Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress - Chapter 208: Reanimation

Chapter 208: Reanimation
Liora’s finger whistled through the air, leaving flying drops of blood along its way.
But surprisingly, these drops of blood defied gravity and did not fall to the ground.
Instead, they squirmed and merged, transforming into a series of bright Devil Runes.
When the final stroke landed, a beast-shaped cluster of Devil Runes had formed in front of Liora.
The cluster looked extremely similar to the Chimera that Liora had once met, except that it was many times larger and far more powerful.
Its aura had reached the King of Knights rank. Coupled with its bizarre abilities, it would bring a great threat to even the most powerful King of Knight.
But Liora did not stop just yet.
The movements of her right hand continued, outlining one beast after another in the air.
The speed at which her hand moved was incredible. In just the blink of an eye, hundreds of King of Knights beasts had materialized in front of her.
As if she felt that this was enough, Liora stopped “painting”.
She bit one more time on her fingertip and waved her hand, scattering blood droplets all over the sky.
When the blood landed on the beasts like falling rain, something strange occurred.
The Devil Runes were activated and lit up before turning into flesh, blood, and bones.
As they all wriggled together, more than a hundred beasts soon took form in front of Liora.
They looked extremely realistic, and if it were not for the previous scene, no one would have believed that each of them was but a cluster of shining runes.
Feeling her connection with these beasts and sensing the rapidly rising aura of the Founding Emperor, Liora did not hold back.
She immediately waved her hand and spoke up:
“Go!”
The moment her words fell, the mouths of the beasts opened in unison.
Some let out thunderous growls, others shrill cries, while others simply let out deafening roars.
The next second, the beasts moved.
Seemingly mirroring the scene of the earlier beast riot, they all rushed towards the Founding Emperor.
It was just that now, the scene looked more terrifying.
Though they were fewer overall, all of these beasts possessed an oppressive aura, while their frames were overwhelming, like a pack of giants.
Before the Founding Emperor could launch his attack, a Chimera had appeared beside him. Its leg struck the ground, and countless earth spikes grew out, rising towards the Emperor and targeting his weak spots.
Though they ultimately failed to injure him, they succeeded in knocking him back.
Before he could even regain his footing, another beast had arrived beside him.
This time it was a nine-headed wolf, surrounded by darkness.
Its nine mouths opened wide, and they bit down, each targeting a different part of the Founding Emperor’s body.
A crashing noise soon echoed.
The razor-sharp teeth shattered, but were able to leave a large number of bite marks behind.
Though the damage caused was minimal, it showed progress.
Most importantly, as Liora waved her hand and demonic energy poured into them, the Devil Runes making up the wolf’s teeth were rearranged.
In the blink of an eye, they had completely recovered.
Liora then had another thought and commanded the beasts to resume the siege.
Soon, a strange scene unfolded.
The Founding Emperor’s body was sent flying again and again, trampled under the legs of the hundreds of King of Knight beasts.
Throughout this process, he was unable to put up much of a resistance.
Although he continuously swung his claws around, slaughtering a couple of beasts with each attack, the Devil Runes making up their bodies would soon rearrange, and the beasts would recover.
Even though he continuously transformed into a cloud of insects and escaped, the injuries on the Founding Emperor’s body began accumulating over time.
Watching this happen from the side, even Liora was caught off guard, a little surprised by her new ability’s effects.
This was an ability she had been trying to create for a long time—Reanimation.
Inspired by Alpha’s ability, Life Infusion, and the boundless information contained in the mysterious blood, she had finally succeeded.
Each of the beasts that had been summoned was one of those whose memories she had digested not long ago, thus analyzing their racial information.
Their reanimated selves thus possessed not only their physical strength, but also their abilities.
Therefore, although the Founding Emperor’s situation seemed embarrassing, it was already impressive that he was able to remain alive for this long.
After all, he was currently being besieged by hundreds of beings of the same rank.
Turning her head to look at the other battlefield—the one between the Priest and the two men—Liora fell into thought.
If the situation remained the same, everything would end up well.
Should she just wait for the two people to finish off the Pope and come to help her?
Soon, Liora made a surprising decision.
She chose to take advantage of the situation and use another trump card of hers.
The previous idea had not completely disappeared from Liora’s mind.
She understood that the current situation was particularly complicated, and one wrong step would mess everything up.
It would be better to get as many benefits as she could before it reached that point.
“The soul of the Founding Emperor will surely grant me enough Evolution Points. Even if push comes to shove, it will be worth my involvement in this war.”, she thought, and resisted the impulse to act cautiously.
She decided to “act recklessly” and take the Founding Emperor out.
Immediately, the shadows beneath her rippled and swallowed her whole figure.
When she reappeared a moment later, she had teleported beside the Founding Emperor, who was still in the middle of the siege.
Liora did not create a Spear of the Blighted Sun, nor did she use Shadow Manipulation. Instead, a small red droplet appeared right above her hand.
Its surface was covered in a myriad of symbols while it shone brightly like a star, as if it were a precious gem containing an entire world.
With a flick of Liora’s finger, the droplet shot out.
Its target was nothing but the open wound running across the Founding Emperor’s back, which was dripping with green liquid.
The moment the droplet bypassed his defense and entered his body, the Founding Emperor’s movements froze.
