Chapter 2301: Oda Nobunaga’s Endless Castle [19]
—–
“Don’t worry, Root. We won’t let her touch you!” Alma said.
“Alma,” Root groaned. “I am pathetic. This woman completely counters my own abilities, my own self. What sort of Goddess is this? Her body and soul emanate brilliance and life. She was once a goddess of harvest, and now she corrupts the very essence of her existence!”
“The very essence of my existence? I simply do not serve anybody now! I do as I desire, and nobody can stop me now!”
Toyouke-Ōmikami laughed loudly, her familiars attacking the barrier constantly. The giant dragon slashed its claws against it, dealing the most damage.
“Callon, fire your cannons to distract those things! Hermes, imbue your spatial power into my sword!” Alma said.
“I will!” Callon said, opening his hands to reveal giant cannons, charging energy and firing beams of divine power, bombarding the beasts and the endless withered nature, burning through it as much as he could.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
At the same time, Hermes used his Spatial Magic, creating a veil of it and wrapping it around Knife in his sword form, maintaining its form.
“This is as much as I can do for now!” he said.
“Good enough!” Alma nodded.
She swung Knife down, and a gigantic slashing attack of Moonlight surged, splitting through the Withered Nature Dragon and blowing up most of the surroundings in the process.
Silence prevailed. For a moment, they believed this might have weakened her to some extent.
And yet.
“Fufufu, how wonderful.”
She emerged unscathed from the smoke. As she raised her hands, all the withered, burning plants merged into the same dragon.
“ROOOAAAARRRR!”
The beast opened its wooden jaws, firing a gigantic breath attack composed of purple and black flames, shattering the barrier and sending everyone flying with a massive explosion.
BOOOMMM!!!
.
.
.
“Where am I?”
Emerald’s eyes opened, and he found himself sitting on a soft wooden floor, surrounded by paper doors. His head hit the ceiling accidentally, causing it to break open.
“Ouch. Hm?”
As he looked around, he quickly felt a strange black miasma adhering to his feathers. He tried to brush it off, but it only became stickier and more annoying.
“What is this? Wait, where is everyone? Didn’t Drake manage to encapsulate everyone in his barrier?”
Emerald was confused. He could have sworn that Drake had protected everyone with his barrier, and yet he was separated from the rest.
“Maybe it’s just me and Amehia, Tyrannus and everyone else is safe? I hope so.”
Emerald sighed, looking around and trying to spread his Celestial Winds to survey the area. It worked, as he began to spread them rapidly throughout the surroundings.
The cursed miasma didn’t seem to affect the air itself, as the air was much lighter than the curse’s miasma. Therefore, Emerald wasn’t as bothered.
However, his body was constantly covered by this miasma, and that was irritating.
“Hey, where do you think we are?” Emerald wondered.
“Isn’t it obvious, dumbass? We’re inside that bearded human’s castle,” his Alter Ego said. “I think he trapped us inside and separated us to kill us one by one.”
“What?” Emerald gasped.
“Are you so stupid as to not think for a second that he would do this?” the Alter Ego asked. “I mean, he can control a whole dimension, as you can see now. Trapping everyone inside a world he controls makes complete sense to me.”
“I guess,” Emerald sighed. “Damn it, where’s everyone? I’ve already sent my winds over a kilometer, and nothing. How far are they all?”
“Probably an immense distance. The one who governs this dimension may have endlessly replicated these rooms, so you’re all isolated forever,” the Alter Ego said.
“And how will I even get back to everyone? Amehia too! I’m worried!” Emerald muttered, panicking for a moment. “Damn it! Everything was going so well. We were winning! All of us together.”
“That’s why that bastard did what he did! He knew that if we were all together, it wouldn’t be so easy anymore,” the Alter Ego said, scanning his surroundings. “Can’t you connect to the Draconic Records, teleport there, and then call Drake or the others through it?”
“I tried that already. This miasma just makes everything blurry and dense. Dimensional teleportation is impossible unless I become one with this curse,” Emerald sighed. “But I already have you and the chaos spirits. I doubt I can take more than that.”
“Hmm, there might be other ways,” the Alter Ego said. “But for now. Huh?”
“What?” Emerald quickly noticed something.
His Alter Ego fell silent, and after he asked “what?”, he did the same.
A presence had appeared out of nowhere.
He noticed because a shadow suddenly loomed over him.
He looked up, finding a figure, someone.
A person.
Or something similar to that.
“So you’re my prey this time? Indeed, you’re quite a beautiful bird. I wonder if I can make some fine clothes with your colorful feathers!”
“Prey? Who are you?” Emerald asked.
Emerald glanced at her, a giantess woman who seemed strangely human, but he was sure no human had such a huge stature.
She had a curvy and youthful body, with long pink hair and bright emerald eyes, along with a beautiful young face and an adorable smile.
Her hair was tied into two long ponytails, and she had a voluptuous chest. She confidently showcased her body by wearing clothes resembling both a Japanese kimono and belly dancer attire.
She held two large fans embedded with long, sharp blades in her hands, and she also wore a dancing, pink-colored, transparent scarf, Hagoromo, a divine garment worn by deities of Zipangu. It was both a decoration and a weapon.
“You’re asking who I am? Fufufu! Hahaha!”
The woman laughed, and Emerald quickly felt threatened. Her Aura surged, resembling pink winds spiraling around her, with pink flower petals flowing around her.
“Don’t let her touch you, dumbass!”
The Demonic Alter Ego quickly took control of Emerald, who was still confused, and moved him out of the way before a storm of petals could strike him.
BOOOM!
The petals eroded through the floor, destroying it and leaving a large hole.
“Hmmm. You’re quite agile! Are you the one I heard has a demon inside? How interesting.”
