Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking - Chapter 918: The Long Grind

Chapter 918: The Long Grind
—
The planning period for the colonization of two additional chaos realms for humanity continued in the background. The Human Sovereigns are being extremely careful with this, making sure that they build the perfect foundation for both chaos realms so that they can maximize the benefits for their people.
They also made sure that others wouldn’t know about this just yet. Not their own people, nor any other creature for that matter. With humanity potentially being able to colonize three out of the five known chaos realms, there was no way the citizens of the other distant chaos realms would stay still and allow them to do it smoothly. They will certainly do everything they can to stop or compete for other chaos realms.
Not that that’s going to be a problem. As if Nick and Patricia would let that happen. They’re determined to colonize both the Crimson Womb Chaos Realm and the Black Pegasus Chaos Realm. If someone tries to stop them, they’d learn very quickly why that’s a bad idea.
There are already some measures being deployed to prevent the citizens of those two distant chaos realms from discovering what goes on in the chaos realms that humanity wants to colonize. Gibson, Urek, and Berk sent their clones to cloak the areas to prevent them from being discovered.
Nick and Pat personally made it their mission to keep a close eye on both chaos realms periodically to ensure that everything was going well.
While that was happening, Cedric continued to do his thing…
Not that he’s unaware of what’s happening. He had a way of knowing the plans of the Human Sovereign without actively spying on them. He could predict their moves well enough to know their tendencies, and he’s rarely wrong about them.
Even so, he didn’t interfere. He already did what he wanted to do. What happens next was up to them. He also didn’t feel like it was the time for him to reveal himself. He’s more than satisfied to keep a low profile while he pursues the ultimate peak of existence.
His clone in the Origin Heaven Castle continued to comprehend law essences. The more he knew, the harder it gets, but he never felt discouraged. If anything, he knew that this was normal.
If it were easy, then others would’ve already stepped into that stage. There wouldn’t be any need for competition at all.
Since he’s still around that still competing, means that he still had a chance. It’s a race for them, and the first one to finish takes it all.
Learning that this was a race didn’t bring too much pressure to him. Even though he didn’t know how far behind he actually was, he wasn’t worried. He’s young and quite confident with his talent. Angelo being friendly to him and helping him out made him understand the implications.
He had a great chance of overtaking others. That much he knew. That’s why he’s not pressured.
With the five basic elements and sword laws taken to the Origin Law level, Cedric originally wanted to pursue the space laws next, or time laws, maybe even destruction, life, or creation laws.
But he changed his mind at some point. Those laws are too difficult. Sure, he had the foundations to pursue them, but it’d take a long time for him to make some actual progress.
Therefore, he decided to start with the simple ones first, build his way up of you will.
After spending thousands of years pondering about the profundity of origin laws, Cedric discovered small nuances that hinted that, at the end of the line, everything was connected.
It sounds simple, direct, and obvious. But this was actually a huge thing that many practitioners failed to notice. A lot of them think that attaining the Origin Law level of a very complex concept law makes them stronger than others.
And that may be true, but it’s not like that’s the end of the road. The ultimate peak involves understanding the Origin Source Laws—the embodiment of everything. Reaching the origin law level in one concept law barely counts as a percentage in attaining that ultimate communion.
From simplicity to complexity and to simplicity again. It’s a profound cycle through and through, one that is the key to truly reaching the apex.
Cedric had a lot to work on, but he wasn’t discouraged. If anything, he’s looking forward to it.
Now that he had the foundations of the basic elemental laws at the Origin Law level, the rest should come easily.
Lightning, light, darkness, etc. The other elements, including the more complex ones, should come through smoothly. After that, there were space, time, life, death, yin, yang, creation, destruction…and ultimately, Primordial Chaos Law—the acme, the apex, the true form of the Origin Source Laws, one that was even more elusive than the Supreme Will or the Primal Origin Lifeform Realm.
Has anybody ever truly comprehended the Primordial Chaos Law?
Unlike other concept laws, the Primordial Chaos Law was a straight-up origin law. Its law essences were the origin laws of other elements and concept laws. It’s the real source of everything.
The one that Cedric comprehended in the past was a false one. It doesn’t count and will never even come close to the real one. In fact, it is so fake that it got erased the moment it came into contact with the concept laws of the primitive universe.
That’s how fragile that concept was. Therefore, it doesn’t even deserve to be mentioned after the real one.
Alas, this too is a distant concept to Cedric. As it was already mentioned, the Primordial Chaos Law’s law essences are the Origin Law level or all concept laws out there.
Unless Cedric eventually comprehended every concept and law out there and raised them to the origin law level, he shouldn’t even think about approaching the Primordial Chaos Laws.

And so, years passed as Cedric continued comprehending concept laws…
Since he was already invited as a guest at the Origin Heaven Castle, Cedric doesn’t have a deadline for the trials anymore and no longer has to worry about being sent to The Other Side.
He could participate in the trials whenever he wanted or needed. He’s no longer on borrowed time.
That said, Cedric still followed a schedule. He decided that each time he comprehended an Origin Law and gained its acknowledgment, he would participate in a trial shortly after to start comprehending the next one.
He’s going at it at his own pace, not really in a hurry or pressured to do it. There’s no fixed schedule, just a routine that works for him.
And just like this, the amount of recognized Origin Laws under his belt continued to increase steadily.
Others had no idea that he’s marching his fast. Had they known, they’d probably be terrified of his progress.
His rate of comprehension was terrifyingly swift. What takes others thousands of years to accomplish, he does it in mere decades. And he doesn’t get tired, doesn’t enter a slump, or get bored out of his mind. To him, this hectic schedule was practically a vacation, and nothing was more satisfying to him that knowing that he’s making strides one step at a time towards his goals.
At this point, he had already overtaken the most senior competitor in this castle.
That person had 15 Origin Laws under his belt and was already 15 million years old—a detail he learned from the servant ghosts in this castle.
Cedric just had his 16th Origin Law recognized, and it hasn’t even been a thousand years since he came into this castle. Sure, the ones he knew weren’t as complex as others, but it’s still more than them.
Hell, the more simple concept laws he knew and raised to Origin Law level, the easier this gets for him. Because the more simple ones he learned, the more obvious it becomes to him that everything was connected and related.
His routine greatly helped here, and his abilities were growing more and more mysterious the more Origin Law he learned.
At this point, he became the most senior heir of this castle, according to the servant ghosts, at least. They don’t look at age, just abilities, and with his 16 Origin Laws he, of course, qualifies.
A little privilege he gets from that is that he could order the ghosts to falsify his information. He prevented them from telling everybody else of how many origin laws he had.
If others ask, he could have them say that he’s only got eight for now. This will prevent them from panicking and resorting to dirty tactics. Even Angelo wouldn’t know until it’s too late.
Cedric was never one to flaunt his abilities. His methods are his, and he’s not performing to entertain others. He’s not that bored, and he’s way past the point of caring about their opinions.
His goal was the ultimate peak, and he’s seeing a real chance of attaining that.
But while he’s out here focusing on his pursuit of the ultimate, the human sovereigns are getting busy with the start of the colonization.
