Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking - Chapter 865: Origin Destruction

Chapter 865: Origin Destruction
—
Fire has been and will always be one of the basic elements that are fundamental for survival, along with water, earth, metal, and wood, of course.
It is also one of the most commonly used conceptual laws out there, mainly because almost everybody is familiar with it.
Due to this being one of the fundamental building blocks of the world, fire laws aren’t as complicated as, say, the Sword Laws. Therefore, it’s not surprising that the number of law essences needed to create the Origin Fire Law diagram wasn’t as many as with the sword laws.
Origin Fire Laws needed 33 Law Essence Fragments in total. About half as much as what the Origin Sword Laws do.
Cedric already comprehended half of the required fire law essences when he was still outside the core inheritance zone. However, due to the limitations, his progress was frozen there.
It wasn’t until he was now comprehending the Origin Fire Law Tablet that the restrictions were lifted and the other half presented themselves before him freely.
Cedric drank everything greedily. His mind processed information at blistering speeds, compiling it and memorizing each bit until he could recall it by heart. Furthermore, he was also memorizing the Origin Fire Law Diagram.
He didn’t hold anything back. He’s got 200 days of comprehension time rewards to use, and he will use it all at once. His goal was to comprehend everything at once so that by the next trial, he will have two origin laws to rely on.
In his focus, he momentarily forgot what Angelo said: that when he has gained the recognition of two Origin Laws, his trial will come every 200 years instead of every 100 years.
He’d remember this later. Right now, though, his main focus was to greedily comprehend as much as he could at once.
And that’s exactly what he’s doing.
Cedric was inhaling insights of fire law essences like a whale inhaling air. Information was swiftly piled up, refined, and confirmed within his consciousness.
The more he comprehended, the brighter the Origin Fire Law Diagram became in both his consciousness and in his Inner World.
Days swiftly passed by in this manner, and at some point, he was fished out of the nebula and awoken from his deep comprehension.
Cedric was momentarily dazed before returning to reality. Even then, he didn’t care too much. He knows that his immersion must continue, just not here, so he flew out of the core inheritance zone and back to his tiny and humble shelter.
Once he was there, he shut the door behind him quickly, sealing himself in. He didn’t want to be disturbed, so the seals he etched all over this shelter lit up to isolate him completely.
After that, he sat on the stone bed, closed his eyes, and returned to his immersion.
It didn’t take long for him to return to that state. It’s like his awakening to reality was but just a brief interlude that need not be mentioned.
He, of course, noticed that the clarity of his insights was fainter here, which was to be expected since it’s always the strongest when staring straight at the complete origin heaven tablet. But this didn’t stop Cedric’s comprehension at all.
All the information he compiled suddenly became very useful now. And because of this, Cedric is chewing on his progress at blistering speeds, which would make his fellow inhabitants here blush in shame and in comparison.
Cedric practically comprehended five fire law essences during his 200 days just now. Although this method was patchy, the progress was there. Additionally, this progress was made while he’s still compiling general insights to other law essences.
Now that he could take his time, Cedric began patching the holes in his hasty comprehension and filling out the rest at a slow but steady pace.
The fact that the restriction for the law essence of fire had been lifted greatly helped him here.
To say that Cedric was progressing at a rocket-like speed compared to his fellow inhabitants here would be an understatement.
One must know that some of them here, including those that have been here for a while now, haven’t even been recognized by a single Origin Law. Cedric, who’s the latest addition to their numbers, was outpacing them at an unbelievable speed.
The fact that, albeit an unwritten rule, the inhabitants here were forbidden from causing too much disturbance to others was a very fortunate thing for Cedric indeed.
After all, if others were to know that he’s progressing at this pace. They’d probably lose all sense of decorum with him.
**
While Cedric was busy steeped in his comprehension of law essences, things were going swimmingly within the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm.
By swimmingly, it meant as normal as it could be.
There was no explosive news that would rock the foundations of humanity or cause too much disturbance. Everything was relatively peaceful.
The Human Sovereigns kept their lips sealed about their discovery of the Demon Race. In the end, they decided to let them be for now, not knowing that they’re no more thanks to Cedric’s interference.
Urek, Berk, and Gibson continued handling most of the matters about the Human Council while Nicholas and Patricia continued experimenting to discover their respective origin law diagrams.
Unlike Cedric, they have no basis, no guide, and no help. They must figure it out on their own, which was definitely harder.
But Nick and Pat weren’t pushovers or idiots. They were, in fact, some of the brightest and most intelligent people in terms of life evolution and conceptual laws.
And although it took them a while, at last one of them finally reached their goal.
And it was none other than Nicholas.
The idea came to him while he was relaxing under the starry skies and drinking tea. He didn’t search for it, didn’t become desperate, and didn’t overturn lands, seas, and heavenly bodies for it.
It just literally dawned upon him as he was relaxing. Which precisely made it even more shocking and exhilarating.
Try as he might, Nick couldn’t help but be excited. Once he saw it, everything else faded away like they weren’t even fit to be background details.
Suddenly, it’s all he could see. Nicholas was so convinced because of what he’s feeling, so he memorized it all at once, fearing that the image might fade away from his memory if he were to move too slow.
Nicholas went into a trance, and the Origin Destruction Law Diagram he saw was being drawn into his consciousness and his inner world too.
This went on for a while until, as he initially feared, the diagram he saw faded. Fortunately, he did memorize it completely. And he was convinced that this was it because the law essences he had comprehended about destruction laws were vibrating with activity, something they’ve never done before in his previous attempts.
Once he was done here, Cedric immediately began his arrangements. He planned another seclusion; this time, he was determined not to be disturbed by anything or anyone, not even his closest friends.
After making sure he won’t be disturbed, Nicholas sealed himself in and began arranging the law essences into pieces to fill out the diagram.
It wasn’t a linear process, like placing puzzle pieces into place. Nicholas would have to mix and match other law essences to produce the needed piece to go into the diagram.
Sometimes, he would even need to purposefully cause a violent reaction between two volatile law essences just to get what he wants. This is where the dangers of lone experimentation come from, because even though this was a law he’s most familiar with, it doesn’t mean that he’s immune from its effects.
However, with the complete and, as believed, the right diagram before him, Nicholas knew exactly what he wanted, which saved him from blindly moving forward and risking his own safety.
With the knowledge of what must happen and what he needs exactly, Nicholas could prepare and be ready for what he’s about to do.
Having already comprehended all the necessary legal essences he needed, Nicholas just had to fill up the diagram to complete everything.
And slowly but surely, that’s what he did. He carefully combined and clashed raw essences according to his needs.
Soon, everything was in its proper place. After about two years of doing just this, the process was finally complete.
And as soon as the diagram was filled. A sense of fulfillment flooded his veins, making him sigh in relief and satisfaction.
A sense of completeness settled within him, like he just discovered and reclaimed a piece of himself he never knew went missing. The feeling was particularly enlightening.
And if he had any reservations about whether this was what they truly needed to complete that final step in life evolution, all of those are gone now after he felt this.
’That kid was right,’ Nick thought to himself. ’The Origin Law was the next in our list. Thanks to him, we won’t be scrambling in the dark anymore.’
Nicholas fondly remembered Cedric and silently thanked the kid in his heart for illuminating their way forward.
But his gratitude will have to be sent a little while later, because right now, he just had a feeling that he should just evacuate his current position and find a relatively empty place…
A place that could be destroyed without consequences for what’s about to come to him next.
