Chapter 155: Chapter 117: Lies Don’t Hurt People, Truth Is the Sharp Knife
’But what the hell are these Super Electromagnetic Cannon parts?’
Projects for the Super Electromagnetic Cannon had already been established among certain Reincarnator Families renowned for their technology and armaments, and many had even produced finished products.
However, the weapon had never been widely adopted.
The reason was that its energy-utilization efficiency failed to meet the required standards.
A single Super Electromagnetic Cannon required nearly half a city’s worth of power for each shot, yet its destructive force could only kill some Tier Two, or at best, Tier Three Exotic Beasts.
Considering its underwhelming destructive power versus its massive energy consumption, the Super Electromagnetic Cannon had no cost-effectiveness compared to other weapons.
Consequently, while many Reincarnator Families had researched the Super Electromagnetic Cannon, none had yet developed a battle-ready product.
’So why did our Lord buy all this equipment to assemble Super Electromagnetic Cannons?’
’And the specifications are so strange, completely different from anything on the market…’
’Could it be that our Lord isn’t satisfied with just assembling a batch of Energy Particle Beam Cannons? Is he now planning to build a few useless Super Electromagnetic Cannons as well?’
’Isn’t this just a complete waste of money?’
’Even if you’re determined to waste money, who would be foolish enough to buy a pile of electromagnetic cannon parts?’
Everyone was utterly bewildered.
Li Chang’an paid no mind to their confused stares.
After sorting through the materials, Li Chang’an casually pulled out a cannon barrel weighing several tons, set it on the ground, and announced, “Watch closely. I’ll demonstrate it for you all once!”
With that, he began to assemble it.
Each component of these “big toys” weighed tons, yet before a Tier Three Peak Martial Artist like Li Chang’an, they might as well have been building blocks, which he effortlessly pieced together.
The surrounding high-tech experts watched this, all of them completely dumbfounded.
’So it turns out our Lord isn’t a tech-focused Cultivator, but one who specializes in personal might?’
’A Martial Artist researching technological weapons…’
’Why did this give them the strange feeling of watching a blacksmith do needlepoint?’
’Can we really count on him for this?’
After all, each of the major families had its own technological barriers when it came to these weapons.
Although the Hua Country Reincarnator Alliance had proposed that the major families submit or share some of their weapon production technologies, the families were clearly resistant to the idea.
After all, they had already agreed to upload and complete the data on various Evolution Paths. If they also handed over the technology acquired in the Rebirth World, they would be left with no advantages whatsoever.
This was something the families absolutely could not accept.
The families sent representatives to negotiate with the Reincarnator Association for a long time. No one knew what kind of tacit agreement was reached, but the matter was eventually dropped.
Take the Kyoto Gu Family, for example.
The Energy Particle Beam Cannons they produced were the best on the market, with each shot currently capable of outputting between thirty and fifty thousand kilopascals of energy.
If a cluster projectile scored a direct hit or detonated within roughly twenty meters of a target, there was even a chance it could kill an ordinary Tier Four or even a Tier Five Extraordinary Beast.
The technology of the other families wasn’t nearly as good.
The Energy Particle Beam Cannon from the Xiang Family of Shanghai only output around thirty thousand kilopascals; it needed a direct hit to have any chance of killing an ordinary Tier Four or Tier Five Extraordinary Beast.
What Li Chang’an was assembling now, however, was an Energy Particle Beam Cannon he had developed based on technology acquired from the Cyber World.
About halfway through the assembly, Li Chang’an paused and glanced at the group of key personnel. “Did you all see that clearly?” he asked.
Hearing his question, the surrounding group of highly-educated experts seemed to snap out of a trance. A few had been able to follow along, but most of them just shook their heads.
Li Chang’an’s assembly speed was simply too fast.
The operations they would have needed mechanical arms to perform were like threading a needle in Li Chang’an’s hands; he had put together a half-finished product in just a few deft movements.
Seeing that most of them hadn’t understood, Li Chang’an gestured for them to look at the steps in the manual while he turned back and demonstrated the assembly of an Energy Particle Beam Cannon one more time.
This time, pretty much everyone understood.
However, the very instant they understood, they found themselves even more bewildered!
The Energy Particle Beam Cannon that Li Chang’an had assembled was completely different from any version currently available on the market.
Its different appearance was one thing.
But the parameters listed on the blueprint were so absurd they defied belief.
—Its theoretical output reached eighty to one hundred thousand kilopascals, its precision was frighteningly high, and the accuracy of its cluster projectiles within one thousand meters could supposedly reach ninety-nine percent!
If these theoretical parameters were real…
’Wouldn’t that make the Cluster Cannons produced by the Gu Family complete junk?’
The experts glanced at the parameters on the blueprint, then looked up at the unfamiliar model of the Particle Beam Cannon before them. For a moment, they were all at a loss for words.
Finally, one of them couldn’t hold back any longer. He swallowed hard and asked in a low voice, “Uh… um… Lord City Lord, are you sure the parameters for this cannon aren’t… marked incorrectly?”
Hearing this, Li Chang’an took the blueprint from them, looking a bit puzzled. “Incorrectly? Let me see… No, they’re correct!”
He had drawn this blueprint himself.
All the data was marked clearly. There were no issues.
Seeing that he still didn’t seem to grasp the issue, the crowd could hardly watch any longer. One by one, they started to whisper reminders, “Lord City Lord, the specs for the most advanced Energy Particle Beam Cannon on the market are only half of what’s listed for your cannon… Uh, um, is it possible you’ve been… scammed by someone?”
