Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking - Chapter 863: Rehabilitation

Chapter 863: Rehabilitation
—
Truthfully, Cedric expected that he’d feel bad about what he had done.
There’s no sugarcoating this. He had condemned an entire race. Sure, they wanted to harm humans first, but the idea of not even allowing them a chance to fight back was, frankly, too much.
That said, Cedric truly didn’t feel bad about it.
Not even a single ounce of guilt came out of him. While he wasn’t excited either, he also wouldn’t be losing sleep over it. He’s just indifferent.
If there’s anything he felt, it was peace. He very much enjoyed the dull silence that was left behind by the extinction of demons.
The echoes of cruelty, madness, needless slaughter, etc. All of them were gone. All they left behind was a whole chaos realm in dire need of recuperation.
Cedric tilted his head up and watched as the formation he draped over all of the chaos realm still worked hard to eliminate the infernal energy that seeped through this entire place. It’s fishing out the real stubborn ones that rooted themselves so deep and refused to come out.
This was no quick job for the formation he installed, but so long as the formation was here, even the last ounce of infernal energy wouldn’t be able to escape its judgement.
Like he said, this process will probably take years to happen but certainly no more than a decade. However, it’s limited to the cleansing of infernal energy. Rehabilitating the entirety of the Black Pegasus Chaos Realm until it’s habitable again will take much, much longer than that.
Additionally, Cedric couldn’t interfere too much in the rehabilitation either. This chaos realm must relearn how to be independent, just like in the past. And too much interference from Cedric wouldn’t be helpful to it.
Of course, if he knew the Origin Laws of Life or Creation, he could probably ignore that worry. But as he was currently, Cedric was nowhere near that level.
More importantly, though, is that the rehabilitation couldn’t start until after the last drop of infernal energy was gone forever from this place. He can’t introduce elements of life into the mix because infernal energy would just corrupt it and use it as fuel to prolong its existence.
The already corrupted worlds don’t count, though. But that’s about it. Infernal energy must first disappear from this realm before it can start recovering.
Knowing this, Cedric decided to swap places with his clone again. He didn’t need to be personally here anymore. He had done his job, had a little bit of fun doing it, and felt that it was a productive use of his time.
He got what he wanted, and maybe more. His work here was done, and he needed not to remain. The rest could be handled by his clone just fine.
And so, with a quick swap, Cedric’s main body returned to his territory, his office, to be more specific. While his clone was now left behind to oversee the Black Pegasus Realm.
’I did all of that without anybody knowing,’ Cedric mused to himself, wearing a small smile.
Yes, indeed he has. Nobody was warned of what he did. Not the Human Sovereigns, not his loved ones, not his friends, hell, not even a single stranger, especially the demons themselves, except Irma and his council, but that’s only after he decided to stop hiding his tracks.
Cedric erased the entirety of the demon race from existence without anyone knowing. And with his personality, this isn’t something he’d brag about either.
The Human Sovereigns, who are still undecided about what to do with the demons, couldn’t possibly imagine that somebody has already made a decision on their behalf.
It wouldn’t be until later that Urek, accompanied by Gibson, would decide to pay a visit again. Actually, that might not even happen anymore since Cedric already changed the future he once saw.
Either way, what’s done was done.
The Demon Race is gone. Yes, all of them. Not even the envoys they were planning to send to negotiate with the Bug Empress escaped Cedric’s judgement. He calculated time and caught them all in one place.
Now, only traces of their existence were left. And that’s already in the process of being erased by Cedric. By the time he’s done, the only existence demons will leave behind will be in history books. They’d never appear again…probably. Unless somehow, there were demons in other chaos realms he hadn’t visited before. But those aren’t his problem anymore.
With this done, Cedric decided to relax once more.
He finished his usual duties as a Sector Lord—mainly stamping some documents. Once he was done with that, he returned to his seclusion chambers and once again sank his full attention into the clone in the Origin Heaven Continent while slightly paying attention to the other clone he left in the Black Pegasus Chaos Realm.
**
A couple of years passed just like this…
At some point, Cedric’s clone, who had been in the Black Pegasus Chaos Realm, watched as the last ounce of infernal energy released its final screech of despair before being wiped out from existence.
The clone waited for a couple more days, just to make sure that there was truly nothing left. And when he confirmed that there’s truly nothing left, the clone decided to move on to the next course of action for this place.
He flew for a bit. He felt a bit sad looking at how ruined this chaos realm had become due to infernal energy.
Everything was bleak and barren. It’s like the entire chaos realm was barely clinging to life, and one strong earthquake could destroy all of this.
It was disheartening, really. And it reaffirmed Cedric’s indifference to what he did to the demon race and the infernal energy.
But there’s still some hope left for this place, at the very least.
The clone then rose to the air. He stared at the formation above, and with a swing of his arm, the entire formation twisted along before releasing a rain of swords.
These swords weren’t made to destroy or hurt anything. Instead of actual swords, it’s more correct to say that they were energies of creation and life in the shape of a sword.
Cedric did say that he couldn’t interfere much with the rehabilitation of this chaos realm, and that’s true. He also said that he’s far from being recognized by the original law of creation and/or life, which is also true.
But that doesn’t mean that he couldn’t make an attempt at least.
A little nudge in the right direction. A loan of energies for the rehabilitation to kick-start, at least. That much he could do.
And so, with this rain of swords, he sent them all to be driven into the core of worlds, planets, stars…basically everything within this chaos realm. Hell, he even included the spaces in between and the hidden secret realms that had been corrupted as well.
He calculated carefully to make sure that everything got as much as they would need to jumpstart the process, but he wouldn’t be surprised if he miscalculated either. If he did, he could always send another one—no big deal.
And so, a sword festival took place all over the chaos realm. Wherever the swords landed, the energies contained within them seeped through the worlds or places they found themselves in.
These energies served as moisturizers that lubricated the dryness of heaven and earth.
Shortly later, some changes started appearing. It was faint, but it was there. The Black Pegasus Chaos Realm was breathing again, more stably this time compared to before.
The chain reaction will follow soon, but for now, this will suffice. And this was the extent of how far Cedric could interfere. He can’t go past this, or else this place will become too dependent on him, and that just won’t do.
He wants the Black Pegasus Chaos Realm to be an independent realm, one that is capable of providing for its citizens and could speak for itself, not a symbiotic realm.
This will definitely take a significantly longer time, but it’s a necessary wait. It’s normal since chaos realms aren’t formed overnight.
The important part is for this place to not be interrupted during its recovery. For that, Cedric had to seal this entire chaos realm.
It’s not that hard, especially since he already had a grand formation installed. All he had to do was to flip it over and modify some of its functions, and that process wasn’t that hard for him.
This meant no visitors, though. So, if any of the Human Sovereigns or other creatures decided to pay a visit to this place, Cedric can’t allow them in, quite adamantly at that, too.
The reversal of the grand formation was done quite quickly. Cedric discovered some holes though, and he had to patch those off, but that wasn’t hard either.
Once that was done, Cedric was relieved. At least there’s protection for this place that will discourage surprise visitors. This formation stretches all the way to the Dimensional Gap too, so everything was properly covered.
