Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking - Chapter 877: Primal Origin Lifeform

Chapter 877: Primal Origin Lifeform
—
If Nick had been planning to inform his friends about what he’s about to do now, or even send them just a small heads-up, that thought had certainly flown out the window…
SWOOOSH!!
The only sign they’d get from him was seeing his Empyrean Phantom enlarging until it’s almost as big as, if not bigger than, the entirety of the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm.
Of course, not everybody could see this. Only those who are related and are extremely sensitive to the changes of the world would perceive what’s happening.
And obviously, the sudden appearance of Nick’s Empyrean Phantom had shocked his friends. They cursed and dropped everything they were doing to get to where Nick was.
They wanted to punch him for catching them off guard, but they’re a little too late. Nick couldn’t be disturbed anymore. They could only wait until this was over.
Nick hadn’t had the time to feel guilty. He certainly would, after this. But right now, he doesn’t care. All of his attention was focused on his breakthrough attempt.
That’s right. It’s finally happening.
After many years since Nick got the acknowledgement of Origin Destruction Laws, he’s finally making an attempt to reach the ultimate stage of life evolution—the Primal Origin Lifeform Realm, the strongest and peak existence there is.
What prompted this decision?
Well, saying that he felt really good and fulfilled after returning from his short vacation in the Rising Sun Sector Domain would be silly, but true.
For however long he spent in there, Nick was able to get rid of his inhibitions and anxiety over the fact that he’s about to make this attempt. Not even once in his stay there did the idea even bother him. He was able to completely let go of any burdens or doubts he ever felt about himself and this decision, so that by the time he returned, he just knew he was ready.
It’s bizarre how that happened.
Was it really because of that vacation? The place? Cedric? Or was everything just a coincidence?
Honestly, Nick couldn’t tell. And right now, he really couldn’t care less about it.
He just knew that he was ready after he left that place. Not even a single strand of doubt in his body was present when he decided this. It’s surprising how easily and casually he made that decision. The fact that he didn’t even feel the need to consult his friends about it was proof of that.
In fact, Nick didn’t even make it to his seclusion room.
He just found an empty and isolated land, claimed it, and decided to start his breakthrough right there and then.
Nick thought that his seclusion room felt stuffy and too small for this. He wanted to be out in the open, with plenty of room and space to move. He acted upon this thought, and now, he’s here.
In an instant, his Empyrean Phantom enlarged to about the same size as the chaos realm. Those who are gifted with sight could see him everywhere; no need to strain their necks either.
Nick felt the presence of his friends appearing nearby but not getting close. He could feel their anxiety and uncertainty and felt the urge to laugh. He didn’t feel guilty right now, no. Maybe later after he’s done with this, but definitely not now. He just found it funny.
The moment his Empyrean Phantom expanded to its full size, shackles instantly appeared.
There’s one wrapped around his temples, neck, wrists, midsection, and ankles.
These were the shackles that prevented him and his friends from reaching the peak of existence.
Following this, another presence appeared, that of the Supreme Will.
This was to be expected. The commotion he caused by simply releasing his Empyrean Phantom was definitely too much for the Supreme Will to ignore. It had been roused to wakefulness and was now scrutinizing Nick from head to toe.
For some reason though, its attention felt sharper and snappier, as if it were impatient or just pissed off that its deep slumber had been interrupted.
In no time, it tested Nick—which dragged his consciousness into a series of extremely realistic illusions. Some required him to hold on to his sanity; others forced him to confront his past in varying levels of awfulness.
Still, Nick had seen this song and dance number before. He had seen his friends try; he had seen them succeed in all but the last, most persistent, and most stubborn shackle.
He had heard their experiences. Urek, Berk, and Gibson pretty much confirmed the situation for him and Patricia, allowing them to prepare and expect what they’re about to experience.
Because of this, Nick had braced himself and was sufficiently warned and prepared for what happened.
He made it through the extremely realistic illusions; he had persevered and broken the shackles restricting his phantom one by one.
It started with his temples, then his neck, wrists, and ankle shackles.
Soon, only the last one was left. The mid-section shackle.
To say that Nick felt nervous this time around would be the understatement of the century. This was, after all, where his friends failed. This mid-section shackle was the toughest wall that prevented them from reaching the peak of existence. They had resented it, feared it, and had been uncertain about it for quite some time.
Hell, even now, it made Nick second-guess himself if he’s truly prepared for this.
And of course, the perpetual pain from the tribulation lightning that accompanied this test also grated on his nerves.
Looking at his real body now, a deep frown was clear on his face. Nick’s clothes were stained with his blood because of the injuries he had to endure during this breakthrough.
Alas, Nick didn’t come all this way to back out. He will see this through, and regardless of success or failure, he’d keep his head high.
And so, with a deep and resigned breath, he immersed his consciousness into that shackle to begin breaking it.
Crack!
That crisp sound was, in fact, only heard by a select group of people. The one who heard it the loudest was, of course, Nick himself.
The sound caused his eyes to fly wide open. He stared at it and saw the web of cracks all over its surface.
This shackle, this one thing that stopped his friends, this shackle that once proved to be stubborn, solid, and absolutely maddening, now looked rather fragile, much to Nick’s overwhelming surprise.
But his eyes also sparkled upon learning this.
When he injected his consciousness into that shackle, he felt the Origin Destruction Diagram in his inner world tremble into wakefulness.
As if sensing the shackle’s presence and seeing it as a hostile influence to its own, the diagram released a snarl, or at least what counts as one for something like this, and that force was enough to damage the shackle itself.
Seeing that happen shocked the daylights out of Nick. At the same time, it also filled him with excitement.
Encouraged, he mobilized the diagram. He released it from its leash and allowed it to attack the final shackle that’s binding him.
And as if sensing its owner’s desire, the diagram manifested. It shot like a comet and blasted the shackle apart.
Boom!
It took just a single impact, and the shackle broke apart as if it were some precious vase hit by a thrown rock.
Nick felt the moment it broke its hold on his phantom. Its pieces dissipated like smoke, and all of a sudden, there’s this overwhelming sense of freedom that assaulted him from out of nowhere.
It’s so shocking that he found himself reeling from the sheer surprise of it all.
Something within him was liberated, and Nick had to keep his mouth shut to prevent the whoop of joy and exhilaration from escaping.
Then, instinctively, he looked at the presence of the Supreme Will.
The tribulation it sent had now retreated; it faded the moment the last shackle was broken.
Previously, even Nick had to respect and fear the presence of the Supreme Will. But now? Nick wasn’t afraid of it anymore.
He felt confident enough to say that he now stood at the same level as the Supreme Will, which is bizarre on its own. Even more so when he felt that the Supreme Will was suddenly friendly with him.
How strange, truly…
And then, there’s what happened next.
With the last shackle broken, Nick felt unprecedented levels of comfort and freedom. The sensation flooded his entire body, immersing him in warmth and joy.
He then felt his existence elevating to a whole new level. He could feel not only his inner world expanding voraciously but also his soul and physical body sublimating into something truly divine and unrivaled.
Nick felt good. He felt so good that he was losing himself in it.
When he came down from his euphoria, Nick felt perfect.
It’s inexplicable, truly. He couldn’t even begin to know where to start. He just knew that from how he’s practically invincible and inevitable.
All of this pointed out one thing that’s very obvious by now.
Nick succeeded.
He had become a Primal Origin Lifeform.
