The Human Sovereigns tried some more to see if they could find clues they could use to figure out the identity of this ’CS.’ Alas, they failed.

And seeing as they really don’t have anything else they could do in the Black Pegasus Chaos Realm, they returned home.

They’ve agreed that they will periodically check the state of the Black Pegasus Chaos Realm from time to time but would mostly leave it alone. They just need to wait for 2000 years, and the realm will be ready for colonization.

Of course, that doesn’t stop them from drawing up plans on how to more efficiently colonize that realm, but it’s way too early for them to do anything since Black Pegasus is still in its early stages of revitalization.

Aside from that, Nick’s phenomenal breakthrough has somewhat faded.

Nick didn’t really change much after making his breakthrough. He still looked, sounded, and acted the same as he always did. His friends will admit that they were somewhat expecting him to become a snob or start acting like he was above them all after his breakthrough. But no. So far, Nick hadn’t shown signs of that.

He’s still the same old bloke they knew and loved.

That said, Nick himself couldn’t fully explain to them how profound this breakthrough actually was for him. He repeatedly emphasized the feeling of freedom he got afterwards, but his words weren’t enough to fully encapsulate what that actually means. And he knows that his friends couldn’t truly understand it.

This was one of those things that must be experienced. That said, getting there was extremely difficult.

Although he looked calm and serene, Nick was actually still reeling from the sheer profundity of it all.

He doesn’t act like it, but he knew, deep in his bones, that he’s above everybody else now.

He’s literally standing at the peak of existence—the highest mountain peak that has ever existed. And the view here was immense and overwhelming.

’Is this what the Supreme Will felt all this time? ’He found himself wondering about this a couple of times by now.

Nick felt like he could understand everything so long as he put his mind into it. As if nothing was out of his reach. Any limits that had stopped him flat before no longer existed for him. The previously forbidden territories of research were all but suggestions to him now.

And more importantly, this wasn’t his dead end.

Just because he had become a Primal Origin Lifeform doesn’t mean that there’s nothing for him to pursue or improve upon. No, if anything, his newfound power and perspective opened up more avenues for him to look into.

His concept laws, for example. Although he had reached the Origin Law level in his Destruction Laws, that is but one facet of concept laws.

Now that he’s no longer under the purview and judgement of the Supreme Will, Nick could stare at the very structure of concept laws directly and learn everything there is to know. The Supreme Will won’t stop or limit him anymore.

Sure, this will still take some time, but so what? What good was his immortality if he wasn’t using it wisely?

He quite literally has all the time in the world to expand his knowledge even more.

Hell, he even had a feeling that he could create a whole new chaos realm just for himself. How absurd was that?

But, unbeknownst to him, there was one person that was able to pull a wool over his eyes.

Nick wouldn’t have possibly imagined that it’s Cedric out of all people.

To be fair, it’s not like he’s paying close attention to the guy. As far as Nick was aware, Cedric was more than content to stay within his territory and play as a Sector Lord for the rest of his entire life.

Aside from managing his territory really well, definitely way better than other sector lords out there, he hadn’t made too much noise at all. Hell, he doesn’t even use his first name to act as a sector lord.

His subjects refer to him as Sector Lord Stormrider; they did not connect him to the incredibly outstanding genius that is ’Dawnbringer’ at all. All they know is that their lord was mysterious, strong, and an extremely capable sector lord. That’s it.

Sure, it was Cedric who pointed the Human Sovereigns to the direction of Origin Laws, and it’s also he who gifted them the Divine Cloning Art. But that’s just about it. Both of those things could be attributed to his luck and fortune. It certainly didn’t make them think that he’s hiding more than that.

That’s why Nick never guessed that the ’CS’ who warned him not to be too curious about the Lost Void, the Limitless Continent, and the Origin Heaven Continent was ’Cedric Stormrider,’ the very same, capable, and seemingly innocuous Sector Lord of the Rising Sun Sector Domain.

He also would never guess that Cedric was already way ahead of him in terms of origin law practice. Cedric having the acknowledgement of two Origin Laws wasn’t something that Nick would entertain even in his wildest imaginations.

Nick also wouldn’t guess that Cedric could hide a lot of things from him. Some are hidden in plain sight; others were so deeply hidden that even Nick’s apparent omniscience wouldn’t know of it.

Obviously, Cedric already knew that Nick had gone ahead.

In fact, Cedric knew this was going to happen. He didn’t need any form of divination; just a chain of logic sufficed. And he wouldn’t perform any kind of divination relating to Nick, because that would risk him finding out. Cedric’s not yet ready to reveal himself, so he’s being careful.

As for how he’s able to hide his true self from Nick’s penetrating gaze? It’s simple. Formations.

Yes. That’s one advantage he had against Nick’s growing omniscience. The profound art of runes and formations was a very complicated subject that even Cedric struggled with. But with enough time, practice, patience, and resources, it’s almost inevitable that he’d find success in it.

It would take thousands of years, even for Nick, to gain just a little bit of a deeper understanding of runes and formation if he starts now. Unlike him, Cedric had a more intimate understanding and skill for it.

Cedric’s far ahead of him in this case, and he certainly had more practice.

He’s so far ahead that Cedric already built a new isolated area where he can go when he receives yet another acknowledgement of origin laws without alerting Nick.

All he needed was to think about going there, and he’d appear in that area without Nick knowing he’s already gone. This place has been created with layers upon layers of runes, forming a grand formation that kept everything about this place a secret from everybody.

It’s able to escape from Nick’s scrutiny, that’s for sure.

As for the Supreme Will itself or the Origin Law Source, they could find this place, which is fine because it’s not like he’s expecting either of them to reveal the existence and location of this place to Nick.

Cedric also knew that Patricia would be next. It’s only natural since that lady was never too far behind Nick when it comes to everything.

Obviously, he had already prepared against her too.

As for Gibson, Berk, and Urek, they wouldn’t be receiving the acknowledgement of origin laws anytime soon, so he didn’t need to think about them just yet.

Cedric would reveal himself to them only when he thinks that it’s the right time for them to know. It’s not up to them or anybody else that is not him to reveal his deepest secrets. Not even the Supreme Will or the Origin Law Source.

So, let Nick think that he’s all-powerful and all-knowing. Let him think that nothing could escape his gaze. Let him think that he’s got everybody figured out. It’s fine; no need to ruin his parade.

Sometimes, ignorance is bliss.

What he doesn’t know wouldn’t hurt him. Let his attention drift to somewhere else. If at all possible, send him to the Horde. Let him get rid of those bugs once and for all.

Humanity’s vendetta against the Horde made them mortal enemies. One cannot live while the other survives.

Now that Nick had stepped into the peak of existence. He could march towards the Crimson Womb Universe and completely eradicate every single bug there ever was.

And given how horrible the relationship of humans and the bugs is, there’s no way Nick would be in a hurry.

For all the harassment and impediment that humanity suffered from the hands of the Bug Empress, there’s no way Nick would let their suffering end too soon. He would make it as painful as he could possibly make it.

He doesn’t have any plans on making this swift, merciful, or quick for those pesky bugs. And ensure that it’s most likely that he’d wait until Patricia reaches the same level as he is before making a move.

Two was better than one, after all.
