Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy - Chapter 2947: Three Techniques

Chapter 2947: Three Techniques
“The Palace Guards do get a chance to become an official White Tiger,” Bai Jingshen said. “Like everyone else, they get a chance to go through the ancestral pool too. If their bloodline is to then evolve to a point that is acceptable, they become an official White Tiger.”
“Oh! And what generation are they?” Pearl asked.
“You just trace back their bloodline and see who is the closest relative White Tiger,” Bai Jingshen said.
“Oh, ok. That makes sense,” Pearl said quickly. “What about the ones with a Creation instead?”
“No, those don’t count,” Bai Jingshen said. “They are capable of having offspring who are White Tigers, but they themselves are never officially considered one. They usually don’t have the required bloodline.”
Pearl narrowed his eyes with a curious thought. “What if one of them gives birth to a White Tiger, but they themselves don’t have any White Tigers in their family tree?”
Bai Jingshen smiled. “That’s not possible, at least within the context of the guards,” he said. “The guards are thoroughly vetted beforehand, their bloodline checked to make sure we know the closest ancestor. Even if we don’t, they can’t truly give birth to a White Tiger, so they have to marry one of the descendants of another White Tiger, and we can check the generations from there too.”
“Ah!” it finally made sense.
“Speaking of that, I came to talk to you about something important,” Bai Jingshen said. “I thought I might have time to take it slowly, but… it appears I might have to get things done hastily.”
Pearl narrowed his eyes. “Am I leaving for a trial soon?” he asked.
“About a few years from now,” Bai Jingshen said. “Hopefully enough time for you to reach the next realm.”
Pearl nodded. “I’m not that far away from breaking through. I should be able to enter the next realm before I leave for trial.”
Bai Jingshen nodded. “Since you’re going to break through soon, we need to talk about something very important. Your Creations.”
Pearl perked up. “Have you any thoughts on this, grandpa?” he asked. “I’ve tried thinking about what I want, but there are so many choices that I simply do not have any idea of what I want.”
“That’s great!” Bai Jingshen said.
Pearl was taken aback. “It is?”
“Yes, because I was worried you might’ve wasted your Origins with some weaker auras. But if you don’t know what you want, then I can just help you get the important ones.”
Pearl narrowed his eyes. “If your suggestions are good, then I’m up for it, grandpa.”
“Of course. But first, you can absorb two separate auras, right? You two confused me previously so I don’t know if you can,” Bai Jingshen said.
“Oh, yes we can. I can actually absorb four,” Pearl said.
“Four?” Bai Jingshen asked. “What do you mean four?”
“I have four Origins,” Pearl said.
Bai Jingshen paused for a long moment. “What? What do you mean?”
Pearl didn’t know what else to say. “I have four Origins.”
Bai Jingshen narrowed his eyes. “You mean you can absorb four auras?”
“Yes, into four Origins,” Pearl said.
Bai Jingshen frowned. “I don’t understand what you’re saying. The Provenance Duality technique I gave you guys should not have separate Origins.”
“Oh! Brother found another one and he mixed it with your technique. I believe the one you gave us was the Transformation technique, right? Brother found another Provenance Duality technique, one for Replication. He mixed the techniques into one and made it so that we can now have separate Origins instead. Whisker has 2. I have 4. Brother is better than all of us. He has 8.”
Bai Jingshen was far too young when he had met his master, so he knew not much about the world to be surprised or stunned by any information he received from the man. But he had long since matured and understood the world far better than he ever did.
As such, at every new piece of information he got from Alex, he knew exactly how impressive such a thing was and knew how surprised to be in this situation.
The Provenance Duality technique was something his master had given him randomly on one occasion. He remembered being told that it was one of three techniques that he had given away throughout the world.
The humans got one, the demons got another, and for the beasts, Bai Jingshen was given the last one. He never knew if his master had created those techniques or just happened to come across them, but none of that mattered in the end since his master himself knew how good those techniques were.
As such, the fact that Alex had gotten not just his technique, but had also managed to find another one and somehow mix those two into a separate, more powerful technique, was quite a stunning revelation.
Pearl allowed his great-grandfather to visit his Spiritual Sea so he may firsthand see what it meant to have four Origins.
Four white glowing orbs of light the size of a man hovered within Pearl’s Spiritual Sea. The light moved in a strange dance upon the surface of the orb, shadows appearing on them despite their constant illumination.
The light landed on Bai Jingshen’s face as well, moving like waves from a reflected pool of water.
“Incredible,” Bai Jingshen said. “Four Origins, not a single one of which has been weakened in any way despite the separation.”
Pearl nodded to his side. “They are each as powerful as a regular Origin. They need quite a bit of mental strength to separate them and as you can imagine, grandpa, they take a long time to feed as well. Now that I have done it, I won’t have to slow down as much as I have been.”
Bai Jingshen couldn’t help but agree. “The only thing slowing you down now will be the mere fact that you’ll somehow have to find the aura of the Creation you wish to absorb.”
“And thankfully, I have two of my own Creations that you can copy for yourself.”
