Chapter 442: Y-Y-Y-Y-You k-kn-knew? *
Early in the morning, as the snow outside had finally stopped after forming another fresh layer on the ground, Lavinia’s body stirred under the heavy blanket they were wrapped in.
The sun still wasn’t out yet and there was still an hour before Kael woke up and entered the Genesis Hive together with Imperia to train.
Then why was Lavinia awake?
It was because this was the only time in the day she had, the only chance where she was absolutely sure that she wasn’t going to get caught.
Thinking about it, Lavinia’s face turned red, even more when she stared at Kael’s completely innocent and peaceful face.
It all started as a necessity, a way to ensure that Kael wasn’t disturbed by his nightmares. The second time, Lavinia only did it to make sure he was alright, and the third time? She just wanted to be absolutely sure.
The fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth, they were all the same too. Yes, she was doing it all for Kael’s sake, so he would have a good sleep and his body would be well rested.
After all, Lavinia knew how hard he worked every single day. His body needed proper rest to function properly.
And if this was indeed the only way to ensure it, Lavinia would make sure she gave it her all without thinking too much about it.
With that thought in her mind, a determined look appeared on her face.
Their room was dim, lit only by the soft glow of moonlight that the snow reflected. She was lying on her side, facing him, her body deep in the arms of extreme comfort and warmth.
Kael’s arms were holding her close, one wrapped around her waist, pulling her towards his chest, while the other rested under her head like a pillow. Her legs were wrapped around his, one of hers was over his thigh for comfort, and her free arm was across his side, her fingers falling softly on his back. Her head tucked into the curve of his neck, where she could feel his light, gentle, and rhythmic breathing, telling her that he was asleep.
Finally, the Mage moved her head, her gaze falling on his face, tracing the lines of his jaw and the calm set of his eyes. Then, her eyes fell on his lips—soft and slightly parted in sleep.
Gulp
A strange warmth spread through her, and she gulped softly, her cheeks flushing a deep red with embarrassment. Even now, with him asleep, his hold on her was firm, as if scared that someone would take her away from him. It felt so ridiculously comfortable and safe that… Lavinia was having a hard time moving, and when she thought about what she was going to do, her heart felt like it was about to burst.
But even then.
She moved.
Her body shifted a little, making herself more comfortable in his embrace. She wiggled closer, pressing her body along his, her head now resting on his shoulder, her nose brushing his skin. Her legs intertwined more snugly with his, her thigh sliding between his for balance on the hard floor. One arm stayed draped over him, while the other slipped up to touch his chest lightly. The blanket shifted with her, cocooning them tighter.
Finally, with her heart pounding, she leaned in. Her eyes closed automatically, unable to bear how embarrassing it was.
But for his sake, she continued and… she pressed her lips to his in a soft, tentative kiss.
Ba-dump Ba-dump Ba-dump
Her heartbeat rose as their lips met, a soft, warm feeling encapsulated her. Having complete control over Kael’s lips and having the ability to do anything she wanted gave her… a strange sense of thrill.
Something that excited her.
Something that… made her addicted to it.
But the Mage knew she couldn’t continue for long.
As pleasant as it felt, Kael, in his sleep, breathed with his mouth. Any longer would interrupt his sleep and he might wake up.
Something that could absolutely not happen.
So despite being unwilling, the Mage finally started to pull away, content with her fill for the day.
But then—
Kael’s hand tightened on her waist, not letting her retreat.
Lavinia frowned for a moment, but then, she noticed Kael’s body leaning forward, closing the gap between them even further. Unlike her, who was being careful not to make too big of a movement, this one was rough, fearless.
And then, the final nail in the coffin—
The gap between their lips that had widened as Lavinia had moved away was closed again. This time, Kael pressed his lips into hers in a slow, deliberate kiss.
“!!!”
Lavinia widened her eyes in disbelief, her mind couldn’t process what was happening.
What was Kael doing!?
Was his body moving on its own!?
Was he dreaming!?
This had never happened before!
All these thoughts pretty much overloaded the Mage’s mind, and as if that wasn’t enough—
The soft, tender, and warm kiss that Kael had initiated began to change. His hand slid inside her top and moved up her bare back, pulling her even closer, and the kiss deepened.
Lavinia tried to resist out of instinct, but in front of Kael’s firm hold, it was useless. The kiss only grew hotter, more insistent, his lips parting slightly to draw her in.
His hand gently moved around her back, feeling every inch of her body, and with every single movement sending jolts of undescribed feeling into her body, the Mage felt weak.
Kael, on the other hand, pulled her weak body even closer, so much that not even air could pass through them.
Under the warm, heavy blanket, Kael’s tight, firm hold, and her own panic and shock, the Mage actually started sweating.
Ba-dump Ba-dump Ba-dump
Her heart felt like it would burst anytime soon now, and this feeling continued till Kael’s lips continued to ravish hers in every way possible while his hand made sure she couldn’t move away.
After a good long minute, their lips finally parted with a silver line drawn between them, and finally, Lavinia saw Kael grinning at her and—
“!!!”
Lavinia’s eyes widened in absolute shock as she realized that Kael was awake.
“K-K-Kael, w-w-what are y-y-you…”
The Mage stuttered, having a difficult time forming even a single coherent sentence and Kael—
He just grinned.
“What? So you can kiss me how much ever you like when I am asleep, but I cannot do the same?”
He asked a question and Lavinia’s eyes felt like they would pop out any time now, her face instantly turned deep red, resembling a tomato.
“Y-Y-Y-Y-You k-kn-knew?”
She asked.
“I did.”
And Kael nodded.
As if that wasn’t enough, after licking his lips and making sure Lavinia saw him doing it, he continued—
“I wanted to keep enjoying the service for a few more days by acting ignorant, but then today, I realized it.”
“…w-what?”
“I am the Father of Dragons, I need to have pride.
If I want something, I need to be able to declare it and make it mine, by force if I have to.”
The man then stared at Lavinia, his blue eyes shining intensely—
“And right now,
I want you, Lavinia Dragonborn.”
“W-W-What…?”
Lavinia froze, her mind lost the ability to think completely.
Did this man know what his words meant?
Was he still thinking he was dreaming?
Or is it her who is dreaming?
With all these questions overloading her mind, the Mage couldn’t say anything—
But it didn’t matter.
Kael wasn’t waiting for an answer anyway.
He just wrapped his limbs around her in a way that she couldn’t escape no matter how she tried, then, he gave her a small, slow peck on her lips and—
“So from this day forth,
You are mine.”
He declared, like the Father of Dragons should.
Then, he kissed her lips again and—
“You will live with me till our time in this world is over, then you will follow me when I return to my original world.”
He spoke, kissing her again.
“Once we are done protecting both our worlds and defeat all our enemies,
You and I are going to live the rest of life inside a big mansion at the outskirts of the city where no one would bother us, till we grow old together and perish,
And during all this mentioned time,
You are not allowed to leave me, not even once.
Is that clear?”
He asked, repeating the same action as he showered Lavinia with one kiss after another. It was almost as if he was influencing her mind with all these kisses, overwhelming her more than she already was.
“W-W-What are you…”
The Mage stuttered, she still did not know how to react, her mind had already started picturing every single thing he said, but her mouth could not prepare an answer she wanted to scream out loud.
And Kael—
He just stared at this woman with a deadpan look on his face and—
“I am asking you to marry me, Lavinia Dragonborn.”
He made it clear and finally, the Mage, using all her mental comprehension she was left with, came up with a single, desperate answer—
“Yes!”
