Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy - Chapter 2810: Repeat

Chapter 2810: Repeat
Alex began gulping down all the Elixir he and Whisker had gathered throughout the past years. The old man was surprised to find just how much Elixir the two had managed to gather. There were barrels full of Elixir, and it was much thicker than what their sect sold.
Once he drank it all, he cultivated.
“You two managed to gather all of this since you came to Hell?” the old man asked Whisker.
Whisker shook his head. “Last two years. We didn’t know much about Elixir before that.” He had no reason to explain that part of what they had gathered had also been sent to the others living in Alex’s Soul Space.
The old man looked down at the Elixir. “It’s quite thick too. Did you guys not bother to boil away the remaining water?”
“What remaining water?” Whisker asked, a little confused.
The old man pointed at the barrels. “All of that still has a high water content, you know. If you continued heating it up for longer, you could make it thicker. Although, I suppose that’s just wasting time. This is fine anyway.”
Whisker frowned. “We don’t heat up Elixir,” he explained, going into surface-level details of how they refined Elixir.
The old man scratched his beard in thought as something came to him. “No wonder. You think that just because you put in water and got rid of it, all water content is gone. But you still retain the original water content. Truly pure Elixir is extremely viscous, like honey or tree sap. That does make it hard to eat, so keep it this way. It’s fine.”
Whisker nodded slowly.
It would take Alex a few weeks at least to cultivate fully, so the old man regularly went out and kept track of where Death had gone.
Death still roamed the desert mindlessly, now heading in a direction that would make her pass close to the border of the core region. Since there were rarely any villages in that direction, it was unlikely she would change her route anytime soon.
Whisker spent his nights at the bottom of Hell, gathering more sludge to make more Elixir for Alex. The more he had, the stronger he would become, allowing him to hopefully control Death long enough without dying.
Alex was halfway through his cultivation session when he heard news that Death had started another large battle against the beasts and would likely fight there for a while.
That allowed him to cultivate for longer should he want to. But Alex wasn’t of that mind. Every place that Death stopped to fight was a field of treasure for him. The amount of Blood Aura that place would contain was unimaginable.
He had to go there.
It took him two weeks to finally be done with absorbing everything that he had drunk. Somehow, he had surprised himself with his own speed. He wondered if the pills and the changed cultivation technique had that effect on the Elixir too.
After drinking all of the Elixir that Whisker had gathered for him over the past year or so, Alex had immediately improved his Body Cultivation from Immortal Spirit 3rd realm straight to Immortal Spirit 6th realm.
The improvement was so large that Alex surprised himself. Moreover, he was close to reaching the 7th realm too. If he just had a few more years to gather Elixir without concern for anyone else, his physical strength would’ve likely reached that of a new Divinity.
Alas, he didn’t have that sort of luxury.
He needed to get out of Hell, and his only ticket out was soon going to be hunted and probably killed.
The old man had already told Alex how they were going to do it too, so it was unlikely he was going to be able to stop them either.
The issue with fighting Death wasn’t that they had no weapons to deal with her. The main issue had been getting close to her. But now those people had a way to hide from Death’s perception.
If it really worked as Alex expected, Death wasn’t going to come out of that conflict alive.
Alex immediately flew over to where Death was, asking the old man to do the same as he had done last time.
Once again, Alex entered her Divine Sea and searched for any sign of… anything. Once again, he found nothing.
Alex didn’t want to search underneath the ocean, but he felt like he had to. Even if it killed him, he had to try, just to make sure that she was in there.
He dove into the ocean formed of Divine energy and found himself dying immediately. Once again, he tried to persevere, but it didn’t work. He died.
The next time Alex woke up, he pulled out a different sword he had prepared beforehand, getting ready to fight. That sword lasted for a single more attack than the last one, and that too because Death didn’t target it.
The sword was cleaved through as well, shattering into a dozen different shards of metal. Alex could do nothing except try to hold on to his dear life—not to try and survive, but to see how much of a trouble he would be for her to kill.
His intention was to be a cockroach that was not only hard to kill, but one that would come back again and again, draining her of all her energy in the end.
Once she was finally too tired to continue fighting, he would hopefully also drain her mentally, reducing the amount of liquid inside her Divine Sea.
Then, finding Death’s soul would hopefully pose no problem.
That, of course, was a faraway thought for now. As Death cleaved through his body again and again like a hot knife through butter, Alex realized just how far away he was from his plans becoming a reality.
At this rate, it would take him years before he was strong enough to survive just one of her mindless attacks.
