Chapter 2292: Oda Nobunaga’s Endless Castle [10]
—–
“My apologies, my dear friend! Bring the best sake right now!” Oda Nobunaga roared, as more servants came running with bottles of sake. The man by Oda’s side drank from the bottle, laughing as he saw Drake struggling against his divine friends. “Bwahahaha! Look at him! He’s struggling so much! And these are the bastards we are supposed to be afraid of, Oda?! What were you having so many difficulties with?!”
“Hahah, I agree, this is pathetic,” Oda laughed, rubbing his long beard. “Perhaps we should have… Ungh?!”
However, in that moment, Oda changed. His skin turned red, his size tripled, and he became muscular. His beard and hair turned white, and he gained a third crimson eye, alongside a huge pair of red and black horns emerging from his head. His armor and shirt were torn off, revealing his muscular and intimidating physique. His red skin was covered in countless black, cursed tattoos.
“Aaah, Hajun,” the man spoke, his long silver hair waving in the powerful gusts produced by the emergence of the Demon King of the Sixth Heaven.
“I have awakened from my slumber. What is happening here, Susanoo?” Hajun asked, his eyes looking everywhere. “Aahh, one of Oda’s plans?”
“Indeed! He was just in the middle of explaining things to me. You couldn’t have appeared at a worse time,” laughed Susanoo, patting his shoulders. “How about some sake and delicious sashimi, eh?”
“I’ll drink the sake, but nothing compares to the fresh blood and flesh of Kami,” Hajun smiled, licking his lips. “Don’t you have any available, butcherer of heaven?”
“Aw, come on, you don’t have to call me that! Hahaha! Where did that nickname come from? I’m still trying to deal with Buddha and the others who didn’t want to ally with me. It won’t be easy. They aren’t as stupid and naïve as my dear sister was,” laughed Susanoo.
“Hmph, I see, then… What is this?” Hajun looked at the projection, his calm demeanor unchanged, his expressionless eyes glaring at the pearl. “Oh, I see…”
“If that lizard dies, you can have him, Hajun! Maybe that would satiate you?” Susanoo smiled while laughing, drinking another whole bottle of sake and asking for more while breaking the bottle. “More! More sake!” he laughed as he slapped the butt of one of the women.
“Hmph, I wouldn’t be so confident, Susanoo…” Hajun smiled, mocking Susanoo as the Kami glanced back at the pearl’s projection.
“Huh?” Susanoo’s eyes widened as he saw one of his friends, Futsunushi, his dear strategist, having his entire body sliced apart and then his soul eaten. “W-Wha…?”
His naïve golden eyes widened as his face twisted into utter horror, surprise, anger, and disbelief all combined at the same time.
“FUTSUNUSHI!!!”
As he screamed, it didn’t take long for Drake’s battle with the other Kami to escalate even further, as the remaining two struggled to actually damage Drake permanently.
“What the hell is happening?! How could this be?! Futsunushi died?! No, it can’t be possible!” Susanoo screamed. “Kill him, kill him, you two! Avenge him!”
As Susanoo screamed in anger, Hajun remained there, laughing at his misfortune.
Yes, they were “allies,” but Hajun was a being of chaos, a demon born from all the negativity within Amaterasu when she created Zipangu.
Hence, he had no true friends and no true allies.
“Hahahah! What’s wrong, Susanoo?! Your stupid friends are dying! Are you not going to do anything?” Hajun laughed.
“No…! Damn it! What in the nine heavens is happening?!” Susanoo screamed angrily, tears falling from his eyes as he broke the bottles of sake in front of him, throwing the perfectly good divine godfish sashimi onto the floor. “They’re all dead?! That bastard… He killed my friends and ate their souls!”
“Bwahahahaa! HAHAHAHAHAHA!” Hajun laughed, his laughter becoming more monstrous and demonic as he mocked Susanoo. “What’s wrong, Susanoo?! You shouldn’t have gotten so complacent! It seems that reigning over the Nine Heavens has made you stupider, or… were you always like this?!”
“Hajun! Stop mocking the death of my friends!” Susanoo roared as he quickly took his weapon, a gigantic blade covered with white bandages, overflowing with divine power. “Who do you think you are, you bastard?! You think you can say whatever you want to the Divine King of the Nine Heavens?!”
His aura emerged with tremendous power, surging like white clouds spreading across an endless blue horizon, gathering around his blade.
“The only real ruler was your sister, and we killed her. There will never be a proper replacement for her,” Hajun mocked Amaterasu. “It was quite clear when you killed her but never inherited her powers, right? You truly call yourself the Divine King of the Nine Heavens?! Heheh… HAHAHAHAHAHA!”
In that moment, Susanoo slowly started to realize that Hajun was never his friend, and perhaps not even his ally…
This bastard was just a demon who laughed and thrived on chaos.
“You… You damn bastard…!” Susanoo roared, gritting his teeth.
Hajun sighed as he quickly drank another bottle of sake and smiled.
“Why are you directing your rage against me? Isn’t it quite clear who you should be going after? The one who killed your friends? Don’t be more stupid than you already are, Susanoo…” Hajun smiled, licking his lips with his long demonic tongue. “Or do you actually want to fight me over pointless things? You really do?”
“…” Susanoo remained silent, glaring at the pearl, at Drake talking to himself while checking something he couldn’t see. “You’re right… I should go after him… I must avenge them, my brothers in arms…”
Susanoo contained his aura as he held his sword tightly and cut through space with a single, deadly swing, opening a portal to the closest area near Drake.
“I’ll kill that bastard!”
FLASH!
Hajun laughed, smiling viciously as he suddenly felt something within him trembling. He opened his mouth, revealing the spectral soul of Oda Nobunaga manifesting out of darkness.
“Hajun-sama! What have you done?! Why would you disrespect Susanoo-sama?!”
“Oda? I didn’t say anything. What are you talking about?”
“You provoked him to recklessly go against that dragon!”
“Did I now?”
Hajun smiled as he drank more sake.
