Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy - Chapter 3381 Proof and Payment

Chapter 3381 Proof and Payment
The Azure Dragon patriarch and the other two Celestials stood to the side in a room while Alex worked on a young blue snake in the Saint realm, helping improve his bloodline.
The three dragons watched with looks of awe at how easily Alex was helping the beast improve its bloodline.
Just a few hours earlier, when the young snake was chosen to be the subject of their little experiment, not a single one of these Celestials would have dared to say that this snake was in any way related to the Azure Dragons.
Its bloodline was just that weak.
And now, in just a matter of hours, the Azure Dragon bloodline within the snake had grown to a point where it was comparable to many of the weaker bloodlines within the family that had to undergo the evolution process.
At this stage, they were certain he would even pass.
Alex stopped after three total sessions.
“This should be enough,” Alex said, stepping back. “Cultivate for a few days more and then prepare to enter the Ancestral Bloodline Pool to trigger your evolution.”
The snake slowly opened its eyes, a look of pure awe visible on its face. “This is really me?” he asked, unable to believe his own senses.
Alex smiled. “You can leave now.”
The snake gave a deep bow along with a short but sincere thanks, and left the room.
Once the snake was gone, Alex turned toward the Celestials.
“Well, that should be enough as proof, right?” he asked. “I have everything you need to understand recorded here.”
He handed over a talisman to the patriarch.
The patriarch took the talisman and nodded. “I hadn’t imagined this to be real, but it is,” he said. “With this, we can improve the bloodlines of every struggling beast and help them evolve, can’t we?”
“Yes,” Alex said. “And you can also improve the bloodline of Azure Dragons themselves. It probably won’t work for you Celestials, or even Divinities, but Immortals should have an easier time improving their bloodline to… say, third generation. Maybe more too, but that would require a lot of blood.”
The Azure Dragons nodded.
“We will have to establish new systems, shouldn’t we?” the Celestial Guanming asked his patriarch. “Not just anyone should be able to make use of this.”
Tianyan nodded. “This information itself should be kept secret too. If someone were to find out how it works, there might be a rift in the palace.”
The patriarch agreed. “We’ll discuss this further with the other ancestors and decide how to go about it. We can’t make any mistake on something this important.”
Once they decided as much, the patriarch turned toward Alex and handed over a storage bag.
Alex took the storage bag with an excited look and glanced inside. Within the bag were several dragon scales, as he had expected, all neatly lined up and stacked over each other.
There were three separate piles of dragon scales, which Alex could tell were based on the quality of the scales.
The Azure Dragon patriarch gave an explanation before Alex had to ask.
“There are 6000 Saint-grade dragon scales, meaning they came from Azure Dragons with Saint realm cultivation bases,” he explained.
“Similarly, there are 1200 Immortal-grade dragon scales. And finally, 250 Divine-grade dragon scales.”
Alex nodded, his senses lingering on the stacks of dragon scales. He could feel a strange spatial aura coming from the scales, one he could likely use to create many spatial artifacts.
Alex wondered what sort of artifacts he should create.
“Thank you,” he said, looking back at the Celestials.
The three Azure Dragons smiled. “Don’t thank us just yet.”
Alex raised an eyebrow in confusion.
The patriarch suddenly reached up to his shoulder and pried off one
of his own scales.
“Unlike regular reptiles, we don’t shed our skins,” he explained.
“Instead, we change our scales.”
One of the scales on his shoulder came loose, which he slowly moved
until it fell out on its own, landing before Alex with a loud thud.
The single dragon scale was massive, nearly the size of Alex, and from
the sound it made, it was evident that it was heavy as well.
“Do they all come loose?” Alex asked as he looked back at the
patriarch.
“Yes, but not all at once,” he explained. “It’s one at a time, which takes longer and longer the higher your cultivation is. The last time I shed a
scale was most likely a few millennia ago.”
“Same here,” Guanming said, prying out a scale from his neck. It too landed before Alex with a loud thud.
Tianyan, however, didn’t have to make such a show and simply pulled a scale out from her Soul Space.
“Here. Unlike these two, I have no need to do it in front of someone else.”
Alex blinked in surprise at the three Celestial-grade dragon scales he was given. He truly hadn’t expected them to give him any scales
higher than Divine grade.
“Thank you,” he said again, sincerity evident in his voice.
The three watched as Alex put away the scales, at which point there
was nothing else left to be done.
“Do you mind if we ask you something?” Tianyan asked just then.
Alex looked up and nodded. “Please, go ahead.”
“You guys mentioned something about temporarily bringing someone back alive. Is that true?” she asked.
Alex showed no change in expression as he answered her.
“Well, it depends on what you count as being alive,” Alex said. “What I
was able to do with Pearl’s father is more of a puppet situation. I put the remnants of his spiritual aura into a body.”
The Azure Dragon patriarch frowned. “That sounds like a demonic art.
A desecration of life and death.”
“In a way, you might not be wrong,” Alex said. “Which is why, if you have lost someone, please do not rely on me to bring them back. Because it will never truly be them at all.”
