Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy - Chapter 3101 Alex's Sword Intent

Chapter 3101 Alex’s Sword Intent
Alex took off his earring to feel the direction in which Pearl was. The most he could get out of it right now was a general direction, and that was more than fine with him.
Pearl could easily handle himself for a couple of days, and even if he came across a fight where he was in danger, he could regain his physical strength and get out of it. Not to mention the teleportation artifact he carried around that he had received from his father’s corpse.
Once Alex learned of the direction, he took off immediately, flying at an extreme speed. The land was massive and would take him more than a few days to get around, especially because he was going to be challenged along the way.
Alex had no plans on stopping for most of the challenges. But given the number of challengers in this region, he would no doubt come across a few that he couldn’t ignore so easily.
Not that he had any intention of it either. He had a Sword Heart to form.
He saw many beasts along the way, most of them in their human form, but ignored them and continued. It was only when someone flew into the sky to meet him with exceptional speed that he finally stopped.
The newly arrived individual was a large man with a bald head. He wore a simple brown robe and stared at Alex with curious eyes.
“Where are you flying to in a hurry?” the man asked.
Alex stared at the man, trying to recognize his species by the aura he was giving off. He could see potent fire aura mixed with some wind and metal aura. That sadly wasn’t enough to recognize what type of beast he was.
He needed more.
Alex brought out his pitch-black sword, holding it tightly before him. The cheap artifact on his chest started vibrating as it recorded what was happening.
“Are we fighting?” he asked with no fear in his words. “If so, please attack me anytime.”
The beast looked surprised at Alex’s easygoing nature. Alex’s
cultivation base was in the Immortal Transcendent 1st realm, while he had already entered the Immortal Spirit realm.
“You must be in a hurry to lose,” the beast said, his fist slowly glowing with red aura.
Alex smiled. “Oh, believe me. I am in no hurry.”
The beast attacked, throwing punches at Alex that turned into giant balls of fire that came for him.
Alex held his sword, focusing on the attacks. His arm moved, the sword turning into flickers of dark color that stopped moving just as quickly as it started.
The incoming fireballs all vanished into nothing, as if they had never existed in the first place.
The beast froze mid-air, shocked by the events. What had happened? Where had his attacks gone?
Alex casually flicked his sword around, trying to get an understanding of what he was feeling.
The regular Sword Intent was the hardest for Alex to understand because it had no meaning in and of itself. To Alex, it was quite literally his intent to use the sword, so to understand it further, he needed to understand why he used a sword in the first place.
It wasn’t as if he hadn’t tried to learn other weapons. There was a time when he learned how to use whips. Another time, he had learned how to fight like beasts.
In the end, he always returned to using a sword.
Why?
The only reason he had ever used a sword in the first place was because that was what he had spawned with back when everything had been a game. Hell, he wasn’t even the one who had done that. It was his clone who had made the choice to stick to the sword, and somehow that had followed through to him.
The only real answer Alex could give in this scenario was that it was convenient. He had a sword around at all times, so that was why he had used it. Over time, he got good at it because he trained so much.
In the end, it really was convenient. Or more importantly, it was inconvenient to move on to other weapons or fighting styles. That was why he had stuck with the sword, and why he had improved with
it.
‘It matters not why I started using a sword or why I kept using it, Alex thought. ‘All that matters is how far I intend to go with it, and the
answer is all the way!
He was a genuine swordsman now, so there was no stopping him.
The beast seemed to come out of its stupor around the same time and quickly attacked Alex again. It moved to the side, leaving footprints made of fire in the air as it circled around Alex before punching with both hands at once.
Two sprouts of brilliant flames sprang out from its fists, twisting around each other as they became the same as a single beam of fire. Alex lifted his sword to the side, taking a deep breath. His sword glowed white as he poured his Sword Intent into the attack while at the same time gaining a deeper understanding of his own Intent. His Sword Intent was indeed a purely simple intent to use the sword. But it carried an individuality to it that could only belong to him. He needed to understand it.
He swung the sword, the incoming stream of fire disappearing in a
single strike.
If the beast had somehow considered the last one to be a fluke, it couldn’t do the same this time. It was clear that Alex had destroyed
his attack in a single swing.
It made no sense considering Alex’s cultivation base, but the truth was laid bare before him. He could only guess that Alex was somehow
hiding his cultivation base.
Alex looked at the shocked beast for a moment but ignored him
quickly, returning his attention to his sword and his Intent. As soon as
he could figure out more about this one, he could move on to his other two sword intents.
