Endless Evolution: Last Star - Chapter 1641: Red Eyes

Chapter 1641: Red Eyes
Tron’s primary power was his glass. To a certain extent, it was his element, while others controlled fire or ice, he could create glass of any shape and size.
This applied not only to sturdy barriers, sharp blades, or daggers he could throw, but to something more complex, such as mirrors.
Unlike his other attempts, the mirror was able to reflect the black spear, but even that proved insufficient.
That is why Tron decided to move on to something more serious: the glass sphere.
Tron didn’t know how much energy the black spear had or how fast it could go. He didn’t need to know that, because now the black spear was trapped with no way out.
Silvana narrowed her eyes.
’Damn, that’s clever. Every time Adam’s spear hits the mirror, it will just ricochet into another one, then again and again, until it runs out of energy.’
This was one of those rare occasions where Silvana didn’t know all the possibilities of Adam’s ability. She was just as curious to learn all the details as everyone else.
Tremble! Tremble! Tremble!
A tremor ran through the mirror sphere, then again and again, each time faster and stronger.
Strangely enough, this brought a smirk to Tron’s face, for such a reaction meant his plan was working. Right now, the black spear was ricocheting off his mirrors.
“Good, I think it’ll all be over soon.”
However, soon his expression shifted to one of mild panic.
The crimson flame was seeping through gaps in the mirrors and onto the surface of the sphere. This could only mean that Tron’s trap wasn’t as sturdy as he’d expected.
“No.” He waved his hand. “My mirrors are as sturdy as ever. It’s this spear… Damn, just how powerful can it get?”
Still, that alone wasn’t enough to defeat him.
Clasp!
Tron clenched his hands tightly as the mirror sphere filled with energy. The gaps grew smaller as the edges pressed tighter and the cracks vanished.
Now, he had achieved what he had wanted from the start.
Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.
A slight tremor continued to run through the mirror sphere, but it was obvious to everyone that from that moment on, it was all over.
Very soon, the tremor stopped completely as the mirrors no longer rattled.
Tron smiled contentedly. For him, this had turned out to be a tougher challenge than he had anticipated.
“Hey.”
Suddenly, a calm voice rang out from the side, causing Tron to turn around.
His smile vanished, and his eyes widened in disbelief.
Adam, who had been standing to the side watching the whole time, raised his hand, ready to throw. His grip was empty.
Blink.
As soon as the red eyes blinked, the massive black spear burning with crimson fire appeared in his hand at his command.
All he had to do was activate the red eyes.
“To be honest, I’m running out of strength, so… this will be my last throw.”
With those words, the red eyes closed as two eye signs appeared in front of the spear, a short distance apart.
The pupils darted from side to side like mad before settling on Tron, their target.
Tron gulped as Adam sprang into action.
Even he, a K4-Phantom who was at the peak of his evolution, could barely make out Adam’s movements. For this single throw, he gained the same speed as his spear.
The crimson flash bathed the Sky Cube in a gloomy, red hue before crashing down on Tron with monstrous force.
In a heartbeat, Tron created more than a dozen barriers in front of him, but before they could fully form, the sheer pressure emanating from the black spear shattered them into shards.
’No, I have to dodge!’ Tron thought as his frame trembled.
In a single step, he covered several meters. That should have been enough for the black spear to plunge into the ground beside him.
But… When he looked up, his eyes filled with shock.
“W-What?!”
The black spear was right in front of him, its sharp tip piercing straight into his right shoulder.
His face contorted as, in a sweeping motion, he tried to pull the spear out of his shoulder. Tron’s teeth were clenched tightly, and his eyes filled with blood while his fingers reached for the spear.
Wheeeezzzeeee!
With one final tremor, the black spear pulsed as it surged forward at tremendous speed.
Stones and chunks of earth flew off to the sides as the spear left behind a shattered trench and bloody stains.
BAM!
In the next moment, a tremor ran through the entire Sky Cube as the black spear reached its target and slammed straight into the wall with full force.
Only now could it dissipate. Its goal was achieved.
“GHA!”
A stream of blood gushed from Adam’s mouth as he fell to one knee.
“ADAM!” Silvana cried out in alarm, rushing toward him. “Are you okay?”
Black particles swirled before his eyes. His gloves had vanished, as had his ability.
“Don’t worry about me…” His breathing was ragged. “Tron took a much worse hit than I did. Huh, looks like I might have gone a little overboard, but I’m not sure I’m going to apologize for it.”
Unlike Silvana, Riska stayed where she was. She sensed Tron’s aura and knew he wasn’t critically injured, still… her heart was beating faster than usual.
No one expected that Adam’s ability could actually hurt Tron.
Gradually, the veil of smoke cleared, revealing Tron’s silhouette.
The massive section of the wall, which was supposed to resemble the sky with floating clouds, had been destroyed. In the middle of it stood Tron himself, with a large bloodstain visible behind the shattered stones.
Drip. Drip. Drip.
Blood was trickling down his right arm. His white shirt was torn as everyone’s gaze turned to his shoulder.
It was torn to shreds, the skin covered in deep cuts that went all the way down to his bleeding muscles. Right in the center was a black, charred hole that went right through his shoulder.
Slowly, Tron opened his eyes, deep and amethyst-colored.
His cold expression cracked with a slight smirk.
“Hah… Now that’s what I call a cool ability.”
