Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress - Chapter 213: Danger

Chapter 213: Danger
For a moment, Liora felt as if she had lost control over her body.
Just by hearing the Zerg Hive’s voice, she sensed a grave danger.
The Myriad Devils Body, which had been able to defend against the Zerg Hive’s soul attacks without an issue so far, had now failed.
But this was to be expected.
By utilizing the Life Seeds and Bloodline Seeds that she had scattered throughout this world, the Zerg Hive was briefly able to exert a greater part of her true power.
On the other hand, Liora was still a mere Lesser Devil.
The gap between them was gigantic.
The oppressive armor covering Liora’s body began to crumble, while her skin started to crack as if she were made out of fragile glass.
It looked like she would explode the very next moment, merely through hearing the Zerg Hive’s voice.
And this was indeed true. If nothing changed, she would indeed die.
Fortunately, the soul-tearing pain and the warnings sent by Void Whisper allowed Liora to regain a part of her consciousness for a moment.
Sensing that her current state and understanding that her life was in danger, she instinctively bit her own tongue and forced herself to wake up.
Then, she didn’t hesitate. She decided to reveal another one of her trump cards.
Before the Zerg Hive could react, her mind connected to the countless arrays she had secretly engraved along the Ancient Beast Wilderness.
With a thought, she activated them all.
Instantly, countless Devil Runes appeared on the ground across the wilderness and its surroundings.
They didn’t possess any attacking capabilities, but when they came into contact with any flesh or blood that had fallen down due to the previous war, they turned into mouths and devoured it.
Immediately, Liora felt her waning demonic energy recover.
Not only did it return to its full strength shortly after, but her demonic energy had now multiplied many times over.
However, Liora didn’t feel relieved just yet.
She knew that she was still a Lesser Devil after all.
No matter how much demonic energy she possessed, she would never be able to fight against the Zerg Hive unless she were to become a True Devil.
Fortunately, she had already predicted that she would face such a powerful being today and had already made plans.
Her gaze became fierce as she turned to look at the fighting beasts not far away and clenched her right fist.
The beasts suddenly exploded, transforming back into Devil Runes.
These Devil Runes all shot towards Liora and floated silently in the air in front of her before they began to merge under her instructions.
As she watched this scene unfold, an image that she had thought of countless times during the past few months appeared in Liora’s mind.
It was the image of a towering being purely composed out of fire and scorching magma, striking down with all its strength as if it were a god punishing mortals.
Her thoughts resonated with the runes in front of her.
They began to rearrange, turning into a head, a torso, and finally a pair of legs.
At first, the creature that had materialized looked like a giant human.
But when the process was finally over, its true appearance was revealed.
It was a giant creature purely made out of flames, whose each breath led the temperature of the entire continent to rise significantly.
If any Devil familiar with the Demon World were here, they would recognize this creature as a Fire Elemental, a race born in places with concentrated fire elements.
To be more accurate, this creature was the Fire Elemental that Liora had once faced in the past, the being who had forced her to escape the Demon World and descend to this world.
Under the effects of her new self-developed ability, and having consumed the energy contained in the corpses of countless creatures, this foreign creature had now appeared in this world of Knights.
And, in a strange turn of events, it now stood on the side of Liora.
A deafening roar spread as the Fire Elemental materialized in the world and its towering stature oppressed everything around it.
Its mere presence caused the space around it to tremble while the land beneath it turned red, and flames grew out of it.
For a moment, it seemed as if the God of Fire had descended to this world.
However, Liora did not have the time nor the will to admire its impressive appearance. Using her connection with it, she controlled the Fire Elemental to attack the Zerg Hive.
Instantly, the Fire Elemental stretched its hand and brought it down, as flames of all colors revolved within its palm.
Any other person in this world would have been unable to defend against such an attack.
However, the Zerg Hive, who had regained most of her strength, was not an ordinary person.
Although she was shocked by the fact that a mere Lesser Devil possessed such a powerful trump card, she knew better than to lose her composure.
Her mind moved, and countless Zerg Servants appeared before her, transforming into a large army whose sole aim was to protect their Queen.
Unfortunately, the Zerg Hive had severely underestimated the Fire Elemental’s power.
The moment the Zerg Servants stretched their limbs towards the sky and wanted to use them to defend, their bodies instantly dissolved into gray smoke.
The mere momentum of the palm was accompanied by extremely high temperatures that were enough to harm True Devils, much less a bunch of Zerg Servants.
The eyes of the Zerg Hive shrank as she saw this scene.
In a hurry, she opened her mouth and controlled the power of her soul to form a shield in front of her, preparing to resist.
Before she could put up any more defenses, the palm, accompanied by a myriad of flames, had arrived.
Instantly, the palm shattered the shield powered by soul power.
Then, it continued unabated towards the Zerg Hive and struck directly at her.
