Dragon Monarch System - Chapter 1016:- Forgiveness Is Not So Simple

Chapter 1016: Chapter 1016:- Forgiveness Is Not So Simple
It was impossible for him to do anything without secretly craving the love and affection of his parents. But he never had any expectations about receiving parental love, care, and affection.
Aditya felt that in life, one cannot always have everything. Every person in this world always lacks something. Even the richest man can have anything with wealth, but there are still things that even he cannot have.
And given his current situation, he had no intention of reconciling. It was his Parents who pushed him away and exiled him. He had never intended to go back and make peace with his parents. That was not gonna help him. If anything, going back would make his parents feel they could get away with anything. Aditya wasn’t going to let them into his life and ruin his peace. At least that’s how he saw things before.
But now, just a few sentences changed the entire perspective of how he saw things before.
“My child, please forgive us…!!!” While hugging him, his mom sincerely apologised to him. She and her husband knew that a simple apology was not going to fix the horrible things that they had done to their only child. But she also believed that the path to redemption started with an apology.
Aditya did not reply. It would be impossible for him not to have any kind of resentment towards his parents, even after knowing the truth. He was not a saint who could just forgive anyone after a simple apology.
When he heard his mother’s apology, he felt very conflicted inside. On one hand, he wanted to say something nice to comfort this crying woman, who was his mother. But on the other hand, he felt deeply conflicted, which left him so overwhelmed that he could not understand what to say, so he chose to remain silent.
“Your father might not know the truth, but I have seen some things that might be related to the changes within us.”
Hearing this, Alen wiped his tears and walked up to his wife and son.
“Why didn’t you tell him this earlier?” Alen asked. He felt that if his wife had told him before all of this started, then they could’ve changed or regretted an entire Chapter of their son’s life. Their dear son would not have had to go through all of this if she had told him.
“At that time, I found Ren’s behaviour a little bit odd, but I did not think much about it as we were busy preparing for the Sky Dragon festival.” The Sky Dragon festival was an event that was held across the celestial dragon empire once every two years. Because of its historic importance, this festival was held in very high regard. Preparations for the event start almost 6 months before the event.
Hearing this, Alen let out a sigh. He felt that there was no regretting or crying over something that had already happened. But that also does not mean they should just forget the past and just move on.
“Tell me what you saw?” Alen asked in a serious tone.
“I caught Ren coming out of our bedroom. When I caught him, he had this very guilty look on his face. At that time, I was really busy, so I did not think much about this and moved on. I don’t know why, but after the Sky Dragon festival, I never even once thought of this event in my head.”
“We know that after this festival, the more years passed, the more our personal personality kept changing, especially towards our baby Aditya. So I feel like this was the start of whatever, due to us, that changed our personalities.”
“Why are you so sure that it was Ren?” Aditya had ample evidence to believe that his cousin had done it, but he did not understand why his parents came to the same conclusion so quickly.
“Aditya, when you have lived over thousands upon thousands of years, all that experience accumulates and really sharpens your brain. Not to mention, once Ren became the Emperor, he really stopped hiding or suppressing his true personality, even when he was just in front of us.”
“For example, his gentle personality when we were alone completely disappeared as if it never existed. He became arrogant, self-obsessed, and very insulting.”
“The biggest reason why we believe that this was done by Ren is that on the day when I personally placed the crown on his head, the crown clearly rejected him.”
“Looking back, because of whatever he did to us, I did not even question the biggest red flag. As I said before, we did not question anything. We just kept nodding our heads to whatever he was saying.”
“Why didn’t others say anything?” Every Duke of the Empire had to be present during the ceremony.
“Because the Ceremony, especially the part where I place the Crown on his head, was held in front of the Ancestral Shrine. The only ones present were me, your mom, and a few other men who were very loyal to him.”
“But the strange part was, he was able to sit on the Throne in front of everyone wearing the same exact replica.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if he had changed the entire Throne itself before the Ceremony began.” Alen and Elena nodded at Aditya’s words.
