Epic of Ice Dragon: Reborn As An Ice Dragon With A System - Chapter 2206: Finding Her

Chapter 2206: Finding Her

“Mommy, it’s going to be okay, don’t worry about that stuff,” Benladra said. “You got us now! It doesn’t matter how your previous life was…” The girl hugged her mother as Benladann nodded, shedding a few tears before hugging her tightly.
“I know my baby, I know… I love you so much,” Benladann said, kissing her forehead. “My cute little princess… my pride and joy, my light…”
“Heheh, that tickles mom!” Benladra giggled as Benladann tickled her belly a little.
Drake quickly walked to her side to comfort her, hugging her as well.
“It’s going to be okay, Benladann. We’ll get through this and… I know you want to find out more about the truth of your past, don’t you?” Drake said.
“I do…” Benladann nodded. “I want to talk with that man and learn what’s exactly going on…”
“We’ll do that,” Drake said. “Alright… I think that’s all, right? Alma, you don’t have anything else to say?”
“No…” Alma said. “Like Benladann, I’ve embraced my new life and…” She held Hermes’ hand. “I’ve also found someone I love… and there’s also three of our kids waiting back home too, so that’s a lot of love.”
“Hahah,” Hermes laughed. “I guess so.”
“No matter what your previous life was, I still love you, Alma,” said Callon. “You’re my dear sister after all.”
“Thank you brother…” Alma smiled.
“It is indeed a very interesting story, how these two worlds have finally come together and how much you share with one another about it,” Root commented. “Now, I suppose we’ve got someone to talk with, right?”
“Yeah…” Drake said. “Charlotte, sorry if things ended up going this way… I know it was about your family and you…”
“Ah, no, no, I’m happy it turned out this way! I honestly don’t even want to talk about my family anymore, so go ahead please,” Charlotte said. “For real.”
“Oh, okay then,” Drake nodded. “You sure?”
“Yeah, I’ll talk with my parents about the rest of the things in private, but they already said I could use my room however I wanted… I’m kind of a Goddess at this point myself too, so they aren’t really going to force me to do anything,” Charlotte shrugged. “I may go between your divine realm and my home here from now on. Hope you don’t mind.”
“Not at all. I’m glad I was able to help you reconcile with your parents… even if it was, uh, well, a little forced,” Drake said.
“Yeah, it was forced as hell, but you tried, and you helped me. Thank you,” Charlotte said. “You’re a really good boss! Okay, now I’ll get going. There’s lots I need to catch up on, old friends to meet, also my room! I want to check some places… maybe talk with one of my many siblings while I’m at it!”
The girl who was so afraid of her family was now happy she was finally back home. She ran out as the guards panicked, telling the tomboy princess not to run in the hallway.
“Well, there she goes. At least she’s happy,” Drake smiled, laughing a little. “Ah, right, you must have seen a lot of stuff. Sorry about all of this.”
Drake realized Amethyst and Triton had been just spectating everything as it happened behind them, confused to no end.
“Yeah, it’s confusing as hell…” Amethyst said. “But I’m pretty invested right now.”
“Me too…” Triton said. “We’ll fight zombies next? I wonder how strong they are?”
“They’re probably just fodder, but we’ll see,” Drake smiled as they walked downstairs toward the underground area of the castle.
He still had a few things in mind, such as meeting the Venerable he saw earlier and finding Celene, but he knew this was perhaps part of the Venerable’s plan, maybe even a whole test.
Drake felt that way, like it wasn’t just a coincidence that he told him to come see him once the issue with Charlotte was over…
“Ah, I finally found you.”
Drake’s eyes glowed. His Draconic Aura had been scanning the entire city for a few minutes now, and he finally found her, small signals of divine power mixed with the very rare moonlight element.
A woman with slightly pale skin, long pink hair tied into many braids, and gentle golden eyes was purchasing a lot of fruit from the market.
She had a long tail covered in clear, metallic pink scales, and she also had wings hidden beneath her robes, alongside horns clearly visible through the clothes covering her head.
Drake kept a close look at her as he saw her moving through the alleyways and finally reaching a small, cramped house, where a bunch of children greeted her.
“Hello children, I’m back with food!”
“Big sis!”
“You’re back!”
“I’m hungry…”
There were about seven of them, and there wasn’t any other adult there, only her…
Drake’s eyes widened for a moment as he realized that this entire time, the reason she was here, the reason she had been living with mortals, hiding among them…
It was because she was taking care of orphans.
“There you go! Please calm down, eat one at a time, okay?”
The children grabbed the fruit and started eating happily, sitting on their sofa or the floor, while she walked with the rest of the groceries to the kitchen, beginning to cook their lunch.
“Have you studied so far? You all know how to read a few letters, right?”
“Nuh-huh…”
“I studied!”
“I read… two pages…!”
“I read half one, hehe.”
“Big sis, when do we go to school?”
“Not yet children, you still have to learn more before you’ll start going there. But don’t worry, I am here, so nothing bad should happen to you… as long as you aren’t reckless when I’m not around.”
“Okeee!”
“Hmm, I love apple!”
“I hate apple!”
“Don’t throw the food on the ground!”
“Buaaaahhh!”
“C-Come on now, children, don’t cry now… who made little Eysian cry?” Celene walked out of the kitchen and grabbed the youngest one, a little dwarf girl with gray hair, as she cried in her arms.
