Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking - Chapter 880: ’CS’

Chapter 880: ’CS’
—
They couldn’t find the identity of the one who cleansed the Black Pegasus Chaos Realm of demons and infernal energy.
Even after they made sure to scour every nook and cranny of this chaos realm, they couldn’t find any clues. They have no idea if this person was a human or a creature from another intelligent and sentient race.
At least, in that aspect, they couldn’t find anything that’s worth their attention.
Nick, however, found a stone wall with written words on it, which gave them everything they’d need to know.
—
If my predictions are correct, and I’m quite certain that they are, then you—who have reached the current peak of life evolution—will be the first one to read this.
First of all, you’re welcome.
You and your friends’ indecisiveness was, quite frankly, astonishing. Especially for a bunch of old folks, you all are. You’ve got what it takes—skill, power, time, resources, etc.—to wipe out these pesky demons pretty quickly, yet instead of marching ahead to get rid of a potential threat, you chose to stall instead. Which, in turn, gave them more time to improve and plan ahead.
I know that you’re all long-lived individuals and that your power has been refined to its utmost. You truly don’t see demons as much of a threat, and you think that their ambitions are laughable. I do too; they’re pretty stupid, not gonna lie.
But they are a threat, regardless of how big or how little. And I, for one, can’t allow them to prosper. I most certainly can’t wait until the Black Pegasus Chaos Realm is completely consumed by infernal energy.
When I came here, I heard it crying out for help. The chaos realm was suffering immensely. It’s dying. And I simply am unable to ignore its call for help.
That’s why I decided to wipe them out on my own—the demons and the infernal energy, that is.
So, again, you’re welcome.
As you’ve seen, I was successful. But that wasn’t the end of it.
Getting rid of those foul creatures solved the immediate problem, not the lasting effect they left.
The Black Pegasus Chaos Realm, even after my actions, was still dying. The flames of its life, its existence, were flickering dangerously. I couldn’t leave it behind like that.
It’s why I created the Grand Vitality Return Formation that you’ve seen already.
Don’t touch that, by the way.
It’s not that I’m looking down on your skills. All of us are aware that this was beyond you. You’ve already recognized what it does and where it is. You know that it’s important for the restoration of this chaos realm, so please, if you have any sense of propriety, don’t touch it.
You can look, but not touch.
Anyways, it’s going to take at least 2000 years, more or less, for the full restoration to happen. The formation will dispel itself once the job’s done.
Wait until it’s over before bringing more people here.
Yes, I know you all want to colonize this chaos realm. Go for it; I allow you to. But only after its full restoration.
Don’t worry about the Horde or other creatures finding this place. The Grand Vitality Return Formation is equipped with an unplottable function. Until after its full restoration, nobody but you five and I will be able to come and go into this chaos realm. That, I guarantee.
Best Regards,
CS
P.S. You’ve sensed the place far outside the Five Known Chaos Realms. That is the Lost Void; inside it is a place called the Limitless Continent, and at its core is the Origin Heaven Continent. I don’t know much about that place, but they only send out invites in a unique way. I can’t say more. You can’t enter that place by bashing your way in; they’d kill you before you could even make a dent. I told you this to keep you from doing something incredibly stupid.
—
“Well…” Nick smiled wryly after he was finished reading the message out loud. “…ain’t that something?”
“I feel you.” Urek nodded sagely. “Whoever this ’CS’ was, it seems that they’re not only good at formations but also divination.”
“There’s no usable traces here,” Gibson declared. “There’s nothing—not a single DNA, life sign, or spiritual trace—nothing that I can use to track, locate, or identify who this person is.”
“I think we can safely assume that this person was human,” Berk suggested. “I mean, they knew who we are and what we’re set out to do.”
“Our indecisiveness to act against demons, you mean?” Nick raised a brow.
“Nothing against you, Berk. But it’s normal for this individual to know who we are because of Divination. It’s also very possible that this message was written in such a familiar way to confuse us and make us think that they’re one of us.”
“…right, good catch.” Berk admitted that Gibson has a point.
“Well, whoever this ’CS’ is, I’m glad that they wiped out those pesky demons and that foul infernal energy. I’m even more grateful that they didn’t leave this chaos realm to fall apart and took great efforts to install this, frankly, immense and very complicated formation to help its restoration.”
“Not to mention, they even allowed us to benefit from this place after the job’s done,” Patricia added. “I’m usually not one to easily believe ridiculous coincidences like this, but I genuinely can’t sense any fabrications, lies, and/or deceit in this. ’CS’ gave us the reins after wiping out the demons. That’s rare.”
Urek looked at Nick and saw his contemplative expression. His friend’s eyes were focused on the bottom text on the wall, which frankly made him alarmed.
“Nick, dude. Come on. You’ve been warned. Don’t do it.”
“Chill. I wasn’t thinking about it.” Nick chuckled. “I’m just curious.”
Their exchange was heard by the rest, and they immediately figured out what they’re talking about.
“Lost Void, Limitless Continent, and Origin Heaven Continent, huh?” Gibson muttered, “If you hadn’t said a word before, I wouldn’t have believed that these places existed.”
“Me too,” Berk agreed. “It’s incredible that even we didn’t know that there are others out there.”
“That’s not really our fault,” Nick stated. “When I said that that place was far outside of the Five Known Chaos Realms, I meant really far, like at the very far depths of the Primitive Universe far.”
“Even our fastest ships would only arrive there after, maybe, tens of thousands of years. That’s how far it is. Hell, even I would have to make a considerable effort to arrive close to that place. It’s already a miracle that my senses could even extend that far.” Nick laughed dryly at this.
“They said that only those who are invited can go there. How do you think the invitations are sent out?”
“Hell if I know! I would’ve told you already if I knew and was allowed to tell you.” Nick shrugged. “Besides, the last message was clearly directed to me.”
“It seems that ’CS’ knew that my curiosity about that place would be detrimental to us, if not outright result in my death. They’re clearly warning me from going, and I’m more than happy to acquiesce. I haven’t enjoyed my invincible status long enough just yet.”
To say that his friends were relieved that Nick decided not to go would certainly be a statement.
**
While the five of them were busy discovering the things he left behind in the Black Pegasus Chaos Realm, ’’CS’—also known as Cedric Stormrider—could be found relaxing in his territory.
There was a faint smile on his face as he sensed their arrival in that place. He could even hear their discussions.
He found it funny that Gibson thought that he was misleading them into believing that he’s human. That wasn’t his intention at all, but if it worked like this, then Cedric wouldn’t object.
It’s not like he left that message to make them argue about his real identity. He left it there to address the situation and steer the development of that chaos realm in the right direction.
In the future he saw where he didn’t leave a message. The Human Sovereigns would’ve immediately started bringing in people to start the colonization. Although this doesn’t really doom them all, it does hamper the prosperity of humanity’s future colony.
He had seen how the new creatures and the rich natural resources would appear if the restoration was allowed to be completed before the chaos realm was colonized. Cedric prefers that outcome compared to the latter, so he chose to act.
The most important part, though, is his personal warning to Nick.
Cedric had seen the future where Nick’s curiosity got the better of him and got him killed miserably. It also showed him what happens when somebody defies the authority of those within the Origin Heaven Continent.
He didn’t want Nick to die so soon after reaching this far. That’s why he warned him to reel in his curiosity and chose to inform him of some things he knew.
’Here’s to hoping that that’s enough to keep the old man’s curiosity occupied for a while.’
