Chapter 227: Chapter 227: Secure Aiden’s Safety. Prepare to Depart!
“My Lord, what’s wrong?” Robert saw the scene and immediately grew tense.
The sword didn’t hesitate for a second. It stated, “It’s the Dawn Society. Those lunatics have sensed my presence and are now running for their lives.”
“I’m going out.”
In the blink of an eye, the sword vanished.
Right above the Elephant Empire Palace, a phantom giant sword as massive as a mountain rapidly formed.
In a corner of the palace, a figure in a white dress and black suit was speaking at a lightning-fast pace:
“We’re done for, Lily. We’re going to die here.”
“Shut up!” Jester Lily was not in the mood for jokes.
She never thought she would see Bella, humanity’s strongest divine powerhouse, manifesting her Radiant Blade form right in the heart of the Elephant Empire capital.
Before this mission, she had analyzed the situation carefully. She was sure Bella’s Radiant Blade avatar was currently at the front lines, facing off against the Abyss Demon God.
Something must have gone wrong to cause such an unexpected twist.
“I can’t take it anymore!” Gary wailed. “Last time in the Great Shaw Empire, there was an Arthur that made us fail the mission. Now, we’ve run into something way worse than him!”
“Damn it, Gary, can you stop crying? The more you cry, the worse our luck gets!”
Lily stopped in her tracks and looked up at the giant sword phantom looming in the sky.
She had already given up on struggling.
Even though it was just a Radiant Blade avatar of Bella, it was enough to make her feel completely hopeless.
“But I didn’t mean to,” Gary sobbed, his voice trembling. “Lily, why are we so unlucky?”
In the next instant, the tip of the giant sword phantom in the sky pointed straight at them.
Suddenly, an invisible pressure erupted around the shared body of Gary and Lily. Their bones creaked under the strain, and their legs buckled uncontrollably as they fell to their knees.
Yet, even with this immense pressure crushing them, the grass around them remained untouched. A gentle breeze swept by, and the blades of grass swayed lightly as if nothing had happened.
This was the true strength of Bella!
Gary and Lily gritted their teeth, holding on for dear life, and shouted, “Wait! We have no evil intentions!”
“My Lord,” Lily spoke rapidly, desperate not to die, “we were just following orders. We haven’t hurt a single human.”
When they faced Arthur, they had dared to try something. But against Bella, even a single avatar was too much; they didn’t even dare to think about resisting.
The giant sword phantom vanished instantly. In its place, the ordinary-looking sword that had appeared before Aiden suddenly materialized right in front of Gary and Lily.
The crushing pressure vanished immediately.
Still, neither of them dared to stand up or even lift their heads.
“Why didn’t you just call for your Dawn Society’s divine powerhouse to come help?” the Radiant Blade asked, its voice calm as it swayed slightly.
A bitter smile tugged at the corners of Lily’s mouth as she replied slowly, “With you here, even if divine powerhouses arrived to help, unless they were Greater divine Rank experts, the two of us would definitely die right here.”
“The high-ranking races from the Abyss haven’t woken up on a large scale yet. Even if they did, they wouldn’t be at their peak strength, and they’d stand no chance against you.”
Lily knew the truth deep down. Sure, she could call for Orrin, a divine powerhouse from the Dawn Society, to help them.
But Orrin hadn’t fully recovered his strength yet. Right now, he could only muster power slightly stronger than an Intermediate divine Rank expert.
There were clear levels among divine powerhouses: lesser god, Intermediate divine, Greater God, and Supreme God—the level that allows a race to evolve into a King rank species.
According to Dawn Society records, Bella’s strength had matched that of a Greater God long ago. So, even facing just Bella’s Radiant Blade avatar, Lily didn’t dare to think about resisting again.
“My Lord,” Lily said, her voice trembling as she spoke cautiously, “although the Dawn Society’s ideals differ from humans, what we are doing is to prepare for ’It’ that will soon appear.”
“We all know ’It’ is the biggest threat. It is the darkness all races must face,” she added.
The Radiant Blade slowly descended. Lily and Gary’s bodies couldn’t help but shake violently.
In the next moment, they heard the Radiant Blade’s voice.
“If you don’t want to die, come with me to the front lines and help me with a few tasks. Then, I’ll let you go.”
Without a second of hesitation, Gary and Lily nodded frantically, shouting, “Yes! Absolutely yes! You are the strongest human in existence, and your word is final!”
