Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy - Chapter 3026: In the Sunrays

Chapter 3026: In the Sunrays
Upon returning to the White Tiger’s Palace, Alex and Pearl immediately went over to Bai Jingshen’s room in search of him.
His second wife, the Lioness Gu Xiaomo, opened the door. Her face grew bright the moment she saw them.
“Pearl, you’re back,” she said, immediately giving him a hug. “I heard about your grandmother. What a bitch!”
Pearl smiled lightly. “Is Grandpa around? We need him for something important,” he said.
“Oh, he’s away right now,” she said. “Why don’t you two come in and wait. It won’t be long.”
Alex accepted the request and went in. He sat around, watching the seven wives of Bai Jingshen try and quell any pain Pearl might’ve felt from his interaction with his grandmother back in the Azure Dragon’s Palace.
Alex could see Pearl getting happier by the second. While Pearl had said he didn’t care as much, it was clear that he did. The female dragon’s words had indeed wounded him deeply. But now, he was healing.
Alex watched for a short while before his smile paused. He had missed something while watching Pearl be happy.
“Wait, Senior Keixu, you’re here?” he asked.
The Snow Leopard turned toward Alex with a confused look. “Yes? Where else would I be?” she asked with a short laugh.
“Umm… in the library? With Brother Shen?” Alex said. “He said you would be helping him read?”
“Oh, I did help him. He’s found a few things,” she said.
“So… where is he right now?” he asked. “Is he not in the library anymore?”
“Oh, no. He was done with the library two days ago. He said he had some other task outside the Palace to scour the land after that. Something about finding somewhere to live? I didn’t understand it clearly.”
Alex realized what she meant and felt grateful. “I see. He must be out searching for a place where I can dump the beasts in my Soul Space,” he said. “Is it going to take him long?”
“To find the place?” Wen Meirin, the Puma, asked. “He’s already found it. He said he had nothing else to do, so he left for outer space.”
Alex paused for a long few seconds. “The Space?” he asked.
“Yes,” the Lynx answered. “He left to go out into the Space about a day and a half ago. He usually spends about two days up there, so he should be returning in a day, if he doesn’t take too long.”
Alex struggled to fully understand what was going on with Bai Jingshen at all. Why would the White Tiger decide to go to Space now of all times? His thoughts stopped when he grasped onto something else she had said.
“Sorry, did you say he does it often?” he asked.
“Often enough,” the Lynx answered. “Whenever he has the chance really. He can do it here too, but it’s better in outer Space since the strength of the sunrays isn’t diminished there.”
“Huh? The sunrays?” Alex asked.
“Oh,” Pearl said. “Is this about his Creation?”
“Creation?” Alex looked back at Pearl.
Pearl nodded. “Grandpa told me he has a Creation that needs him to be in the sun as long as he can,” he said. “Or wait, was it as long as he’s using the Creation? He didn’t explain properly. And he refuses to tell me what it is even, but he is really excited to pass it along to me.”
“Is this the one he said was a secret?” Alex asked.
“Yes, and it’s the only one I’m getting from him,” Pearl said. “He wanted to pass along the second one too, but I already have it myself, so he realized it’s better if I used my own.”
Alex looked with pure confusion.
“Use what?” he asked.
Pearl gave a simple look and answered, “My Blood Essence. It’s one of the things I’m turning into my Creation.”
“Oh right. You mentioned that before,” Alex said, remembering his talk with Pearl a month or so ago.
“Apparently,” Pearl said, “there’s a technique I can use to copy my own Blood Essence as my Creation.”
“And what does that do exactly?” Alex asked. “Do you replace used up Blood Essence?”
“Kind of,” Pearl said. “It can speed up the process of regaining any Blood Essence that is lost, but according to Grandpa, the main thing to do with it is to use it directly. Do you remember that time when I used it back in the Medicine World?”
How could Alex forget? Pearl’s strength back then had outshined his own. That day when Pearl had used his Blood Essence at the moment of utter despair, his strength would’ve been enough to defeat Alex too.
Such an increase of strength, even if momentarily, was very welcome.
Alex nodded with approval. “That’s a nice Creation to have. It’s a one-time use, but that’s enough since you’ll have other Creations for everything else.”
“Yes!” Pearl said with a bright smile. “That’s what Grandpa said too. The Blood Essence would be there for when I absolutely need it. But most of the time, I would be using the other technique.”
“That was of course before he knew I could make two more Creations. Hopefully my final Creation will be just as great.”
Alex nodded absentmindedly. “Do you know what his Creation is? The one he needs the sun for?” he asked.
Pearl shook his head. “He didn’t tell me. He says I’ll find out on my own when I form it. So, it might take some time.”
“I see.”
Alex wanted to continue along in the conversation, but was stopped when he heard a knock on the door. He waited for one of the servants in the room to open it and watched as Bai Fulin entered the room with a curious eye.
“Ah! There you are. I was wondering why you weren’t in your room,” she said, walking toward Alex and Pearl.
Alex raised an eyebrow. “Do you need us for something, Senior?” he asked.
Bai Fulin nodded. “The Patriarch wishes to see you two again. Now.”
