Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking - Chapter 867: State of Rising Sun

Chapter 867: State of Rising Sun
—
Cedric stared at the horizon atop his office building as if his eyes could see through what’s beyond it.
And with how his eyes glittered like the night sky, that might just be true.
Nevertheless, there’s a faint trace of amusement and mirth in his eyes as he sees something that others cannot see. The corners of his lips even curled up a bit because of it.
’Took you long enough,’ he thought to himself.
While others, who cultivated concept laws to the Grand Law stage, could only feel the dread and terror from whatever it was that swept through the entire chaos realm; Cedric, of course, was an outlier.
He didn’t feel the same dread and terror as they did. In his heart, the only thing he felt was finality, a relief that at least one of the Human Sovereigns now possesses enough power to truly not be afraid of the Horde.
Yes, Cedric knew the source of the fluctuation that woke up even those that were pronounced dead long ago. He could recognize the source of origin laws.
How can he not when he had encountered it before? Don’t forget that Cedric had been recognized by the Origin Sword Laws already. His recognition was even earlier than Nicholas’s by many, many years.
The only difference is that, instead of choosing to be recognized within Heavenly Star, Cedric opted to gain his outside of it, preventing others from knowing of what happened.
Obviously, Cedric also recognized who it was that got the acknowledgement. He sensed the essence of destruction from Councillor Nicholas the first time they met.
While the human sovereigns are good at keeping their auras contained, Cedric’s eyes are such a cheat that it completely trivializes their efforts.
The only one who had cultivated Destruction Laws to that height could only be Nicholas.
Even though Cedric wasn’t there to witness the whole process of recognition, he was a hundred percent confident that it could only be Nicholas.
And this was something to be celebrated, especially since it was Nick.
Nick was recognized as humanity’s brightest and strongest genius of his era, one that had piles of myths and legends trailing after him. At least until Cedric himself dethroned him.
Of course, whether news of Nick’s breakthrough would be publicized or not would be up to him. Regardless, though, Heavenly Star finally had a guardian that could truly secure its future.
Obviously, the next step for Nick was to reach the Primal Origin Lifeform Realm, the absolute peak of life evolution. If he could reach that stage, the golden age of humanity would be a ’when’ instead of an ’if.’
But that’s none of Cedric’s business.
Whether Nicholas or any of the human sovereigns, for that matter, reaches that realm wasn’t something he should be concerned with.
He’s got his own lot to deal with, and so long as they do not disturb the peace and serenity of his home, they’re free to do whatever they please.
Cedric tore his amused gaze away from where he sensed Nicholas’ recognition happened. That’s all the attention it’d get from him.
He transferred his attention to his territory, which was still growing and positively thriving.
The Rising Sun Sector Domain was a far cry from what it looked and felt like before it was handed to Cedric. The once barren, unknown, and lifeless place had turned into one of the richest and most vibrant sector domains in all of Heavenly Star.
First of all, its security was top-notch. Cedric would dare say that’s unrivalled compared to all other sector domains out there.
There’s the Void Prison, first and foremost in that layer. It has grown and evolved numerous times over the past millennia since its installment here. At first, it’s only huge enough to isolate and protect Cedric’s real home, the Primeval Scarlet Dust Realm, but it has long since expanded its protection to the whole sector domain.
It doesn’t just isolate the sector domain from harm; it’s a sealed bubble that not only covers the entire sector domain but is also the first to sense and alert the authorities of threats approaching their home.
Yes, approach. The sensors of the void prison extend cosmic realms away from its physical location. That way, the army would be ready by the time the threat arrives.
The void prison also has the power to suppress threats if they ever penetrate its defenses. The void prison has sentience that has grown more intelligent and stronger over time, and its loyalty to Cedric was unwavering. It would rather see itself destroyed first before it allows threats to harm the people and the place it’s protecting.
And if somehow, the threat managed to bypass the void prison’s defenses? The numerous formations Cedric had deployed over time will be their next trouble.
Hell, the amount of realm protection Cedric’s domain has is nearly as much as the Human Council HQ! It detects not just actual threats but also intent. Anybody who poses even the slightest bit of bad intention to this place will be marked and flagged before they could even take action.
And past that, there’s the army. Cedric’s own version of the Space Marines.
Being close to the border of Heavenly Star’s dimensional gap allowed Cedric to observe the space marines without being noticed. He had long since copied their equipment and gave it to his council to produce and to arm their army.
Any threats to the Rising Sun Sector Domain will be met with extreme prejudice from his men, that’s for sure.
And of course, there’s Cedric himself. The so-called ’Domain Lord: Stormrider.’ His Excellency was ever so mysterious and ever so powerful that rumors said that he was one of the Human Sovereigns in disguise.
The fact that the Rising Sun Sector Domain had risen and prospered this fast certainly fed that rumor a ton. And Cedric never bothered correcting their assumption.
If there ever came a time that all the defensive measures failed against the threat, Cedric would show up to deal with whatever it was. And with how powerful he was now, it’s fairly certain that he would be able to take care of it.
If it ever comes to a point that he couldn’t, then that means he’s dead.
It’s because of how secure this place was and how uncompromising Cedric was to the safety of his people that prosperity followed him wherever he went, and that blessing overflowed to his people too.
His protectiveness wasn’t a secret to his people. In fact, any one of his citizens could walk up to the Rising Sun’s Council Office and ask for reports of defensive measures he installed in the domain.
This was the kind of transparency and security that nobody could find in other sector domains. And with how safe he made everybody feel, of course they would be inclined to do their best for their home.
Every citizen of the Rising Sun Sector Domain sleeps tight knowing that they are safe and secure. They wake up energized and ready to do whatever it takes to earn their place here, because all of them agreed that there is no better place to call home than here.
And with that kind of mindset, the prosperity spreads. It moisturized the land, gave breath to nature and industries, energized thoughts and ideas, and moved heavenly bodies.
Society, education, art, military, environment, industries, governance, lifestyles, etc. Everything moved forward and prospered.
And the best part? Most of these happened on their own. Cedric had given freedom to his own council to progress. Of course, he’s still the final decision maker, but his council felt seen, acknowledged, and trusted enough to keep the prosperity of their home.
Of course, they argue, debate, weigh options, prioritize, and hold each other accountable for their actions. Their motives can be selfish sometimes, or most times, but never dirty.
They could play the silly game of politics so long as their intent wouldn’t be detrimental to the final state of their home. Hell, Cedric himself would play along if he needed to, but that’s under the assumption that the end result doesn’t touch his bottom line.
This is how the Rising Sun Sector Domain suddenly found itself becoming one of the hottest and most popular Sector Domains to settle down in real quick.
Life here was so good that the list of those who wanted to move here was practically endless. Alas, they’re a little too late. Now that this place had turned out like this, everyone would find it very difficult and very expensive to move in.
And that’s not even counting whether they’d pass the numerous security measures they have to go through to become official citizens of this domain.
That said, even though it’s difficult, a lot of people still want to move here. The applications are still flowing in despite the difficulties.
And of course, Life Evolution doesn’t fall behind. Hell, it’s the main priority actually. The Rising Sun Sector Domain wasn’t just a hub for the rich or wannabe rich and secured people; it’s a hub for strong people too.
To say that the domain has become a holy land for Life Evolvers wouldn’t be an understatement, to say the least.
