Capítulo 2593: Chapter 1429: Resolve and Method
Drip, drip, drip.
Muddy drops of water from the filthy walls fell onto a fair, delicate face, the cool sensation prompting her to slowly open her eyes. Her unique slitted pupils were first filled with confusion, but quickly changed to caution and tension as she began to strain her body to survey her surroundings.
She was none other than Dana.
Although she had lost almost all of her dragon clan traits, making Dana look indistinguishable from the human clan, in the darkness, she still displayed the dragon clan’s superb night vision pupils, allowing her to better observe the surrounding conditions.
The flickering candlelight not far away cast the outlines of rows of metal bars, sinking Dana’s heart rapidly to the bottom, enveloping her in a chilling aura.
For she found herself imprisoned alone in a dark, ancient dungeon where the air was filled with a pungent smell of blood and decay, almost enough to induce vomiting.
Understanding her situation roughly, this young queen did not show panic, instead she stabilized her mind as much as possible, beginning to recall the last images she remembered.
It was dawn with dew hanging on leaves, even the orioles were curled up in their nests yet to awaken as she and Davis finished inspecting the last secret agent station, returning on the road to the Forest-side Fortress.
But just as she flew out not far, she felt dizzy, the energy within her body completely stalled, and then she fainted.
“Was it really an ambush? I was too reckless.”
Dana rubbed her still dizzy head, quickly understanding the whole story.
“Right, what about my brother? What about the other soldiers of the Imperial Guards?”
A surge of anxiety appeared on her fair features as she began looking around once more.
On the other side of the dim candlelight, a crooked human-shaped silhouette appeared there.
The figure was shackled to the dungeon’s wall, utterly motionless.
“Nate? How are you?”
Dana’s slitted pupils widened, quickly recognizing the silhouette as one of her outstanding subordinates, a brave and loyal Personal Guard Captain.
But no matter how urgently Dana’s voice echoed in the dungeon, that silhouette remained unmoving, even its wing membrane drooped to the ground, evidently ripped apart completely.
“Hahaha, so that guy’s name is Nate? Truly a tough nut to crack. I merely wanted to ask for some information about that Otherworldly Lord, but he hasn’t uttered a single word.”
A sudden eerie voice sounded from the side of Dana’s cell, causing the latter to instantly tense, instinctively turning her head, a stranger’s robust form oozing hostility had already appeared in her view.
Dana could confirm that there was no one there earlier.
“Who are you?”
Dana’s starry eyes fixed on the figure, attempting to stand up but felt an immense weight at her feet, causing her to helplessly sit down again.
Only then did Dana discover her ankles shackled by heavy chains engraved with strange runes, her internal energy inexplicably drained, unable to be mobilized at all.
“Those are Energy Drain Chains, crafted from extremely rare high-grade meteorites, supplemented with special forbidden runes, supposedly created by a fallen dwarf clan specifically to control opposing members of the Elf Tribe. These are products from first-class forces, the effects evident beyond doubt.”
A callous, mocking voice sounded, as the stranger’s robust figure looked down at Dana, sneering coldly: “Well, how’s it feel, Your Majesty the Queen? Unexpectedly finding yourself in captivity after recovering from a major illness? How’s that feeling of rebirth and then falling into the abyss?”
“Stop your pointless prattle, your words will have no effect. I won’t reveal anything about Your Majesty of the Humans.”
Dana faced the dark abyss within the deep gray hood shrouding the stranger without fear. Though she couldn’t see his deliberately concealed face, she could clearly feel a pair of sinister, terrifying eyes staring into her.
“Indeed, those with dragon clan blood possess strong resistance to spiritual attacks, and physical tricks can’t pry open your mouths easily either.”
The hostile, robust figure glanced at Nate’s mutilated body hanging on the wall, then looked back at Dana, chuckling maliciously: “And what about your brother?”
“You bastard, what did you do to my brother?”
Dana gritted her silver teeth, questioning fiercely.
“Want to know the specifics?”
The robust figure’s voice took on an eerie slyness again, “Maybe if you were to share some information about that Otherworldly Lord with me, I might fulfill your request.”
“You dream on! Your Majesty of the Humans is not someone a lowlife like you could ever touch!”
Without any hesitation, Dana scoffed coldly: “I carry the noble royal family bloodline within me, never will I yield to one as disgraceful as you. My brother wouldn’t bow to you either!”
“Seems neither the Winged Prince nor you can be coerced easily. You really think that little dragon blood makes you like one of the proud and arrogant dragon clan?”
The robust figure’s voice grew markedly colder, dismissively mocking, “Well then, based on the information I have, you’re merely pawns for the Otherworldly Lord, unlikely to hold any core information.”
“You can’t drive a wedge between us and Your Majesty of the Humans, that figure’s grandeur is simply beyond your imagination!”
