“Buzz.” Primordial rays pulsed outward, visible to even the mortals back in Three Immortals.
The overlords saw them clearly. Some primal ancestors one step away from the next realm saw the silhouette of a gate.
“Primordial Gate! The brat should give it back!” An overlord shouted.
Another top primal ancestor said: “It’s the gate from the legends.”
“Isn’t this First Vine’s treasure? Why does he have it?” An old ancestor was surprised.
“Yes, First Vine lent it to Moneyfall.” A mysterious overlord whispered.
This gate was the only one of its kind – a pathway to the actual primordial tree. Not even Desolate Ancestor who could connect to the tree had one.
Rumor has it First Vine was born next to the tree – the only person capable of reaching it. The others with similar claims only made it to a branch or an illusory realm within the tree.
As the gate opened, one saw images of the tree. This was not an image or illusion but the actual entity. Of course, no spectators could verify this but it looked more real than anything else seen previously.
“The primordial tree!” Weizhen himself became emotional and bowed in respect.
“This is it.” One overlord was in awe.
The primordial light poured out of the gate and chased away the darkness. This boundless abyss couldn’t contain the tree’s greatness. Cracks appeared everywhere.
“Gather!” Chengtian stood before the gate and used a secret art never seen before. His body became ethereal as he stored primordial rays within himself.
“He can accommodate everything, this darn brat.” An overlord became annoyed.
Chengtian learned the immortal dao of the redemption grounds from the very start. Now, he could also accept the primordial rays from the tree.
He became resplendent and illuminated the abyss, pushing it to the brink of destruction.
“Show yourself, Luminous!” He shouted.
“Miss me already?” A voice came from behind.
This startled Chengtian because he was covered in primordial rays. He turned around and saw Primal Yin Immortal Ghost covered in darkness.
This darkness endured the rays while issuing smoke. The ghost suffered burns but he didn’t mind or didn’t have time to care.
“Don’t you want this source?” An unimaginable dark desire gushed forth and stopped the primordial rays from the gate.
Chengtian sensed something was wrong but his body froze momentarily. The ghost took advantage of this and placed his palms on Chengtian’s temples.
Chengtian had stuck around in the abyss for too long. Thus, when the dark desire erupted, an eye also appeared behind him.
He couldn’t begin to describe the nature of this eye but it instantly immobilized him.
“Fiendish Ground! Is it you?!” He shouted but there was no response.
“You can have it now!” The ghost roared while standing face to face with the enemy.
His dark desire surged straight into Chengtian’s head and flooded his consciousness, taking over his true fate and mind.
