wuxie and He Yingwu hadn’t had Elder Ding’s help, they would have died inside the teleportation array.
A few hours later, Liu Wuxie and Tian Can stepped out of the teleportation array, and familiar yet unfamiliar laws rushed into Liu Wuxie’s domain.
“Laman Astral Domain… I, Liu Wuxie, have returned,” Liu Wuxie murmured the moment he emerged.