“My baby, I want to know more about you.” Elena and Alen wanted to hear about all the changes that had happened in five and a half years.
“First of all, let me introduce them.” Rin and Athena appeared before Alen and Elena.
The moment both girls appeared, Alen and Elena immediately recognised them. They had last met Athena back when Aditya was born. And during that Sky Dragon Festival, Rin had actually visited the Celestial Dragon Empire’s capital, and they had met each other.
“Athena, I did not expect you to meet Aditya.” Last they heard, Athena had gone inside a pocket Dimension to hide and recover her strength. And they were the only ones she had told where she was going.
What surprised them was the fact that despite being exiled to the six continents and Athena remaining in a pocket dimension within the main continent, they were able to find each other and were now together.
Athena gave a small hug to Elena. “Aunty, it’s a long story. I was chased by the same people that was behind the death of my parents. I went to look for my other half in the Six Continents when, at the Tunnel World, my other half was travelling to the Main Continent with Aditya to look for me.”
“Now, I am even more curious.” Elena looked at her baby son.
“Rin, you have grown more beautiful after all these years.” Elena pulled Rin into a hug. Rin smiled gently and hugged Elena back. Elena’s personality was still the same as it was all those years back.
“Alfred, I am sorry.” Alen hugged Alfred, his close friend and most trusted man. Yet, back then, he did not believe in Alfred.
“Your Majesty, please don’t apologise. I have no resentment towards you. I am very happy to meet you two here.” Both men had many things to say to each other but now it wasn’t the time.
But their attention came to Aditya.
“Aditya, how did you live all these years? Was it difficult, my son?”
“Obviously, it must have been really difficult. But your dad and I both want to know everything that happened in your life since we wrongfully exiled you.”
Aditya felt that rather than saying, it would be easier to show everything. He looked at Rin and nodded her head.
Rin nodded her head. She understood what he wanted. She snapped her fingers.
Snap!!!
The next second, the scenery around them completely changed. They were no longer standing on that small floating island. Instead, everyone was standing in the air with a massive City beneath them. They stood almost 100 meters above the City.
The City was truly massive. There were countless people walking on the street.
“Judging from the scale of the City, I estimate there must be between 5 and 7 million people living in this city.” Aditya’s dad looked at the massive Azure City and said to his wife.
“Well, your estimation is just a few million off.” The population of the Azure city was well over 10 million. And this figure was not an exaggeration. At one point, tens of thousands were moving to live in this city per day. If not for the fast construction of this world, Aditya might not have been able to meet the housing requirements.
The former Emperor could not take his eyes off the City. He felt the entire City was very well planned and organised.
Just a glance from above was enough for them to see the layout of the streets and the houses. The City did not feel crowded. Despite being so large, it was beautiful, giving one the feeling that this city might be the perfect place to live.
There was so much in this city. There were small patches of greenery and water bodies that only added more beauty to the City.
“These are Parks where residents can come and play or spend time. And these small water bodies are ponds of various sizes. Most of these ponds are used to raise and sell fish. But it also adds beauty and depth to the City.” As the creator and planner, Aditya patiently explained everything to his dad and mom. As he explained, he had a small, proud smile on his face.
“Impressive! Simply Impressive. Not even the Capital of the Celestial Dragon Empire is that well planned and organised.”
“Maintaining such a high standard despite having such a large population must be really difficult.” Aditya silently nodded his head. But it was all worth it.
“This is the Capital of the Istarin Empire.”
“Aditya is the Emperor of the Istarin Empire.” Rin then gave them a brief explanation about the past of the Istarin Empire and the shocking transformation that Aditya took the Empire through within just two and a half years.
Hearing that, both of them looked very shocked and surprised. At the same time, they felt a strong sense of pride in their son. Despite losing everything, their son did not stay at the same level. Instead, he rose like a soaring Dragon and built an Empire himself.
