Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy - Chapter 2942 - 10 Pulses

Chapter 2942: 10 Pulses
The patriarch explained what was happening.
“This is the Purity testing slab. Drop some of your blood on this stone slab. It will test not just the purity of your blood, but also create a Soul Flame of yours that we can use to keep track of your life and death. Only after this tablet tells us of your bloodline do we officially accept you as one of the White Tigers.”
Pearl considered the patriarch’s words for a few seconds before turning to his grandfather. “Will something bad happen if I fail the test?”
Bai Jingshen laughed wryly. “You won’t fail the test. The issue is in the other direction.”
“Let us not waste more time,” the patriarch said. “Come on now.”
Bai Jingshen gave a small nod and Pearl did as he was told. He used his claw to cut his other paw and let the blood drip a few drops onto the stone slab, adding fresh blood to the layer of dried blood within the slab.
The stone slab came alive, droning with a noise like a thousand bees moving together. It vibrated at an incredibly fast frequency, light spilling out from within the blood-caked slab.
The image of the man became visible, its hands placed on the forehead of what appeared to be a tiger drawn from behind.
The man’s face had no features, but two glowing eyes appeared on its face suddenly. At the same time, something else appeared on the tiger’s forehead.
A single mark like a letter.
Pearl felt the connection to the slab at that same time, the blood in his body seemingly activating all at once as well.
His forehead burned as the mark came alive all on its own.
The mark of a king.
The patriarch gasped in shock. “His holy Sun God! It’s true. It’s really true.”
Pearl tried to control his mark, but for the moment, it wasn’t controllable. He controlled his breathing, trying to suppress his blood’s activation, but he failed. He wasn’t in control right now.
Bai Jingshen placed a limb on his back to calm him. “Let it happen. It is meant to.”
Pearl finally calmed down, letting go of all control.
And then, he felt the pulse from the slab. The pulse came out so strongly that Pearl felt his insides would rearrange themselves with its force, but it was not a physical force. It was merely something only he could sense.
It was his bloodline being smashed with an immaterial hammer.
And it wasn’t just him.
Bai Jingshen felt it, a hammer to his soul, like a rival made just for him.
The patriarch felt it too, like memories of his grandfather returning from a time that had all but disappeared from his mind.
And those were only the start.
The pulse went beyond the room, moving through each person within the entire White Tiger’s palace. Anyone who had the modicum of the White Tiger’s bloodline felt it in that moment. A sign of warning to those who saw it that way and a sign of hope to another.
Everyone who felt it knew in that moment that there had come a White Tiger that had a potential that matched their patriarch.
No, a potential that matched their Progenitor himself.
Most were in awe, but some were in confusion as well. For this was not the first time this had happened.
Just a millennia and a half ago, something similar had happened as well. The exact same thing. And no one had known just yet where it had come from. They had tried to find out, but they had failed to.
Now that it happened again, every single one of the White Tigers looked forward to figuring out the truth.
The pulse came again a second time, moving through the White Tigers at the same speed. Each White Tiger had now stopped doing whatever they were doing and waited in awe.
Then it came again.
And again.
And again.
The pulse came a total of 10 times before it finally stopped. The stone slab in the dark room had finally gone dark again, the light and colors no longer visible.
Pearl felt his bloodline go quiet as well, the mark on his forehead disappearing just as quickly as it had appeared.
He was left breathless, his fur moist with his sweat. He looked around at the two other tigers in the room, a look of amazement on the face of one and a look of knowing on the other one’s.
The patriarch slowly turned toward Bai Jingshen, his face still agape in shock.
“I… I am in awe,” the patriarch said. “I would’ve liked to meet this master of yours and understand why it is that he is able to create the blood of our progenitor.”
The pulse they had felt was no doubt just as strong as what would’ve been created had their progenitor been the one to use his blood.
Even without that, the mark of the King that had appeared on Pearl’s forehead was proof enough that he had the bloodline of the White Tiger.
The patriarch was told as much by Bai Jingshen, who himself had the same bloodline as well, but he had still chosen to test it, and was now full of shock.
“He visited here once, but most didn’t care,” Bai Jingshen said. “Although, to be fair, I did not know his strength myself.”
The patriarch sighed. He closed his eyes for a moment, his Divine sense spreading past the room in that moment, reaching to a location that Pearl could not sense.
“The Soulflame is ready. We are done here,” the patriarch said.
The world around them twisted in an instant and all three of them arrived back at the giant hall.
“I’m still worried, patriarch,” Bai Jingshen said, turning to the patriarch. “The entire city now knows about this. I would appreciate it if you were to come out openly and tell everyone that no one is allowed to go after him.”
The patriarch looked toward Bai Jingshen and shook his head.
“I’m afraid I cannot do that.”
