Chapter 857: Origin Law Recognition, Late Stage Heavenly Venerate
—
It started with tense silence…
Cedric sat cross-legged within his seclusion chambers, which were sealed on all sides, one that was made specifically to be so extremely durable that it ’should’ be able to endure the fluctuations of origin laws. It doesn’t have any visible entrances, and only Cedric knows where it is and how to enter it.
Right now, his mind was completely immersed in the sea of laws, where he’s surrounded by complex tides of sharp sword energies.
Insights of sword laws ebbed and flowed around him; Cedric watched them pass with indifference, noting every change and every reaction that happened within.
Deep in his subconscious mind and in his inner world, the same scenery appeared. Additionally, a faint outline of a diagram appeared, one that is being filled slowly but surely with random pieces created from the very same sea of sharp energies.
Looking closely at the one that Cedric had, one would be able to tell that it’s nearly completely filled; only a few pieces were missing. And these missing pieces are exactly the ones being created right now.
Cedric’s consciousness drifted precisely between phases of lucidity. He’s aware but also moving on instinct; he’s in a delicate balance where he could and couldn’t move.
Still, things are happening…
Then, after an unknown amount of time for Cedric, the final pieces to the puzzle finally moved over and completed the diagram. They slotted in perfectly, and the entire diagram erupted with a sharp and piercing light that completely awoke him.
Cedric’s eyes went wide open with a gasp, and he subconsciously released fluctuations so sharp that they left a large and horrifying scar along the walls of his seclusion chamber that nearly sliced it to pieces.
Mind you, this place should’ve, theoretically, been able to endure the fluctuations of origin laws, but this one uncontrolled release from him nearly tore it apart. It was a severe underestimation on his part, obviously.
Cedric was wide awake now, and so was his clone on the Origin Heaven Continent.
He looked within his consciousness and his inner world and saw the complete Origin Sword Law Diagram radiating with a sharp and distinct light that’s almost blinding.
It floated in these places like they were the absolute center of attention. Everything else around them, even the brightest of the stars, dimmed in comparison to their sheer radiance and importance.
Glee erupted deep within Cedric as he stared at this diagram.
Finally, after so many years, he had a complete origin law for himself. A thrill ran down his spine; his excitement went straight through the roof.
How could he not be happy? The Origin Law was the one roadblock that even the Human Sovereigns weren’t able to pass through, yet he, a mid-stage Heavenly Venerate, was fortunate enough to reach it way ahead of them.
However, just as he thought that this was it, his instincts cried out.
Cedric’s eyes widened in alarm. And with a swift motion, he leapt out of his homeworld and out of his sector domain.
Actually, it didn’t end there. With a slash of his sword, he created a spatial tear that led outside of the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm, which he immediately passed through, arriving to the void outside of the dimensional gap.
He tore through numerous spatial folds, creating a wide breadth of distance between him and the home he’d known for quite some time. Only when he determined that he was far enough did he stop and search for a place to temporarily stay.
He found one immediately. It’s a continent drifting across the void aimlessly. No living creatures live in it; it’s a dead piece of land that nobody will miss once it’s destroyed.
It was perfect for what’s about to happen next.
Hum!!!
A sharp and piercing sound strummed around the area with him at its center. Light blossomed around him out of nowhere, and sharp energies flooded the entire continent, causing it to creak dangerously under its weight and sharpness.
Cedric’s eyes turned dull. He stared above, and his body was being lifted by an invisible force. The light around him turned brighter and brighter, and the sky above him parted. Every speck of light turned into wisps that gathered into the same diagram that he filled within his consciousness and his inner world.
Once that same diagram appeared, it morphed and turned into a sword scar, one that embedded itself in his forehead.
Cedric’s eyes involuntarily closed as he got completely lost in this process. A pleased hum escaped his lips, and sharp warmth coursed through his veins.
After an unknown amount of time, the sword scar on his forehead dimmed and now looked like a tattoo. Cedric’s eyes opened, and their luster returned. A pleased sigh escaped from his lips, and the sword scar on his forehead melted away, disappearing on the surface of his skin like it was never there to begin with.
“With this, I can confidently declare to each and everybody that I am the Sword God, and if they could see what I can do, nobody would dare to refute me at all,” Cedric muttered, chuckling at his thought process.
But this statement wasn’t false either. Cedric could actually do this, especially now that he had gained the recognition of Origin Sword Laws.
Yes, that’s right. What happened just now was precisely that. Not even a day after he completely replicated the Origin Sword Law Diagram within him, he had gained its recognition. The sword scar tattoo that appeared on his forehead was the mark that proved this event.
Now, the power of origin laws rests at his very fingertips. Everything that was born out of the sword was his to wield and command.
The Origin Sword Law not only gave him instinctual, perfect knowledge about sword arts, both known and unknown; it also gave him the ability to bestow and strip sword talents to those he deemed fit or unfit of them.
This was an authority bestowed on him by this Origin Law, one that couldn’t be defied unless his target was also recognized by the same or a different Origin Law.
One must know that this ability transcends life evolution realms. Cedric, as he is now, could completely strip any of the Human Sovereigns of their knowledge and talent for sword laws as he pleases, and they wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.
This is how absurd this authority was. And this isn’t even including the sheer power he could command now that he could freely wield this origin law as he pleases.
The celebration doesn’t end here, because while he was being recognized by the Origin Sword Laws, Cedric also had another breakthrough.
He’s now at the late-stage Heavenly Venerate Realm. Just a few steps away from becoming a Primal Origin Lifeform, the very realm that the Human Sovereigns had been dreaming of for many, many centuries.
Now, Cedric could truly, completely, and confidently say that nothing in the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm could threaten him anymore, not even the combined forces of the Human Sovereign.
In fact, between him and them, there’s no telling who could truly come out on top.
With a sigh, Cedric calmed himself down. He swiped his finger across the void and created another spatial tear that brought him exactly above his territory.
It’s crazy how they could just casually ignore the dimensional gap like this. Like it’s a mere suggestion that he happens to disagree with. And even crazier is that nobody could sense he could just do this ever so casually.
This was more than just space laws, by the way; this was another application of Origin Sword Laws. Distance held no meaning to his sword anymore. Space is a suggestion, and Time itself slices itself with the sharpness of his sword.
The best part is that Cedric had no real need for a physical sword anymore. He could conjure the most perfect and most suitable sword for him just by thinking about it.
Anything could become his sword, and every sword worships him like a god. Anything related to the sword originates from him, and his authority over them was unrivalled.
This is how absurd he is by now.
Cedric’s movement just now did not cause any alarms to his people or anybody unrelated.
The entire ceremony of his advancement was known only to him, one that he’s not so inclined to announce to everybody.
Let them be ignorant. They don’t have to know. He’s not working this hard for them, and he’s not that fond of the spotlight most of the time anyway.
Becoming an unrivaled being didn’t make Cedric arrogant. He won’t let that happen. He stayed true to who he is—a reclusive expert that minded his own business.
As for letting the Human Sovereigns know? That’s not happening anytime soon, that’s for sure. He’s not giving them any reason to give him more responsibilities.
Managing a whole sector domain is already hectic enough for him, thank you very much.
And so, without any fanfare, Cedric’s advancement and ascension were known only to himself.
It was here that his expression suddenly turned contemplative as he thought:
“Was I just imagining things when I felt the presence of demons earlier?”
