Chapter 2149: A Feast With Old Friends
—–
Once lunch was made, we moved back to the large dining table, made of spirit wood from Root’s magic, and we served the food over the table.
I also made a lot of extra dishes of course, lots of meat, some salad, and baked goods to complement the pasta, such as pizzas, garlic bread, and lasagna.
We started eating without hesitation, while catching up with everyone else, and learning more about everyone and what they had done.
“We’ve been studying how to use our abilities; we happen to be more gifted than we thought.”
“Psychic Powers are not magic, but a second type of power we’re slowly mastering.”
The twins seemed quite proud of their progress, and as someone that also had psychic powers like them, I could immediately tell they were not wrong, their power had grown immensely.
“Yeah, we went through an adventure that taught us a lot about Psychic Powers as well,” I nodded. “Like how it originates from a connection our brains create with another Plane of Existence called the Esper Dimension. Weird creatures live there.”
“Y-You know about the Esper Dimension?”
“How?!”
Both wins were shocked, as I quickly revealed to them I was an Esper as well, a unique Psychic Dragon at that.
“You’re an Esper as well, sir Drake?!”
“Oh wow! This is amazing…!”
“Well…” I looked at my family, everyone showed their own Psychic Aura, glowing with unique colors. “Everyone awakened this power in the… uh, the adventure we went through.”
“W-What?!”
“No way…”
Both twins were flabbergasted.
Ah damn it, will they feel less special now? I hope not.
“This is wonderful…”
“So many like us, we aren’t alone anymore, sister.”
Ah! Phew, thank god. I guess they’re just happy.
We talked with the twins about psychic powers for a while, while everyone else were also chatting with each other.
“I’ve been researching biomechanical engineering on my own, using the scraps from Greenwood’s labs,” Callon said. “What he did to my body… Although traumatizing, it allowed me to learn this new craft, although I cannot conjure the power of Technomancy myself, such magic is beyond my reach. A power of the Four Reincarnators that saved our world in the past, which he stole from their inheritance.”
“I also have it, but I didn’t steal it from anybody…” Kate said, showing several pieces of metal assemble mechanically into a cube full of wires and clicking parts.
“W-What?!” Callon gasped. “Incredible…! You’re a natural born talent! If only… I had a tenth of that power…”
“If you want, I can help you by giving you the ability to use my magic… not everyone can, but those with high affinity like you… it’s possible,” Kate nodded. “Do you want to try?”
“E-Eh? Is it possible? Really?!” the man wondered.
“Yes, but you need to take this vaccine,” Kate smiled lightly, showing him a vaccine full of her nanomachines.
“What is this?” Callon wondered.
Wait, is she going to give him a nanomachine injection to enhance his power and also use him as an experiment subject?
She did that again; I can’t let her do it once more.
“Wait, Kate, don’t do it,” I said. “I already told you before, you shouldn’t experiment on people.”
“Huh? But daddy, I wasn’t going to experiment, this is a tested one…” Kate sighed. “It would give him the power he wants, and I would get valuable information… it’s fair… right? Right daddy?”
She looked at me with puppy eyes I could hardly resist.
“W-What’s going on?” Callon, however, had no clue what we were even talking about.
“Don’t mind it, son,” I said. “Kate, you can just give him a Divine Blessing as well. He’s a mortal.”
“Ah right,” Kate nodded, waving her hand. “Hmmm, there!”
She released a shockwave of divine silver light from her hands, reaching Callon and injecting the energy deep within his soul, forging a Divine Blessing and Divine Protection within him.
“Woah…! W-What’s this?! You were a goddess this entire time, little girl?” Callon wondered. “Right, most true dragons tend to be divine…! I have a blessing, and this is…! Ooohhh!”
Alma’s sister celebrated as metallic parts floated by his command, assembling into strange gadgets. I suppose the sky was the limit for him now, good for him.
“Thank you for helping big brother,” Aria said with a gentle smile. “He’s always working hard even though he shouldn’t… I wish I had a way to heal his exhaustion or his injuries from overwork all the time…”
“Hmmm, if you want to help someone, I can help with that too,” Benladra said. “Let me bless you.”
My daughter then proceeded to bless Aria too, giving her a Divine Blessing and Divine Protection at the same time. Aria felt overflowing with golden holy light and divine power coming from her body.
Unlike us, everyone here was a mortal except Root, who was something different altogether, and they weren’t becoming actual gods any time soon either.
However, despite being a mortal Alma had Endless Mana, special Spells that utilized it, and Knife, elevating her to god-level easily, or even far beyond if her skills and spells have improved.
The rest had Unique Classes that can do their own things as well, and their Mana Cores seem to be pretty high in Ranks, most being Rank 7, and with the divine blessing, both Callon and Aria managed to receive divine power within them, though not belonging to them, they were enhanced by its powers.
“Incredible, you’re all like gods now, huh?” Hermes wondered.
“Thank you for blessing my siblings, I really am indebted now,” Alma sighed. “And…”
“We are not stopping there,” Benladann said. “You’ll need as much help as possible, so let us give you some strength.”
“Indeed,” I nodded. “Now, stand still.”
FLAAASH!
We shared more of our divine power through Divine Blessings and Divine Protections, enhancing everyone’s survivalist immensely and giving them new powers and spells within their existing ones.
After taking the blessings, they felt reborn anew, overflowing with new power, while remaining as mortals… I believed that there were more paths than simply ascending into gods now, and mortals had certain benefits, such as being able to take on several divine blessings, something gods can’t do as gods…
“Incredible, I feel so much stronger now…” Callon said. “Drake, what is this?!”
“I can hardly believe it too!” Alma said. “I feel stronger… my body feels so tough now…”
“Yeah,” Hermes nodded. “It’s great! I feel as light as a feather now! And I thought I had reached my limit already…”