Vroom!
The Radiant Blade vibrated sharply.
A blade of white light shot straight into Gary and Lily’s bodies.
Then, the Radiant Blade spoke again. “Go to the front lines and find my student, Selene. She’ll tell you exactly what to do.”
“Of course, you can try to run away instead.”
Gary and Lily shook their heads wildly. They could feel the white sword energy inside them beginning to stir. They knew that if Bella so much as thought it, it would explode instantly.
There would be no way for either of them to survive.
“Alright, go now,” the Radiant Blade said, vanishing in an instant.
It took a long time before Gary and Lily dared to look up. Their legs were too weak to support them, so they collapsed onto the floor, panting heavily.
…
In Robert’s room, the Radiant Blade appeared once more.
“Keep a close eye on Aiden. Make sure he is safe. Once things settle down a bit, I’ll come back for him,” the Radiant Blade said quickly.
Hearing this, Robert’s eyes went wide. He had thought Bella assigning him to help investigate Aiden was already a sign of how important Aiden was.
“Could it be because of Wraith Jack?” The thought flashed through Robert’s mind.
He took a deep breath and hurried to speak. “Lord, Aiden’s information is almost…”
Before he could finish, the Radiant Blade moved slightly and cut him off. “There isn’t enough time. The Demon God of the Demon Clan isn’t stupid. If he realizes I’m not on the front lines, he’ll do something.”
“Remember, you must ensure Aiden’s safety.”
Robert couldn’t help but ask, “But the tournament between those human prodigies and the Demon prodigies is tomorrow. What if something goes wrong? Can I intervene?”
Right now, the front lines were packed with both human and Demon strongmen.
The global Reclasser exchange tournament had shifted from a competition among humans to a battle between human and Demon geniuses.
The situation wasn’t that simple. Behind this tournament lay many hidden affairs, some of which weren’t even within Robert’s right to know.
“Just remember this: among all the competitors, Aiden is the most important.”
“If you need to step in, go ahead. I’ll handle the rest,” the Radiant Blade said quickly.
Wraith Jack was truly unique.
So unique that even when she, Bella, had tried to find it, she was turned away.
Not only that, had she not left that villa in time, she likely would have died there.
That was why Bella valued Aiden so much. Based on what Aiden had described, he was the only one who could still see Wraith Jack.
Soon, the Radiant Blade shot into the sky.
Robert stood by the window, took a deep breath, and prepared to lead the prodigy team out.
Moments later, twenty teams from different countries, totaling 139 talented Reclassers, gathered in the square in front of the hotel.
Among the twenty teams, only the squad from Insect Valley had no reserve players.
Robert looked at all those young faces and couldn’t help but ask, “Are you truly ready for this?”
“At our fastest speed, we’ll reach the front lines by early morning. By 8 a.m., the final match will officially begin.”
“If anyone wants to quit now, it’s still too late. Once we set off, there’s no turning back.”
Immediately, a contestant shouted, “Quit? I’ve already written my last will and testament!”
“Lord, I’m not afraid of death. I’m only afraid that that Demon leader who slaughtered that pregnant woman is still alive and will continue to slaughter humans!”
More and more contestants joined in the chant: “I’m scared that my parents, my family, and my friends will suffer the same fate as that pregnant woman!”
“That’s right! Yes, I’m scared, but I won’t retreat!”
“Absolutely true! I may not be from the Elephant Empire, but as a normal human, I cannot stand by and do nothing!”
“Speak up! Besides, do you really think our strength won’t be enough to beat those Demon prodigies?”
“Brothers, who cares about points or scores? None of us do. The only thing that matters is who hunts the most Demons and earns the right to be champion!”
Aiden stood in the crowd, listening to the young, eager voices buzzing with passion. He turned his head to look around at everyone.
Victor, standing right next to him, raised his fist and roared, “Kill those Demon prodigies!”
“Kill those beasts!”
More and more people joined in the chant.
Even though it was night, the light from the moon and stars shimmering on the faces of these young Reclassers made Robert feel strangely dazzled.
He blinked a few times, nodded, and then called out firmly, “Everyone, prepare to move out!”
Just then, a staff member ran up quickly and whispered a few words into Robert’s ear.
Robert hesitated, thought for a moment, and then nodded slowly.
The staff member rushed away immediately.
Robert then turned his gaze toward the distant street and shouted, “Everyone, turn around!”
