Chapter 3456: God and Energy

There were apparently no Children of Heaven in the Demon realms. The book stated that it was most likely to be the case because all the demons had one singular god they believed in.

There were some Children of Heaven throughout recorded history in the Beast realms too, but those had appeared and disappeared quite frequently. The only place to have a lot of Children of Heaven was the human realms. However, those too had mostly vanished as human gods drew in those who would’ve otherwise devoted themselves to these other entities.

Alex wondered about the Pillheaven continent and how the people there still prayed to the Hand of the Gods. If that were to ever stop, would Rosemist cease to exist? It was a worrisome thought.

’I wonder how different a Half-God is from a Child of Heaven,’ Alex wondered. The first person to ever tell him about the Half-Gods was Rosemist. He hadn’t understood what a Half-God was back then, but she had alluded to the fact that Half-Gods were similar to what she was, and he could see why now.

A Child of Heaven could do the same thing a Half-God could as well. While they both ended up where they were through different avenues, the end result was the same, wasn’t it?

’No, there has to be some difference,’ Alex thought. ’Did Rosemist have an element?’

He couldn’t remember. If she was a god formed of people’s prayers to the Hand of the Gods, then she could be an Earth-element god. Or because the mountain range was covered in mist, she could also be a Water-element god. However, if Alex had to bet on anything, he would bet on the fact that Rosemist had no specific element she was a god of and was more so a god of everything.

’That would place her closer to the actual True Gods as their energy held no elemental aura,’ Alex thought. He was beginning to wonder if Rosemist could be considered stronger than a Half-God.

The book claimed all Half-Gods to require a cultivation base in the Celestial realm before they could become one. But a Child of Heaven started at the Celestial realm without ever having to cultivate.

Alex wasn’t sure if that was true or not. At the very least, he could have never guessed Rosemist was that strong. But remembering the way the two Divine realm cultivators treated her, it was clear that she was.

The book talked about the Children of Heaven some more, but it couldn’t explain why they existed. It was very certain that both Half-Gods and Children of Heaven were a product of people’s prayers and reverence to the specific god, but nowhere could it explain why prayers and reverence could make them a god.

Especially in the case of a Child of Heaven, it couldn’t even explain how one even came into existence since it was something that existed out of nowhere.

’Are they really like the Sun God and the Moon Goddess though?’ Alex wondered. ’Could a Child of Heaven truly be called a True God?’

Alex didn’t think there was a difference in terms of what they were capable of, but rather a difference in terms of the sheer capacity they held.

He wasn’t sure how much energy a Half-God could hold, but nowhere could it be close enough to what the True Gods held.

The True Gods had used their powers to help the singular planet that existed in the past, undertaking a monumental task in doing so, expending an amount of energy that could only be considered absurd.

That was the action that had led to the world tearing itself apart into various realms, and the leftover energy was what they had used to form Heaven.

In a way, they had used a fraction of their energy to create Heaven, and Heaven was easily many times stronger than even the strongest Half-God.

In that case, Alex couldn’t see how Rosemist could even be considered to be on the same tier. The amount of energy she had gained by people praying to her had to be high, but it certainly couldn’t be at the level of a True God.

As Alex thought about it, he remembered a certain something about the Sun God that was so counterintuitive to everything he knew about that he rarely considered this when considering everything.

It was the fact that the Sun God didn’t have energy. The Sun God was the energy. That was what the god had told him.

Alex’s eyes narrowed as he reached a conclusion he hadn’t until now.

’Were the two gods also like Rosemist? Did they form because people prayed to them?’ Alex thought. He couldn’t tell if that was possible or not, especially because the two gods had other forms beforehand.

It certainly sounded like a possibility, but he would need some confirmation.

But, given what the Sun God had told him, it was most likely true.

’Rosemist said she is similar to a spirit as well in that she came into existence out of nowhere. What if she is also just energy, like the True Gods were?’

Alex felt at his dantian, feeling the energy that came from others’ prayers to him. If he wasn’t here, would this energy take shape to become the Sun God?

’Are all True Gods and Children of Heaven also just energy that gained sentience to form a spirit?’ Alex thought. As soon as his mind went there, he frowned.

’No, wait. What if I’m thinking about it all wrong?’

He gathered his thoughts, changing his point of view on the topic.

’What if… any sufficiently strong gathering of energy forms a spirit on its own?’ Alex thought.

That could explain why the gods came to life.

’Is that true for all?’ Alex wondered.

Other spirits he knew about were Artifact Spirits, and they certainly formed when artifacts were refined with a lot of energy.

Transposing the theory onto alchemy, would a sufficiently energy-dense pill also form a spirit?

Alex’s eyes widened slightly.

’Wait a second. Isn’t that Pill Souls?’
