Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy - Chapter 3173 Dead Pool

Chapter 3173 Dead Pool
Alex knew very well that he was getting ahead of himself with his current line of thought, and that the pool would likely continue to reveal its truth to him so long as he was patient. He had waited for this long, so a little longer wasn’t going to hurt.
Still, a part of him couldn’t help but wonder if this was really it. If the thing he had been doing all this time was all that was really needed to help a beast evolve. A pure bloodline was certainly one such
requirement, which he was more or less ready to prepare for Pearl
now.
He continued his surveillance on the blood inside the pool and carefully watched as the bloodline within it was flooding into the two beasts.
‘This isn’t a technique the beasts are using, Alex thought. ‘So how is this happening? How is the blood moving all on its own?’
Alex even used his Demon Eyes that could see through Time and Space aura, let alone the seven elements, and even then he saw nothing. Something beyond what his senses could recognize was happening here and he very well wanted to learn what that was.
As he continued watching, Alex noticed something that was just starting to happen. Black bloodline elements began drifting out of the beasts and spilling onto the blood.
Alex narrowed his eyes, his senses sharpening as he gave a great focus now that things were changing again.
The bloodline elements pooled around the beasts, and through the tiny pores on the beasts’ bodies, they entered. And through those same pores, they came out, dead. The dead elements slowly sank to the bottom of the pool while the alive ones remained up.
It became even more obvious now that his initial thought of how one’s bloodline was improved had been true. What he hadn’t expected,
however, was the fact that so much of these elements were dying all of a sudden.
“They don’t have much life aura, Alex thought with a frown. If the blood here was flooded with life aura, it would greatly enhance the rate of improvement for these beasts. Alas, the Black Tortoises had only just realized that, so it would take a while before they found a way to add that change to their ancestral pool.
These poor beasts would’ve evolved so much faster had that change been made.
‘Still, the last two beasts evolved in just 2 weeks, so maybe it is not that bad,’ Alex thought and continued to watch.
The dead bloodline elements that poured out of the beasts began to pile up at the bottom of the pool. As time went on, the amount of live bloodline elements was outnumbered by the ones that were dead.
In a way, the pool grew incredibly thin, thinner than even what a regular Saint beast would have. At that point, the effect the pool had on these beasts was close to none.
And the entire time, the beasts were in a trance, not even realizing what was happening to their bodies.
Alex switched his focus to the dead bloodline at the bottom of the pool, wondering what was going to happen next. Only half a day had passed and already the pool was useless.
The trickle of blood that came down the statue’s mouth was nowhere near enough to outperform the rate at which they died. At this point, the pool had become entirely unsuable.
As Alex wondered what was going to happen next, the tremor suddenly stopped. The two types of blood that had separated to flow toward the respective beasts mixed back together, becoming a common pool just like it was at the start.
Only, the pool being mixed no longer mattered, since the bloodline elements that made the two blood separate were all completely gone.
Just as Alex was beginning to wonder what was going to happen next, he noticed some changes at the bottom of the pool. Four giant holes appeared where before it was just solid ground, and the blood began draining out of them.
Blood drained out through the holes, disappearing somewhere that Alex’s senses could not follow. They were being pushed away by something strong.
He tried to go further in, and even managed to notice some sort of pipeline system that took the blood away from the pool, but as to where exactly, he couldn’t see. Since the pool rejected his senses, he didn’t want to force any more than he had to.
The pool drained in no more than three minutes, revealing a meter-deep surface that was barely covered in a thin layer of blood that still trickled down the statues.
The beasts slowly stirred awake, coming out of their trance. They appeared surprised, but not that surprised. It was obvious to Alex that they were told this would happen.
They would enter a trance and they would break out of it some time later. All they had to do was continue cultivating no matter the
changes, and so they did.
Not a few more seconds passed and Alex’s ears perked up as he heard
the sound of liquid splashing on the pool floor at a faster rate. He turned and saw the trickle of the blood that came out of the statue’s mouth turn into a small stream.
That continued to grow bit by bit as the stream turned into a gush, blood pumping out of the statue as if there had been multiple arteries inside of its mouth and it had managed to pop every single one of
them.
At the speed the blood pumped out of the beasts, it would take no longer than 10 minutes for the entire pool to be filled. Of course, that would be useless if the blood being poured was no different from
what was drained.
Which it wasn’t.
This blood was different. No dead bloodline elements were present in
the blood pouring out of both of the statues’ mouths at all, and it was
filled with only live ones.
And to Alex’s surprise, that was not the only change at all.
“The blood, he thought. ‘It’s thicker!
