Emperor's Domination - Chapter 6572: Irredeemable Sin

Chapter 6572: Irredeemable Sin
“Yes, I was blessed with the fortune of three lifetimes.” Venerable Skyguard said.
“This world is so amusing. A terrible disciple turns out to be a great master.” Li Qiye said sentimentally.
“Being generous with what belongs to others, what kind of good master is that?” The skull emerged and said: “With a crooked stance and a skewed shadow, he set a poor example for future generations.”
“My master never forced us.” The old man immediately defended his master: “While he was alive, Master once said that if one day a disciple were to betray him, then that too would be their own choice. Between master and disciple, there is no need to always follow the same path.”
“Interesting.” Li Qiye said with a smile: “If one can truly regard ungratefulness and betrayal with such indifference, then that too is quite a skill.”
“My master certainly can.” The old guardian said firmly, full of confidence in his master.
“You all are not strong enough. Once you are, you might not share the same mindset.” The skull shook.
“This kind of assumption is likely something that will never hold true.” Li Qiye said with a smile, gently shaking his head: “Given his personality, it is indeed somewhat interesting. If a disciple is inferior to him, then even betrayal wouldn’t matter much to him. And with his nature, treating disciples with kindness and generosity… well, it’s difficult to cultivate an immortal that way, and if no immortals emerge, how could anyone possibly surpass him?”
The old guardian opened his mouth to speak but fell silent.
“Easy to talk when you’re not the one suffering.” The skull snorted: “I could have done the same too.”
“Yes, when it comes to being generous with what belongs to others, anyone can appear calm and indifferent. Just like what Big Eye and I discussed, you all couldn’t stay composed, it’s because you truly poured your heart and soul into it, devoted too much. In that moment of urgency, the teachings focused on the wrong thing.” Li Qiye said while gazing into the distance and nodding his head.
He paused before smiling at the old guardian: “Your master remained calm and treated you with generosity, not entirely because of his own virtue. What he bestowed upon you didn’t come from his own efforts. Most came from your grandmasters, it was their blood, sweat, and tears. Who knows how many billions of years they struggled to survive, how many ages they endured, to finally accumulate such wealth and your master swallowed up most of it in one go. This kind of unimaginable fortune, none could spend it all in a lifetime. No matter how recklessly it’s used, it still wouldn’t run out. And so, you all were blessed by it.”
The old man had no response.
“What will you do now?” Li Qiye asked.
“I will obey Master’s order and hand the treasures to you, Sir. I will live reclusively afterward since that is all I want.” The old man said.
“So after all is said and done, did anyone gain or lose anything?” Li Qiye couldn’t help but smile as he said: “In the end, only three old geezers are left coughing up blood in anger. All their effort and devotion, nothing more than the moon in the water and flowers in a mirror.”
“I feel the same.” The skull said irritably: “Disciples and descendants, what damn use are they? Our original intention was the best, don’t take on any disciples. It only drains our energy, our lifespan. In the end, all it brings is frustration and disappointment. Like we could actually raise a primordial immortal or something?”
“It’s no easy task. Teaching the dao is hard but being a proper master is even harder.” Li Qiye said.
“Haha, and being a good father is even harder.” The skull said while staring at Li Qiye: “Children can be useless too.”
“I don’t disagree.” Li Qiye smiled: “Number doesn’t matter, that’s why sects and clans fall with time.”
“Then why did you bother?” The skull asked.
Li Qiye only smiled in response.
“I suppose I am a useless disciple when compared to my master’s greatness.” Skyguard sighed.
“Everyone has a different pursuit. Some like to soar in the sky while others are content on the ground.” Li Qiye said: “There’s no need for the disciple to surpass the master. The bar is low, not backstabbing one’s master is good enough.”
“My master…” He thought about defending his master but the truth was there. Xian Chengtian himself never said otherwise.
“Even a devil is loved by someone and is viewed as the best in the world. Conversely, a world savior can be reviled as the worst.” Li Qiye said.
“Yes, you are right, Sir.” He sighed.
“But I’m not taking these.” Li Qiye smiled.
“Sir…” He became anxious.
“I understand his intention but he must deal with his sin, no one else can redeem it for him.” Li Qiye said: “Of course, he doesn’t care about the sin but wants to continue this legacy.”
“Yes, he said that these treasures are meant for the virtuous and fateful ones.” He said.
“It’s his problem.” Li Qiye shook his head.
“Then what should I do?” He asked.
“Want to wash away his sin or at least redeem him?” Li Qiye asked.
“I am just too weak.” He sighed. How can an ant redeem the sin of a supreme existence?
“What are you going to do with these treasures?” Li Qiye asked specifically.
“I don’t know.” He responded.
“Take it, it’s a lifetime of benefits.” The skull laughed.
“I cannot handle this level of treasures, I am just a weak junior with no virtue to speak of. Moreover, I am rewarded properly already.” He shook his head, wanting to follow Chengtian’s instructions.
“You’ve made up your mind.” Li Qiye smiled.
Anyone else would have been tempted by the immortal treasures yet Skyguard had no intention of keeping them.
“Your master was very lucky to have a disciple like you.” Li Qiye smiled: “At the very least, you’re not letting him down.”
“I must do what I can.” He said.
