Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy - Chapter 3439: Surprise and Frustration

Chapter 3439: Surprise and Frustration
A few minutes of conversation later, Bladedance made her way toward the World Tree.
She could see the tree grow much larger since she had last seen it, which she hadn’t expected. Much less, she hadn’t even considered the fact that the World Tree could have a spirit inside of it, and that the spirit was capable of communicating with others.
According to Alex, it frequently communicated with Whisker inside of here.
Upon arriving close to the World Tree, Bladedance could feel the energy surrounding the tree attempting to draw from her body, trying to see if it could consume her.
However, it quickly stopped. Alex had said he would talk to the tree, and it appeared that he had.
“What does it say?” Bladedance asked.
“Nothing in particular,” Alex explained. “She stopped once I told her you were a friend of mine.”
“She?” Bladedance asked.
“Yes. She has a feminine voice and considered herself a female as well,” Alex said. “The three Demonic Trees refer to each other as sisters as well. That’s what the Tree of Life did back in Hell, and what the World Tree does here.”
“I see,” Bladedance said, finding it hard to believe that a tree that was incapable of reaching the Immortal realm, and thus becoming a human, had a gender it assigned to itself.
She stared at the tree for a while, some thoughts going across her mind. She wondered if the other tree had a spirit within it as well. How did it feel when it was cut down? She had always considered the thought that had been going across the Demons that threw themselves to the humans’ blades to defend the tree, but she had never considered anything about the tree itself.
What was the last thing the World Tree thought when it was being cut down?
Her thoughts were pulled away when she noticed a few people looking up at her from near the tree. She slowly went down and met the two older humans as well as the two beasts that had been there this whole time.
She didn’t see the mouse, but he could be anywhere. She had no way of knowing his location without using her Divine Sense.
She greeted the few and her eyes landed on Pearl.
“Oh, did you succeed?” she asked without much change in her expression. “Congratulations on gaining your Azure Dragon’s bloodline.”
Pearl smiled. “Thank you, senior.”
“I would’ve assumed you would’ve looked closer to a qilin after evolving, but I guess you got lucky,” she said.
Pearl gave a small smile.
“Those stripes aren’t from his evolution, master,” Alex explained quickly.
Bladedance paused. “Huh? Then what are they from?”
“Pearl, tell her.”
Pearl was happy to. “My current change is a result of me fully Transcending one of my Origins using a beast core as my Creation,” he explained.
“Oh,” Bladedance said, before narrowing her eyes. “What beast?”
Pearl smiled. “The Flying Raindragon,” he said with the proudest voice he had.
Bladedance’s thoughts froze to a sudden halt as she couldn’t begin to process what she was just told. “The Beast core of what?”
“The Primordial,” Pearl said. “The Flying Raindragon. After I completely absorbed his Beast Core, I gained these stripes.”
Bladedance remained silent for a while, her mouth wide open. “Are you kidding me?” she asked in the end, unable to believe what she was hearing.
“That’s not all, master,” Alex said with a light giggle in his voice. “Look at Scarlet. Have you seen a Vermilion Bird with black feathers before?”
“No…” she said in a meek voice. “Did she do something too?”
“The Midnight Phoenix,” Alex said. “She used its beast core.”
Bladedance looked at the two beasts, her eyes moving from one to the other. They had used the beast cores of a Primordial? How the hell had they even found them to begin with?
“Ray helped us get them,” Alex explained. “They were buried in the place where the two Primordials had sacrificed themselves.”
“And their cores remained?” Bladedance asked.
“Yes. Only their bodies were sacrificed, so we managed to get the two,” Alex explained. “Speaking of which, Whisker has another one too, belonging to the Nine-tailed Fox.”
“Huh?” Bladedance held a very confused expression. She at least understood where the other two beasts came from as Alex had mentioned them being there. But she hadn’t the tiniest hint as to how the Nine-Tailed Fox was involved in everything. “How did you get that one?”
“I don’t know either,” Alex explained. “It’s something I got from the place I was at after leaving the Void. The place we think of is the Realm-within-Realms.”
Bladedance narrowed her eyes. “You found the Nine-Tailed Fox’s beast core from the Realm-within-Realms? How does that make sense?”
“I don’t know, but it’s where I got it.”
“But it really doesn’t make sense. Hundreds of people have been to that place in the past. How come you were the lucky one to find the beast core?” she asked.
“Master, I really don’t have an answer,” Alex said. “But Ray has confirmed that it is that.”
Bladedance frowned. “Fine, I guess you’re just that lucky. Hopefully you’re putting in work just as good as your luck is.”
“I’m doing my best, master,” Alex said.
Bladedance nodded. “Don’t slack just because you are talented or lucky. Despite all that, you still need to put in effort. You have to at least form a Sword Heart before you even think of slacking off.”
“Umm… about that.”
Bladedance froze. “No… don’t tell me…”
“A decade and a half ago, master,” Alex said. “I’ve already formed my Sword Heart.”
As if to prove it, Alex created a domain of Sword Qi near Bladedance, keeping it active for a while for her to examine it.
Even without her Divine Sense, she had seen Sword Hearts enough to know that this was definitely it. She had a talent for swords, but that wasn’t nearly this.
“Why don’t you just go and learn Dao Sword too at this point?” she said in frustration.
“I will, master,” Alex said. “In fact, I’m already starting to.”
