Emperor's Domination - Chapter 6816: Return It

Chapter 6816: Return It
“Just take it out, the shrine might not have anything to do with the Gate of Wisdom.” Blaze Ancestor frowned.
“Would you give it back if they were connected?” Li Qiye chuckled.
“Ridiculous, we ancient ancestors do not covet your possessions.” Blaze’s expression soured.
“Not necessarily. After all, even immortals want this gate, let alone ancient ancestors.” Li Qiye said.
Sharp gazes fell upon him for his disrespectful words. The city lord nearly cried from fear since this young mortal just wanted to offend everyone.
“But fine, it’s fine to oblige your wish.” Li Qiye said: “Just know that treasures are temptations dragging people to the darkness.”
Having said that, Li Qiye handed the shrine to Thunder Emperor. His sudden change of attitude surprised everyone.
Thunder Emperor took a closer look, using a mantra and heavenly gaze to no avail.
“I don’t see anything special.” Thunder Emperor gave up and handed it to Blaze Ancestor.
The city lord became nervous because the ancient ancestors might not give the shrine back.
Blaze also used various techniques and garnered no reaction. He then spewed a flame straight into the shrine.
“No!” The city lord was horrified since he knew this ancestor dreamed about Bear Immortal’s flames.
His flame could incinerate other ancient ancestors. However, it did nothing to the shrine.
“Not made from normal material.” Blaze gave up and handed it to Six-foot.
Six-foot was knowledgeable and observed every little detail. This alone was not enough.
“An experiment.” He said before putting the shrine on the ground and stomped on it repeatedly.
“Ahh!” The city lord screamed again.
“Rumble!” Many fell from the earthquakes resulting from the stomps. Fortunately, the shrine absorbed the impact.
“Can’t do anything?!” He was confident in his raw power but it didn’t work against the shrine. He stomped several more times.
“Enough, Brother.” Blaze and Ironleaf said before actual damage was done to Thunder Kingdom.
“It’s special.” Six-foot gave up and said: “If it isn’t the gate, it’s still at least something at the overlord level.”
He then gave it to Ironleaf who examined it closely first.
“Buzz.” Next, he released boundless life force, bathing all cultivators nearby. The life force then surrounded and entered the shrine.
“Pop!” Although the life force immediately disappeared, the shrine seemed to have glowed ever so slightly.
“It worked?” Blaze and Six-foot said.
This was akin to a spark within a dormant volcano, unable to wake it up.
“This thing must have an amazing origin. My life force is too weak to activate it. Maybe I can bring it back so my progenitor can try.” Ironleaf said.
“That’s, that’s no good.” The city lord said feebly. Wouldn’t this be akin to throwing a bun at a dog? They would never return the shrine.
“Time to give it back.” Li Qiye, on the other hand, demanded it directly.
Ironleaf’s expression changed after seeing the mortal raising his hand before him. The guy had no sense of propriety.
“I didn’t speak to you, you must respect the seniors.” Ironleaf narrowed his eyes, capable of causing onlookers to tremble.
“Nothing to do with seniority, you have seen it, now it’s time to give it back.” Li Qiye said nonchalantly.
“This thing is enigmatic, I don’t think you can hold on to it.” Blaze said.
“And your group can?” Li Qiye smiled.
“Villains will get greedy when they see you with it.” Ironleaf said.
“I don’t see any villain coveting it, only your group right now.” Li Qiye said.
“You…” Ironleaf became annoyed.
“Ignorant child, you court death.” A big shot nearby attacked Li Qiye.
“Don’t.” Thunder Emperor once again stopped the attack: “Ancestor, we have agreed to just take a look. Now that we’re finished, we must give it back.”
“The consequences are unimaginable if it were to fall into the hands of Devouring Alliance.” Blaze Ancestor said.
“That’s a matter for later, we must keep our promise right now. Otherwise, our so-called conviction is merely self-deception.” She said.
“I didn’t say I wouldn’t return it.” Ironleaf said sullenly.
“Please do.” She bowed deeply.
